Mrs [redacted] applied for a home on 04/26/She informed our leasing consultant she wanted a month leaseWe were running a special of month free rent with a long term lease (months)My leasing consultant had been employed for weeks at that time and did not know the month free did not apply to a month leaseI called Mrs [redacted] back and informed her she could not receive month free with a month leaseShe was upset because she thought she was going to move in and pay months’ rent during the month lease which I told her was not an option and explained whyShe then told me she was going to cancel her lease applicationOur application and administrative fee at that time was $The application and administrative fee was nonrefundable after hours if cancelled or denied [redacted] then tried to come to our location the last week of May and get her app and admin fee backWe informed her that we did not have the application fee here on siteThe money order that they paid was lostWe could not give her the $ money order back as we did not have itWe did however explain to her that she could contact the location that she purchased the money order from and they would refund the amount to her as we had not cashed thisWe called the company for her, got the information for her, and called and left her numerous messages trying to assist her to get the money back as it was our fault, not hers that it was misplaced If the money order were at our location we would have happily given it back to herGiven we did not have it, we used our resources to assist her to get it backThe receipt copy of her money order had the information she needed to contact the company and they would have reimbursed her back for that amountWe apologized to her numerous times that our office had misplaced the money order and told her if we happen to find it in the meantime we would contact her immediately We cannot give Mrs [redacted] her money order amount back because we never cashed it, it is not at our location

*** *** This company did not try to contact me at all about the matterThe company told me they would hold the money order for me until I came back into townWe lived four hours away and we were trying to move to the areaAt the end of May when we came back to pick up the money order they stated that they could not find itI do not want to continue back and forth about this issueI just want people to know the employees at this company are careless and do not uphold to what they offer

As of 8/24/there is still no payment in the mail boxI just wanted to let you know that

Good Afternoon [redacted],  We received an application for residency here at the Veridian on the date mentioned above from Mr. [redacted].  We contacted Mr. [redacted] the next day making him aware that his application had indeed been denied due to a negative background report, Mr. [redacted] then...

offered his rebuttal verbally.  It was explained to him that we have no control over any information retrieved or reported on the report as we process all applications through a 3rd party.  It was made quite clear by Mr. [redacted] that was indeed upset and he did not appreciate this verdict, we communicated to him that if the charges reported/recorded were indeed dismissed we would be more that happy to reconsider his application and if everything else met criteria we would find him a home here at The Veridian.  Approximately two weeks later we received supporting documentation clearing Mr. [redacted] of those charges mentioned, we assured him that we would indeed honor the special quoted to him at the time he submitted his application.  Once this had indeed been cleared up, we then had a waiting list for the floor-plan requested by Mr. [redacted].  There was never an admission of guilt or fault on our end as we rely on the 3rd party to provide us with most accurate information.  We do empathize with Mr. [redacted] as searching for a new home can be a daunting task, however per Fair Housing we must ensure we are consistent and ethical in our practices and procedures.  We have since submitted a full refund for Mr. [redacted] per South Carolina law he will receive a refund within 30 days. We apologize for any misunderstanding, if there is anything further needed from The staff here at The Veridian feel free to contact the leasing center.

she wanted a 3 month lease. We were running a special of 1 month free rent with
a long term lease (12 months). My leasing consultant had been employed for 2
weeks at that time and did not know the 1 month...

free did not apply to a 3 month
lease. I called Mrs. [redacted] back and informed her she could not receive 1
month free with a 3 month lease. She was upset because she thought she was
going to move in and pay 2 months’ rent during the 3 month lease which I told her was not an option and explained why. She then told
me she was going to cancel her lease application. Our application and
administrative fee at that time was $49.00. The application and administrative
fee was nonrefundable after 72 hours if cancelled or denied. [redacted] then
tried to come to our location the last week of May and get her app and admin
fee back. We informed her that we did not have the application fee here on
site. The money order that they paid was lost. We could not give her the $49.00
money order back as we did not have it. We did however explain to her that she
could contact the location that she purchased the money order from and they
would refund the amount to her as we had not cashed this. We called the company
for her, got the information for her, and called and left her numerous messages
trying to assist her to get the money back as it was our fault, not hers that
it was misplaced.
If the money
order were at our location we would have happily given it back to her. Given we
did not have it, we used our resources to assist her to get it back. The
receipt copy of her money order had the information she needed to contact the
company and they would have reimbursed her back for that amount. We apologized
to her numerous times that our office had misplaced the money order and told
her if we happen to find it in the meantime we would contact her immediately.
We cannot give Mrs. [redacted] her money order amount back because we never
cashed it, it is not at our location.
