I don't consider the booking process on Booking.com deceptive Immediately after you select a room and before it is submitted, a screen appears with the total price Directly under that screen is a link that reads "Important, Please Read" If the person had clicked on the link and
read the message, it stated our refund and cancellation policy completely Before the person finalized the reservation, they had to click on a link that stated they agreed with the reservation terms and policies The person finalized the reservation so they are responsible for the terms of the reservation

I disagree with the owner's? response.? The "read me I'm important link" is on a very busy page which is full of hyperlinks, requires numerous boxed to be filled? in, and is situated? immediately above an area that is labeled "the fine print" which discusses late arrivals rather than discussing cancellation fees.? Perhaps the link should state - "read me there are cancellation fees."? Someone booking a reservation should not have to hunt to find out there? are cancellation fees.? They should be? prominantly stated as they? were in the reservation confirmation email.? ? Yes there is an? "I agree with the booking conditions, general terms and and privacy policy by making this booking" statement.? However it immediately follows a? box which can be checked to "get acccess to member-only deals, just like the millions of other email subscribers."? Therefore the entire section appears to be booking.com boiler plate.? In fact the general terms and privacy policy are indeed booking.com boiler plate.? I should not have to click on this link to find out there is a cancellation fee after I have added all my credit card information.? When I received the confirmation email and realized there were cancellation fees I immediately cancelled one of the two rooms and checked the box to request a reduction/elimination of the fee.? I even called the hotel and was told I would need to call back the next day which I did.? My initial interest in cancelling was due to uncertainty of the exact dates I would be in Sedona.? What I'm truly suprised about is this reservation was made almost months prior to intended arrival date.? I immediately tried to cancel it and am being charged a fee.? Given that this is how they do business I have no interest in staying at their inn and would like my $fee refunded.? ?

I disagree with the owner's response.  The "read me I'm important link" is on a very busy page which is full of hyperlinks, requires numerous boxed to be filled in, and is situated immediately above an area that is labeled "the fine print" which discusses late arrivals rather than discussing cancellation fees.  Perhaps the link should state - "read me there are cancellation fees." Someone booking a reservation should not have to hunt to find out there are cancellation fees.  They should be prominantly stated as they were in the reservation confirmation email.    Yes there is an "I agree with the booking conditions, general terms and and privacy policy by making this booking" statement.  However it immediately follows a box which can be checked to "get acccess to member-only deals, just like the millions of other email subscribers."  Therefore the entire section appears to be booking.com boiler plate.  In fact the general terms and privacy policy are indeed booking.com boiler plate.  I should not have to click on this link to find out there is a cancellation fee after I have added all my credit card information.  When I received the confirmation email and realized there were cancellation fees I immediately cancelled one of the two rooms and checked the box to request a reduction/elimination of the fee.  I even called the hotel and was told I would need to call back the next day which I did.  My initial interest in cancelling was due to uncertainty of the exact dates I would be in Sedona.  What I'm truly suprised about is this reservation was made almost 4 months prior to intended arrival date.  I immediately tried to cancel it and am being charged a fee.  Given that this is how they do business I have no interest in staying at their inn and would like my $25 fee refunded.
