In Re: [redacted]To Whom this may reach:I am in receipt of your letter dated May 23, 2016 regarding the above case as noted. My response is as follows: The customer did schedule an appointment to get her vehicle looked at when Customer came in for the diagnostic in which the cost is $59.99 plus taxes,...

in which she was never charged that fee. She stated, "Car would not stay running". I found the service engine light to be on. Upon completing the diagnostic I found the service engine soon to be on for the following DTC (Diagnostic trouble codes) confirmed: P0300 (Random/multiple misfire detected) P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire detected) P0171 (system too lean bank 1) Pending P0304. Before any repairs were made it was explained to the customer that it is and has always been a business practice of collecting money to cover the cost of the parts, and that she would need $52.00 parts and $60.00 in labor, in which was incorrect, when you perform a tune-up on a 2009 Nissan Sentra you need to take off the upper intake which is more than 1-hour labor, but again she was only charged $60.00. The mechanic performed the tune-up, but please keep in mind that there were still 2 additional codes that needed to be addressed, after further inspection the mechanic noticed the intake hose was ripped the part was not ripped it was dry rotted and mechanic did tell her he ripped it, in which later upon my inspection I later told him not true the code proves that the car was pulling in air after the mass air flow sensor prior to the tune-up, but from the fragile part being R&R (removed and reinstalled) it got worse, I ordered the part without it being paid up front to speed up getting the customer her vehicle back.It was explained to all of my customers including Ms. [redacted] that I was going on vacation and last day of work would be Thursday, May 19th and I would not be returning until Monday, May 23rd. The part was delivered on Saturday, May 21st, and the part was installed on Monday, May 23fd. When customer called to know status of her car I explained that the part that she needed was a special order part and was needed before we started the work, but we did not know of it needing that part until further inspection. The SES light was not on when the customer received the vehicle, we test drove the vehicle to make sure the problems stated above were in fact addressed and repaired. The customer was upset about having to pay $145.00 for a part that she needed. At the bottom of my work order is the disclosure which reads "The above is an estimate based on our inspection and does not cover any additional parts of labor, which may be required after the work has been started. Occasionally, worn or damaged parts are discovered which may not be evident on the first inspection. Because of this the above prices are not guaranteed. Quotations on parts are current and subject to change". Please see attached copy of work ordered signed and dated by Customer.Thank you in advance, and I will wait for a replyRedline imports & Performanc
