This business will take your down payment and not return to do your work. Do not trust them they will lie to you and take your money.

We have a contract from September of 2019 stating my roof would be replaced by November of 2019. The owner, Chris F, has been unresponsive and excuse heavy. I had to hire someone else to replace the roof and Chris verbally agreed to return my deposit of half down, totaling $6,750. He said I would have the money by the end of last week. He is unresponsive again. Please help me as I would prefer to avoid court. This will only cost him more as I would add any of my own legal fees to the claim. Thank you.
