Vehicle was towed in to me with an issue of not runningMr*** *** the person who brought in the vehicle was referred to us from another shop where they were unable to get the problem resolved for less then 1500$ and less then a week.We then found the Converters were plugged from the severe
engine problem and the front converters melting down.we re the rear converter and put in new Magnaflow converters that are designed for California emissions ratings Also we had to move the front osensors to behind the front converters due to the amount of rust in the existing converts in the frontWe did not have the proper front down pipes in stock to replace these so that is what we had to do to get them back to denver.They were unable to provide enough funds to fix the motor issue so that this did not happen again *** said that will be fine that we he could make it back to Denver the same day.Vehicle left our facility under its own power knowing that it would not meet emissions in Colorado or Federal without more repairs to the vehicleAlso the check engine was still on because it was unable to clear with all of the other issues with the engine misfires and intake leaks.WARRANTY was voided when *** *** left our facility without repairing the engine which causes this particular part to fail often.We then received a phone call one moth later stating that we did not know what we were doing from *** *** witch we had never met beforeWe explained to her if there is an issue with our work we stand behind it and that we would like to see the vehicle in person so we could look at the issue or have her local facility contact us so we can figure out what the problem isShe was not able to have the other shop call meI believe a week later she was able to come to our facility in Casper where we found that there was still issue with the engineThe vehicle had codes all pertaining to the engineThere was code pertaining to the converters but was due to the problem the engine was having creating to much heat in the converter setting the code*** said she would take it back to Colorado once again not allowing us to fix the issues with the engine.*** has since contacted us a few times saying she has all of these issue but will not allow us to speak with the other shop to resolve her issueWe are in no way at fault for her issue with her vehicle.The vehicle in question has over miles on it and is almost years old and has many problems with it.We have tried to work with *** but the issues she has are nothing to do with my company.Thank you Shawn Reed

When Ms*** called and asked if she could bring her car in for a diagnosis of her check engine light, I told her to bring it in and we would check it out, I spoke with Ms*** and her husband In the front officeWe discussed that she had had the vehicle at Greiner Ford, and was told that the vehicle had a coil problem and a fuel problem in the throttle bodyThey chose not to have Ford fix it and would fix it themselvesThey stated that they had ordered parts over the Internet and changed the parts out themselves, thinking this would fix their problem and it did notThat's why they brought it to usThe check engine light had codes; one for misfires, one for censors, and for the Intake censorTelling Ms*** that there are codes would not have fixed her problemWe needed to dig deeper to find out what was wrong with the engineWe found the #and #cylinders were not working properly due to ignition coil's primary circuitAt that time there was no other choice but to remove the intake manifold and pull the two coils to find the real problemWe had to check compression in those holes and the coils are under the intake alsoWhen we removed the intake manifold, we found that her husband had damaged the wiring to the intake system when he took it apart and that was one of the codes we were reading so we had to fix the wiring issue in order to finish checking what was wrong with the vehicleWhen I spoke with them in the front office, I questioned them about the parts that they had installed on the vehicle, they told me they had put the proper spark plugs in the vehicle which is a double platinum spark plug, but we found a non-platinum spark plug which was burning up the engine coilsWe checked for compression in the #and # holes and found they had compressionWe also found that it had the wrong spark plugsWe moved the #and #coils over to the other side of the engine so that if only those two coils were bad, we didn't have to take intake off again, in order to save them money on the repair. When we restarted the engine, after putting the intake back on, we found the engine miss moved over to the other side of the engine so we tried replacing those coils to repair the problemThe check engine light came back on still saying there were mutliple misfires, but they are now in different holesWe then replaced the coils that we put on the side of the engine then restarted it and it showed those cylinders picked back up but we were still getting a check engine light and multiple misfires on the other holesWe then removed the spark plugs and replaced them with the proper spark plugs and replaced more coilsIt was running better but still not rightWe had to change the other coils because the improper spark plugs had damaged themThe check engine light now went away and the engine runs great, and the 02 censor code went away as well.
When I returned back to town, I got a phone call around 9:00, Monday, March 24, 2014, from Ms***She said she wanted her car and she was only going to pay $I told her that the bill was higher than $The $only covers the check engine light analysis which was not a full diagnosis of the problemIt was a much larger problem than they had led me to believeThe engine problem that she had was due to her husband's non-mechanic ability and faulty partsI never told Ms, *** the bill went up to $2,to get her car from meThat never happened- I told her I could put her old parts back in but she was still paying me for the hours it took to diagnose the real problemI explained to her that the All Data time shows it pays hours just to remove the spark plugs without even diagnosing the problemAt that time she told me she would take me to court, I told her to go ahead and she hung up on meShe called me again at about 2:and asked me to fax her a copy of the bill, which I did.

I called *** ***, Owner of ***'s Automotive at 9:00am on 3/24/I told him my name and that I wanted my car backI told me he got the letter from the Revdex.com and that he was writing one of his own in replyHe also added that since I did that it would now cost me $to get my car! He is
literally holding it hostage! I told him he had no right to do that and he said he thought I lied about the parts my husband put on it so he couldn't diagnose itI said then you should have called me and said thatHe said Oh but I could after I put all new parts onI told him that was not his place that since it is MY Property only I could say that was okThen he started yelling and I told him I would see him in court, and hung up

I have filed a claim in Small Claim's courtI simply cannot wait up to a year for my only means of transportation! The court date is scheduled for 4/2/at 9:00am

I am rejecting this response because:It is far from the truth Yes *** brought it to them initially We took the vehicle to another mechanic in Denver and had the other problems addressed They also told me my catalyst system was bad I told them we had just had that fixed They advised me to contact who I went to and that they should be responsible So I contacted Shawn who is the mechanic at Reed's that did the work Shawn said "If it is the catalyst system he would take responsibility and there would be no charge as the parts were under warranty." I told him it was not done properly He never asked to speak with my mechanic at that point I drove the vehicle back to Casper from Denver when I was able to as my kids had school so I had to wait a week until Spring break but had informed Reed's of when I was going to be there When I arrived I was rudely greeted by Wayne the owner Who before even looking at my car said we aren't doing this for free I told him I had already talked to his son who said if it was the catalyst they would and drove all the way that morning from Denver I showed him at that time the initial paperwork that I had from my mechanic that showed the codes that they had prior to them doing the work but showed their estimate for the catalyst system Wayne looked at my car but said no codes are coming for the catalyst He put it up and put a clasp on my exhaust and tried showing me some scanner and said catalyst are doing what they should, the only problem is it's running lean So he refused to fix it at that point I said well what is the sound it's making My mechanic said it's the catalyst He said nope I don't know what it is I asked him to write out a report for me on the work they did All he would do is print out the original paperwork and wrote running lean I took it back to Colorado to my mechanic again They drove my car looked under it did the scans and said it's your catalyst system it's re-clogging because Reed's emptied the catalyst and then welded it shut Because the work was not done properly it's re-clogging What they did is illegal and we will back you up on this if you need My vehicle will not p a ss immisions which you must have in Denver to be able to get license plates, because of the catalyst system So then I called and asked Shawn to write me a full report of everything they did to my vehicle It took days to receive When I told him what they did was illegal that is the point at which they wanted to contact my mechanic The papers I had showed Wayne when I was there had his info so if they ever wanted it prior they could have got it then All the lies that had come from them I decided not to give them my mechanic information but I did share what my mechanic gave to me in report and told Reed's numerous times I would give my mechanic any information they would like I have all of my documents from both places along with a report from my mechanic saying what they did was wrong I also told Reed's I was willing to go to another mechanic just for evaluation But I like my mechanic so if they come back with same result I would want them to take responsibility of that bill as well Reed's said if I wanted them to fix anything the only way was to let them have the information on my mechanic After so many lies and rudeness from Reed's over the phone I decided everything needed to come through in writing in email I shared that feeling with them and I have saved all emails I will submit all these documents Parts that I was charged by Reed's I have now caught in a lie and was told by my mechanic were not put on my vehicle In the letter here in their response they said moved the ones I had In my invoice I was charged for new ones I don't want this company to touch my vehicle ever again but they should pay for improper repairs and all the lies and troubles this has caused me
