So with not having internet all weekend, they had no choice but to stay with Charter. I told him that he will still be charged for 1 month of service and the $65.00 install fee. The Reedsburg Utility seems to have the residents of Reedsburg in its clutches, with no available alternative for sewer, water, and electric they have the ability to make life very difficult for their customers. I am currently in the process of moving and missed my utility payment, totally my fault. When I got back to my house they had stuck a disconnect notice in the wrong door and I didn't see it until the day they were shutting me off, FYI this is February and I was quite sure the state of Wisconsin had rules about turning off people's utilities in the winter but that's another rant. I owed them $104 past due, they charged me $50 for 'reconnecting' a service that they never actually disconnected. There were two gentlemen in my front yard searching for something to turn off as I was calling to make my payment, however no service was ever disconnected. That's a 50% fee for the small amount I owed them!
This utility has become a tyrant to this community and unfortunately since they're also a monopoly there is little the residents of Reedsburg can do. Beware if you're looking to buy within the city limits, a few miles out of town in any direction can save you the headache of dealing with them.
