Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and while I did not create the account and didn't allow them to access contacts, I have determined that the response does satisfy my issue, in that they agreed to deleting my account, in reference to complaint #***I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolvedHowever I would like to ensure that they cease accessing my contact information, do not send emails as "me", no longer have any of my information on their website
Regards,
*** ***

Thanks for bringing this to our attentionOn 10/11/at 9:03AM EST support received a very simple straightforward email request for the first time from"***" to have the account they'd created with us in cancelled and all future correspondence with that email address
stopped (see copy/paste of the entire communication below)That was the extent of the complainants outreach and essentially within just hours - at 11:09AM EST - the complainant received a very short, straightforward and uneventful email response from one of our support specialists letting them know that the free account they'd setup in had been promptly cancelled per their wishes and that the email address would no longer receive communications from usYou can see below that the exchange was brief, efficient and responsiveWe are not seeing the exact time that the complainant decided to file with the Revdex.com but knowing that they filed within hours of their first outreach to our support raises concerns about the complainant's genuine and primary interest in a resolution which they received in-whole the very same morning they made the request. On 10/11/11:09AMOn 9-20-"***" registered, created a profile and even connected with other membersLike most platforms, the system has been designed specifically so that only the owner of "***" could have created the accountWe have cancelled "***" so that "***" should no longer receive communications from usOn 10/11/9:AM:From: *** *** Topic: Removal from all correspondence Operating System: Message: I am requesting removal from all future email or any other communications from your company On 9-20-12 "***" registered, created a profile and even connected with other membersLike most platforms, the system has been designed specifically so that only the owner of "***" could have created the accountWe have cancelled "***" so that "***" should no longer receive communications from us

[redacted] sent us an email just yesterday but did not wait a single day for a response. Referral Key is a free platform with millions of seasoned professionals using it who have tens of millions of connections. [redacted] has already deleted her account and we will not be sending emails to the email...

address associated with that account. With that said, [redacted]'s decision to delete her account does not preclude other people from joining, inviting or participating irregardless if she happened to have also included them in a recipient list she uploaded before deleting her account. In fact over 200 of the people [redacted] invited had already joined and created their own account and they too have invited people. RK uses a common address book function which allows people to build their network. As with most sites [redacted] agreed to the terms and privacy policy upon creating her account. What future communications are [redacted]'s to control and what is up to other members/invitees/future-members, is outside the scope of a complaint. Simply put, [redacted] sent an invite to potential colleagues inviting them to join her referral network. This was neither obligatory nor could it have been a simple mis-click as there are far too many concerted steps. To She created a csv file of recipients she wanted to invite to her referral network, she came back to Referral Key and uploaded that list into a very specific area, she was then shown the list once more and she was given the choice yet again to uncheck anyone she did not want to invite. It does not help us if people invite others who do not want to join them. That said, [redacted] merely sent her recipients one invite and one industry standard reminder 24 hours later. So long as [redacted] does not create another account and try to invite those people again, there will be no more invites going to those people from [redacted]. In accordance with best practices, every email that is sent to non-members has a simple unsubscribe link and people who have unsubscribed will never receive an email again from us. But it may not be [redacted]'s authority to decide who "is" and "isn't" allowed to interact with RK.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'm not sure where the other notices were sent but we did not see them and would be eager to respond. Referral Key is a business networking site with over 4 million professionals around the world who connect with eachother. We do our best to ensure no one...

receives a stray email from one of our members. We strive to be 100% perfect despite the massive numbers. Checking the records we never received a single email from [redacted] and we personally answer all inquiries through our support page which is open to anyone. More importantly, not a single other person has had the same experience with"unsibscribe" not working since [redacted] filed this complaint nearly a month ago. With hundreds of thousands of connections monthly, when there is an issue, we hear about it from multiple sources almost immediately. It is certainly in our best interest that people who are not interested in networking with their colleague can opt out which is why the feature appears to be working in our regular testing. That said, there are millions of members, tens of millions of connections, tons of computer machines, web browsers and other factors that , it's possible [redacted]'s browser was out of date or some connection lost at his local ISP when he went to click unsubscribe. Regardless, "[redacted]" has been unsubscribed from receiving any future emails from our platform. This is in everyone's best interest since our business has grown on good word of mouth it's important that communications are received among folks who want to participate and enrich it.  Thanks, Referral Key Support

Thank you. We never created an account for [redacted] because we don't create accounts for any member. Referral Key has over 4 million professional members who have all created their own accounts. Like most popular social networking platforms, Referral Key is user-driven and [redacted] has performed all...

actions related to the account. On 9/19/12 she was invited by her colleague who sent an invite directly to her email inbox.  On that very same day at 10:31PM EST she accessed Referral Key through that invite in her email inbox, accepted the invite and created her own account.  Not only has Referral Key been free for [redacted] to use but we also answer all support emails.  [redacted] could have promptly deleted her own account or had us remove it. We have never received this simple request from her. We have gone ahead and deleted her account.
