The details provided in the letter from Regal Home Improvement are untrueWe called on July to inquire about our windows and were told by the receptionist that our windows were not in and we shouldn't expect them for at least nine weeks from the order dateI asked if I should call back and check in after a couple of more weeks and was told "no, the installers will call when the windows arrive in their office". On August we called and spoke to our salesman, john, and were told the windows had been in for a weekThis far exceeds the completion date on the contract
On the first day of installation, Regal installers told us that the trim color we had ordered was wrong and they would have to reorderI never saw the trim in questionWe were concerned that leaving the gaps in the house would be an issue and were told it wasn't a big dealMiguel, the foreman, told us that the trim would be installed the following TuesdayWe did not hear anything from Regal on the follow up date and called Friday, August to check on the progressAt this time we were told the trim had come in and was the wrong color againWe were informed that the trim had to be ordered from overseas and would be overnighted and installed no later than Monday, August 24. To Whom It May Concern: Regal Home Improvement will send a roofer out for another service call.  font-size: 11px;">Arthur M[redacted]

This is my third year of using Regal Home Improvement Co for window and other services. We had an issue with the pricing on the scope of this project compared to the actual time it took to complete and materials but it was resolved in my favor. The major item that stands out with this company is the foreman, Migel and his crew. Without Migel, this would be another company that does window and siding and not much more. In my opinion, he is the face of the company. If he leaves the company, I would not use them.

Regal Home Improvement finished our bathroom a couple of years ago and since I could do nothing about their very poor work I did not file a complaint. However I get mad every time I use the bathroom. They did not allow me to choose the tub but instead put in their own choice of a cheap vinyl one. I cannot put anything on the sides of the tub because the tub has slanted edges. They left grout that hardened in the tub and it has collected soap and looks dirty. It cannot be removed. The shower rod is so high that I couldn't find a shower curtain long enough and cannot take a shower without water dripping on the floor. They gouged the wood floor in another room, a deep one foot gouge, and it cannot be repaired without taking up and replacing the floor. In another room they installed a very loud heating unit. It is so annoying. They were hard to work with and I would never recommend them for interior work.

Customer stated they have a lifetime warranty, when in
fact they have a limited lifetime warranty with special conditions which are
clearly stated on back side of warranty.
Their warranty is a manufacturer's warranty.  Regal's responsibility is the labor. The delay on this was...

because the factory does not have
records for the product customer bought due to it being 15 years old.  Regal has been trying to resolve this for
quite a while.  Regal has in the last few
days gotten the factory to agree to furnish the product needed at no cost to
homeowner.  Regal will replace the
glasses at no cost.We spoke to Mr. [redacted] a few days ago to set up a day and
time to come over to measure the glasses which need replacing.  He was concerned about replacing tops and bottoms
because of how they would look.  We
agreed both glasses would be replaced. At that time, we were told that Mrs. [redacted] was getting
in touch with the Revdex.com.  I was out 2 days
first of the week due to a Jewish holiday so I was unable to call Mr. [redacted] but
my service manager did call.  That is
when they were told about the letter. We are still willing to take care of this issue if the
[redacted] are willing to retract the Revdex.com letter since we had a solution before the
letter was sent.I have tried to reach the [redacted] for several days.  They have not returned my calls.  I will keep trying.

Review: In August 2015 Regal replaced and screened our second floor porch. At completion of the job the screening was intact. This Spring I noticed a gap where the screening system had come loose from the upright post. After a month of phone calls Regal finally fixed the problem. However, the gap opened up again within two weeks. Since May 1st I have contacted Paul Carr at Regal three times to have the problem resolved. As of today, June 26, no one has come to fix the screening system. I would like someone to fix the problem, which probably requires more than just refastening the screening system in order to keep this problem from recurring.Desired Settlement: Permanently fix the screening system (perhaps by re-installing, not just reattaching) so that there are no gaps.

Review: The roof is leaking where the screened in porch meets the house. We contacted Regal immediately when we noticed it. It took 2 years to have someone come out. They came out and looked at it from the ground. They didn't see anything and finally, after several calls, and almost 2 more years later, came back. They added water with a hose on a small section of the roof. They did not see a leak. The leak has continued and they have not returned. They did not enter the porch to view the leak from the inside. We opened the eaves and looked into the roof. There is a leak coming from the flashing area. A roofer told us that Regal did not use enough flashing . Sam, the representative will not return our calls. I spoke with Glen, one of the owners who has since retired and he told me that Sam determined it wasn't anything Regal did. I explained that Sam did not look at the leak from inside and what we found when we opened the eaves. Glen agreed to send Sam out one more time. Sam still has NOT returned our calls and since Glen is no longer there, neither has the company.Desired Settlement: Would like to have the leak repaired.

Review: Contract signed 8/12/15 for trim and window installation at my home. First attempt at completion of window installation on 10/19/15. 3 of the 23 windows did not fit and could not be installed. Over Half of the installed windows had the wrong sashes (windows with 4 over 4 next to ones with 6 over 6). The siding repair, though on the contract, could not be completed per the company. I was told 2 weeks were needed for the order of the three windows and all of the correct sashes. on 11/6/15 I called and was told that the installation team was booked with other jobs and that the foreman would contact me to schedule a new date. I did not receive a call. On 11/20/15 I received a statement for the remaining balance (half of the total) with a due date of 11/26/15. I called and spoke with a representative (H.P.) who stated that the statement was sent in error and to throw it away. He unsuccessfully tried to schedule the final installation with the foreman for the following week.

I was told that new arrangements would have to be made after the 30th of November.

Plans were made with the company for the installation to be completed the week of Dec 14-18. Rain prevented this install.

12/14/15 I received a voice mail message from the owner (G.M.) informing me that I was past due on the remaining balance of the contract. I called him back immediately and left a voice message requesting that I speak to him about the matter because the job was not finished. I called and informed a secretary about the situation and that I wanted to speak to mr (G.M.) I never received a call back and have never received an answer when calling G.M. directly.

The final installation was rescheduled again for the afternoon on 12/28/15. On 12/28/15 at 0915 I received a call from the foreman that the rain again would prevent his team from installing. I informed him that it was not raining at my house & weather.com gave it only a 15% chance after 12. I was told to call back next week to reschedule.Desired Settlement: I want a call back from the owner so I can be sure everyone at the company is aware of what is going on.

I want the job finished correctly and as soon as possible.

Review: About 10 years ago, I purchased window from Regal Home Improvements with a guarantee that should the seals in any of the window break they would replace the window. Well in the spring 2105, I called Regal to tell them a window in the upstairs bedroom had a broken seal along with one in the dining room. Windows we ordered by the customer service rep. Told we would be contacted by the installer to set up an appointment for installation once the windows arrived. Well one Sunday afternoon early summer, I get a call from the installer asking if he could come out since he was in the nearby 2 install the 2 windows. Had reservations about letting him come out on a Sunday, but he assure me it would only take about 20 minutes per window to install. He comes to the house and an hour later I have a window installed upstairs, but he broke the one downstairs. said he would have to reorder it. this takes about another 4 weeks. Bottom line is he never makes the appointments or shows up late. I have tried to complain by phone to upper management by phone, but only get recordings stating they would return my call. They never do. They pass me back to the same customer rep that is having difficulties getting the installers to call him back.Desired Settlement: PROPERLY INSTALL MY WINDOWS IN AT REASONABLE HOUR AND SHOW UP AT THAT HOUR.

Also, would like to personally speak to the leadership at Regal that refuse to return my calls.

Business

Response:

The job is 10 years old. Regal has performed free warranty work at no charge and will continue to do so. Service will be performed as soon as all parts arrive. Regal has given Mr. [redacted] good service for 10 years at no charge and for him to complain over a few delays is completely unfair. [redacted]

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's offer. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. If the company does not perform as promised I can get back to you at: [redacted] However, the statement in the response is not true. How can he say a couple of days delay when it took over six moths and he or his partner never returned my call. Of which I am told is a common business practice. This is poor service after the sale!!!!!!!!Regards,[redacted]

Review: I signed a contract with Regal on June 5 to have windows installed no later than 7 weeks. I called after the 7 weeks and was told it would be an additional two to three weeks and that they would call when the windows arrived in the warehouse to set up an installation date. I called after two weeks to follow up and was told my windows had been in for over a week. When they finally came out to install the windows (Tuesday, August 11), I was informed that the trim for the outside was the wrong color. This was determined by Regal employees. We spoke to Miguel (foreman for my installation) and was told the trim would be reordered and installed in one week. With no call 10 days later we called (Friday, August 21)and asked what was happening. We were told that the trim arrived and was the wrong color again. It was reordered and overnighted and would be installed the following Monday (August 24). When I arrived home Monday evening the windows were still not done. I called and discussed the fact that my so called energy efficient windows had a gap around the casings that I was able to outside through. I was told they would reorder the trim again. My windows have been left "open" for two and a half weeks now. I made attempts to speak to the owners regarding my complaints and their return calls were to say thank you for your patience with no acknowledgment of the issues. I asked that they come close the gaps and was told there was no point if they would have to come back to install the trim later. It was acceptable to them that they leave the gaps and allow air to come through. Today I was told they received the trim but were too busy to come install it until tomorrow.Desired Settlement: Rotten wood and damaged wood from contractor removal replaced per contract. All gaps filled, caulked and sealed before the trim is installed.

After all the time spent trying to have this business fulfill their end of the contract with little to no regard to the poor installation up to this point, I feel that the company should discount the final cost owed to them. My windows have been left open due to the gaps for two and a half full weeks.

All communication with the company has been initiated by me. Regal has not followed up on anything without first receiving a call from me.

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The details provided in the letter from Regal Home Improvement are untrue. We called on July 10 to inquire about our windows and were told by the receptionist that our windows were not in and we shouldn't expect them for at least nine weeks from the order date. I asked if I should call back and check in after a couple of more weeks and was told "no, the installers will call when the windows arrive in their office". [redacted] (Regal representative) told me that they would be out on Friday, August 28 after having trouble getting the trim by Thursday. On Friday, August 28, the crew showed up to complete the job. I was informed at this time that if I suspected any rot around my windows I would have to identify it myself. I expressed my concern that I wasn't an expert and was told by [redacted] that he didn't believe I had any rot around the windows. I showed him what I thought was rotten and he agreed that it was. Had I not showed him this I'm afraid it would have been covered up and not replaced. After determining that there was rot I was informed they were not prepared to fix it and would have to come back the following week.As far as there being gaps around the windows, it was large enough to see across the street to the neighbors driveway. I provided pictures of not only the gaps in my main living area but the rotten wood that I was required to identify on my own. I would have hoped Regal would have had professionals that would have been able to identify and rectify both these issues without my assistance. We remain very unhappy with this installation. Miguel informed me that Regal could and would provide an inspector to come out and examine the work that was done at no cost to me. Based on this conversation, I would like Regal to pay for an unbiased inspector to come out and examine the install. We cannot be sure rotten wood wasn't covered up and all gaps were filled behind the thin layer of trim they provided to cover up the stops. We hope that the Revdex.com can help us rectify this situation. It has been extremely upsetting and distracting. I have had to take time off from work in order to be home at least two additional times to make sure Regal showed up and was doing the work, not to mention all the phones calls we had to make just to get our windows installed. Thank you very much for your help with this.

Review: We purchased replacement windows for every window in our home in 2004 with the agreement the windows and any replacement required would be covered for the time we owned our home. During the past nine years we have had to have many of the windows replaced. The time for replacement was months at minimum and required many calls/letters to eventually receive service. We now have another window that needs replaced. Regal now states they will only replace the window if we pay a $100 service charge. We have written and called Regal since receiving the service charge letter to inform them this is not part of our original agreement. We have had no response to date. The product and service is inferior.Desired Settlement: We would like to see evidence of the company motto, "A Company You Know You Can Trust", by replacing our window with the terms we agreed upon at purchase.

Business

Response:

Regal home Improvement co will provide a free service call for [redacted].The repair is in our warehouse and we are ready to install.

Future service issues will have a 100.00 charge;parts will be free.

By agreeing to let Regal install this complaint for free [redacted] are acknowledging the terms going foward that there will be a service charge.

Furthermore [redacted] can not put in a claim against Regal to the Revdex.com relating to this service charge issue.

Regal will continue to stand behind its products going foward.

If this is signed and agreed Regal would like nothing more than to put this issue behind us.

This is my third year of using Regal Home Improvement Co for window and other services. We had an issue with the pricing on the scope of this project compared to the actual time it took to complete and materials but it was resolved in my favor.
