Review: I am contacting you to report an extremely poor customer service incident during my visit on November 4, 2014 to the Regal Nails Salon & Spa located at [redacted]. It is important to report because despite this location being a franchise, their corporate headquarters could suffer if franchisees conduct business in a manner that tarnishes the Regal Nails brand. Afterall, most customers who visit a Regal Nails salon may not know that it is independently owned . They simply see one name thus perceive the salon location as part of the larger corporation and it is all a blur to them. I have visited the above mentioned Regal Nails location consistently since 2007. I have visited each month for an acrylic nail fill and pedicure. Every other month, I have added an eyebrow wax. Every three months I have added a full nail set. As can be seen, I have spent time and money at this Regal Nails locationconsistently. During my November 4, 2014 visit, I asked for a nail fill and pedicure. Normally the rate would have been $22 for the pedicure and $15 for the nail fill for a total of 37.00 unless a nail repair was required . I was quoted a rate of $44 and admittedly because of conversation among others it slipped by me so I paid that amount plus a $6.00 tip for a total of $50.00. Upon realizing that I had paid more than normal, I questioned the nail technician. She told me that I was now paying for a service (cutback) that I had not previously paid for. My nails are short so a cutback service didnt apply for me. It was merely a matter of lightly filing the nails down. The nail tech seemed offended and even laughed when I questioned the discrepancy. I asked her to contact the owner. The owner arrived back at the salon and gave the most insulting response imaginable. Per the business cards, the owner is either [redacted] or [redacted]. They are a mother daughter team. I believe that I was speaking to [redacted]. She had the nastiest and meanest reaction to my feedback on the way that her employee had spoken to and treated me. She then took the lack of unprofessionalism to a higher level. I repeatedly informed [redacted] that I would contact the Regal Nail HQ and the Revdex.com of VA. She rudely stated that she didnt care who was contacted. I appealed to her as a fellow businesswoman and how competitors are all around her and how she should treat customers with professionalism. She firmly took a stubborn stance and let me know that she did not care who knew how she treated customers i.e. Revdex.com and Regal Nails HQ. I informed her that she will soon indeed care once I was done reporting on her. She was firmly determined to have some sort of one-upmanship contest .That should never exist between a customer and a business. Ultimately, I grew tired of the back and forth conversation with the salon owner and asked for a refund for the services rendered. She initially refused but later shouted that all that would be refunded was the amount for the nail fill and not for the unfinished pedicure. She refunded me $28 and kept $22 (nail fill plus cutdown). As I exited , I reminded her that she would be reported. She again shouted that she did not care. Her salon made a mistake yet she was not willing to admit it and make amends. All she saw was one lone customer who was providing feedback and she felt cocky enough to challenge that one customer. Howevershe never realized that one customer such as myself would be willing to stand up for all of the others who may have been disrespected and mistreated. I am that customer. Truth be told, she may have offended others who have walked away and quietly taken their business to other nail salons. Lets be realnail salons are on every corner and many are quite competitive with services and prices so Regal Nails is not the only game in town. A business owner should understand that the business needs the customers and not vice versa. Regal Nails is a franchise operation. However I feel compelled to remind them about corporations that were once giants within their respective industries.[redacted] along with many other regional giants who have toppled. These corporate giants may have fallen for a variety of reasons. Howeverif they did so because of poor customer relations then they earned their failures by bringing their downfall upon themselves. This location bears the name Regal Nails and is thus a representation of the larger corporation. The practices and treatment of customers could indeed be causing customers to turn to other salons that demonstrate that they appreciate customers and work to earn their business. Please communicate this to the salon. My efforts fell on deaf ears. Perhaps they will listen to HQ and/or Revdex.com and get their act together before its too late and they are forced to close their doors.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my complaint filed with Revdex.com and for Revdex.com to contact this business to inform them that they are now on the Revdex.com radar. The owner didn't take my warning to report her seriously. Perhaps now that I have contacted her HQ and Revdex.com, she will revisit her poor treatment of customers and shady business practices.
