I bought a Ford Taurus SE from Regan Motors in Thousand Oaks, CA on 12/20/The salesman said the car had been recently smogged, but I later found out the last smog check was 5/14/ I emailed him multiple times to request a recent smog certificate, and he repeatedly stated that smog certificates are good for years for dealersAnd he had showed me a CARFAX report with the smog check listed, but the report he included with my copies of the transaction was one listing the last smog check as being done in Also, the car was missing it's sticker, which he claimed he could not replace since DMV is now issuing and stickers
The check engine light came on shortly after I left the dealership on the purchase dateThe next day, my scan tool revealed diagnostic trouble codes:

The salesman notified me via email a few days later that the registration had arrivedHe attached a picture of the DMV printout and the sti

My girlfriend and I had bought a car here about a month agoWe were looking for a cheap, reliable used car for her, and after much research this place seemed like the perfect optionThe salesmen were nice enough, and *** (who claimed he was the lot's mechanic) assured us that given our price range, the car we selected was among the two cheapest, best cars that wouldn't give us any troubleHe assured us that the car was looked at before it was given to us and everything looked fine, but they wouldn't provide us with any copies of previous repairs or service because they're "for the dealership only."
Well, after the first week or so we were told by an auto shop that we had a leak in the oil pan gasket, which was a bit on the pricey sideWe also found out after the first few days that the A/C wasn't working properly and was blowing warm air, which also needed to be fixedNow, after about a month, we find that our gas gauge and whole fuel pump unit needs fixingThe car won't even startAfter the third repair needed in only about a month, altogether equaling to be $1,or more, we're very unhappy with the purchase but are forced to keep financingI feel like we were played by being told the car was inspected for us and obviously that being untrue, frankly I think we were sold a lemonI'm sorry to say I wouldn't recommend this dealership

On September 11, *** *** *** purchased a Mazda from Regan MotorsIn the purchase agreement Mr*** accepted the terms of payment of three thousand dollars down and two hundred seventy eight dollars forty-four cents for thirty months starting on October 11, and ending on
March 11,
Mr*** failed to make his first payment on October 11,
Mr*** failed to make his 2nd payment on November 11,
Mr*** failed to make his 3rd payment on December 11,
By the new year Mr*** had not made a single car payment and was in full repossession status
Everyone at Regan Motors tried to get in touch with Mr*** to resolve the situation
After speaking with Mr***'s mother it was clear what had happenedHe had lied to his family about purchasing the vehicle and was trying to keep the financing a secret
After resolving all his family issues Mr*** agreed to start making his car payment on January 11, We gave him a chance and took him out of repossession status, and told him to disregard the repossession letter sent out on December 15th,
Mr*** failed to make his payment on January 11,
On Tue, Jan 14, at 5:PM Mr*** e-mailed Regan Motors complaining about the wheels and tires on the vehicle, stating that they where unsafeRegan Motors called Big Brand Tires who does all of our safety requirements and at the time of sale the tires and brakes measured safe. Regan Motors told Mr*** the news and Mr*** said the tires (225/40/18) and wheels are now too big for the vehicleRegan Motors again contacted Big Brand Tires and was informed that the overall diameter of the aftermarket inch wheels had the same overall diameter as the factory inch wheels with a larger tireIt was obvious to Regan Motors now that Mr*** was trying to get something for freeMr*** then expressed that the sport wheels and tires are harder on the suspension components of the vehicle and take away from the ride quality, which Regan Motors agreed with and reminded Mr*** that the sport wheels and tires was one of the reasons why he bought the vehicle in September, because he liked the way they looked and felt on the roadNow, months after purchasing the vehicle Mr*** finds out that it cost more to maintain your vehicle with sport wheels and does not want them anymoreIn fact, he wants Regan Motors to reimburse him for the cost of new tires and wheelsThat's like buying a white vehicle then changing your mind on the color months down the road and wanting the dealer to repaint it to a color of your choiceMr*** needs to take responsibility for his decisions
After Mr*** finds out Regan Motors will not maintain his car for him, Mr*** cuts off all means of communicationMr*** blocks all five telephone numbers from Regan Motors so we can not get in touch with himThen does not respond to any emails sent to him
Mr*** failed to make his payment on February 11,
Mr*** failed to make his payment on March 11,
After another three months had gone by Mr*** was in full repossession status again
Regan Motors had no way to contact Mr***, Blocked all telephone number, No response to e-mail, and No response to US postal mail
The Mazda was repossessed the morning of April 9, seven months after last payment was received
Upon inspection of the vehicle, it was very clean and tidyAs if he knew the vehicle was going to be repossessed at any momentThe only thing found in the vehicle was an expired one day student parking pass in the driver door compartment and two empty blue trash bags in the trunk
Mr*** did in fact purchase used wheels and tires for the Mazda, we had the Mazda inspected again and the front tires failed the safety test and had to be replaced immediately
Anything permanently attached to the vehicle is apart of the vehicle and can not be returned, for example: you can not have your window tint back
After further examining the situation, Regan Motors noticed Mr*** serviced the Mazda at Alhambra Mazda on October 13, Mr*** had the Oil changed, light bulb replaced, and one engine mount replacedThe aftermarket wheels & tires and brakes measured at or about %according to the Mazda Dealer service department and are safe for the road
That was the last time Mr*** serviced the vehicle, then continued to drive the vehicle into the ground for more then eight thousand miles until it was repossessed
Regan Motors also had to have new keys made for the vehicle, and we will not hold Mr*** responsible for this feeWe don't ask anyone else to pay for our decisions and we take full responsibility for our actions
Regan Motors would like to have the original keys mailed to the dealership
To make this a long story short, Mr*** never made a single payment on the vehicle, he lied to his family, he lied to Regan Motors, he has no sense of responsibility, and his vehicle was taken away from him after hundreds of attempts where made to resolve any issues

On September 11th I purchases a Saab Convertible from Regan Motors for my daughter M*** ***1st complaint; The car was in an independent shop supposedly weighting for a partAt that time we entered into the sales contract and I paid for most of the purchase price, tax and licenseThere was a "pick up" payment arrangement wherein I was to pay $at a future dateI took delivery but the dealer didn't remove their advertising paper plate covering the CA licenseLater I discovered via the police officer writing me a very expensive ticket for no registration or insuranceThe car was still registered in the previous owners name, a Ms LlewellynBy law they are suppose to register the car in the buyers name upon delivery or do a rental car agreement and either way it is to have current registration and insuranceThe day after receiving the ticket I contacted my salesman, to get something in writing stating the facts for the court, and he said the owner would get back t

I was interested in a Honda Accord that the dealership had
I show up before 10:am for test drive The office didn't open for minutes because staff member was minutes late I missed my first appointment with the Ortiz Auto because of the staff's latenessI had to schedule an other appointment with Reino Mobil Services Whom were awesome by the way
The mechanics said the car need to have rear tires replaced because very low Rotors were slightly warped Serpentine and Timing belt will additionally need be replaced He also informed me that there was quite a bit of rust in the under carriage,
The mechanics suggested not paying much more than
Considering that my Wife want the care I was willing to go higher
After some discussion the dealership and I agreed on $for the vehicle $was a suggest price upon the price after taxes and registration The pretenses was that the vehicle was going to be $
After writing check for $and signing some papers I noticed the the price for the vehicle was $not the $that I expected
if I were to register the car myself for the thousand which was what I request the price be I could have done the tax and registration myself for $
On top of that when I pointed out the lack of communication about how the staff member came about the price he derogatorily said" what if I take the dollars off will that make you feel better?" He said this because I pointed out that the vehicle price showed which is not even the that they originally offered
I left with a really upset Wife, dollars short for per-purchase inspection, and gas mileage from Santa Maria to thousand oaks

I have recently been scammed by this used car dealerI purchased a "lemon" from themCome to find out they never transferred the title due to them not being on the title themselvesI bought a truck that last about miles before it had more problems than it was worthI also found out that the motor is not even the original in the vehicleThey claimed it wasIt had so many repairs that were needed and the transmission was badI have over $worth of repairs that need to be done to a truck that I don't technically own right now due to the title issueStay away from these peopleI am currently in contact with an attorney to deal with these crooks

I gave Regan Motors a check to purchase a car for my year old sonI was told they would hold onto the check until all the paperwork was done on their end, which included a smog certificate and filing registration papers with the DMVWe should be able to pick up the car the next day
F* (salesman) called my SON (not ME) next day to tell him car didn't pass smogFaust also told my son he would chip in $to obtain an illegal smog, if Travis would pick up the car and have it illegally smoggedWhen I found out about this I told my son NO I'm not buying a car that doesn't pass smog and we're not doing anything illegal
F* then called and told my year old son (not ME) he found an exhaust system from another mini cooper and if WE picked it up, his mechanic would install it and it should passI called F* wanting to know why he cashed my check and asked if we couldn't get a better price, or just have Regan fix the car so it passesF* told me they would insta

I spoke with the repossession company to pay the bill for picking up the vehicle. I asked them if there were any personal effect left in the vehicle, and they said yes. A car charger, aux cable, and black sunglasses. The items where put aside for safe keeping, and all trash was left in the vehicle.
I would have no problem mailing these personal items to [redacted] at [redacted] S Euclid Ave [redacted] CA 91101 once we have received the original keys to the Mazda 3. Or Mr. [redacted] can stop by and we can do a switch.

I have no problem replacing the light bulb or the housing, its a safety concern. When would you like to drop the car off so we can repair it?

Thank You,

The customer is absolutely correct, we should never sell a vehicle without a smog and we normally never do. This vehicle was on consignment with us and should have been smogged before it was advertised. The customer is entitled to a refund of $9200 that they originally gave us for the vehicle. A...

check was written to the customer for a complete refund of the sale price and the salesperson that handled this process so poorly has been relieved of his duties at Regan Motors.

My girlfriend and I had bought a car here about a month ago. We were looking for a cheap, reliable used car for her, and after much research this place seemed like the perfect option. We also found out after the first few days that the A/C wasn't working properly and was blowing warm air, which also needed to be fixed. Now, after about a month, we find that our gas gauge and whole fuel pump unit needs fixing. The car won't even start. After the third repair needed in only about a month, altogether equaling to be $1,000 or more, we're very unhappy with the purchase but are forced to keep financing. I feel like we were played by being told the car was inspected for us and obviously that being untrue, frankly I think we were sold a lemon. I'm sorry to say I wouldn't recommend this dealership.

Review: The car was taken back by the dealer on Tuesday the 8th of April 2014, while personal effects were still in the car. Regan Motors failed to notify the customer within 48 hours of the seizure with a list of personal effects that were included in the car. More than one week has passed, and the dealer has failed to notify the customer of any action taken on the car. The wheels originally on the car at the time of purchase had to be taken off because they were damaging suspension components. The dealer was on notice of this issue and failed to respond. The set of wheels and tires on the car at the time of seizure were not the ones originally on the car at the time of purchase.Desired Settlement: Unless the personal effects can be accounted for and returned to the owner, Regan Motors must reimburse the value of all effects that were in the car at the time of seizure. The original wheel set on the car at the time of purchase that belongs to Regan Motors should go back to them, and the current wheel set on the car at the time of seizure should go back to the owner.

Review: My 18 year old daughter bought a car from Regan Motors in March of this year. She qualified as a first time buyer with an interest rate of 24%. Regan Motors claims that it handles all financing in house. The sticker price of the car was $8995, but I had talked with A[redacted] over the phone and he had agreed to sell the car to my daughter for $8500. In reviewing the sales contract several weeks later I asked my daughter what cash accessories had been added onto the car. She said none. I asked her what the $1495 cash accessories price was on the contract and she said she didn't know. I went to Regan with her and we spoke to A[redacted]. He said the charge was for a wire charge for the financing. Under the Federal Truth-In-Lending section of the contract, I could not understand what the different dollar amounts meant regarding the real cost of the car & brought out an old contract for a car purchased & financed from a dealership & it all made sense to me. On the old contract I also noticed that an aftermarket alarm system that had been added to the vehicle had been specified (handwritten next to the "cash price accessories" line & I had been required to initial next to it to verify that it had been explained to me. There was no such explanation or required initialing next to the "Cash Price Accessories" line on the Regan Contract. Also, if the $1495 was a "fee" I don't feel sales tax should have been charged for the item which added an additional $112.13 to the purchase price. Since I couldn't make sense of Regan Motors numbers & the fact that they were charging an exorbitant fee for transferring funds, I began to feel that they had taken advantage of my young daughter. Their business practices are questionable at best.Desired Settlement: The car will be paid off in the next couple of days at the current payoff amount of $5100 and change, so I would like a full refund of $1607.13, which includes the "Cash Price Accessories" of $1495 and the applicable sales tax of 7.5% of $112.13, made to my daughter.

The $1495 Fee is for VTR (Vehicle Theft Recovery) to guarantee the asset during the length of the loan, and was apart of your 18 year olds approval with no prior credit experience. If you plan on paying the loan off early, we have no problem pro rating the VTR and removing it from the vehicle. If you were to pay off the vehicle today, we could deduct $1,269.63 from your 10-day pay off which is $5085.85. If you come in the next 10 days with $3,816.22 cash, we can hand deliver the title to you and also the extra key to the vehicle. We'll see you soon, and again thank you for being a customer of ours. Review: They sold me a vehicle who has so many issues.2004 BMW silver 325i after 10mins of driving to my house from the dealership. got a warning sign on my dashboard only to found out I have a leak on my radiator and the grille and headlight on my car is broken. when I try to complain about it the salesman was rude to me he wont help me out. instead he told me I have no right to complain because its a used car. salesman told me car is clean and no issue before I sign the contract then when I tried to complain he just laugh at me and said I sign in the contract that is as is no warranty. need help on this issue. not even a 1-3days old car I am getting so many issues on the car..Desired Settlement: I want a better car without those type of issue. atleast trade it with a better quality car.
