I have a contract with the Regency Design Group and paid them upfront thousands of dollars. They should have delivered my kitchen on March 4. After cashing my checks they would not answer my emails, phone calls , texts, voice messages for weeks. Then they would email excuses every month to postpone the work again.

I really have to think twice before going ahead with the restoration of my late mom's furniture. I wanted to keep it intact for years to come, be able to show to my kids the furniture I grew up with. Entering my mom's house was always a pleasant journey to my early years, the rocking chair where my father sat after work while telling us about his day, the table where we had so many delicious dinners and casual meals after school and during weekends, that special chest that served as my vault to hide whatever was inappropriate to have around my parents and made me look so cool with my cousins when they came over to visit, or that china cabinet where mom kept all her beautiful and perfectly polished dishes used only during the holidays, the night tables where I spilled nail polish remover once and have to cover and hide until mom cleaned around causing for me to get in trouble with her or the dresser where I keep all my clothes neatly folded. Yes, childhood memories that are accentuated by the fact of being an only child, the princess of the house with the most elegant and detailed carving canopy bed and matching night tables. It was very difficult to let someone touch my family treasures, that is why I visited Regency several times, randomly showing up just to see the result with the pieces they were working on belonging to other clients. I might sound a little OCD but I needed to be sure of what I was doing, taking care of my mom's furniture it's my way of showing respect and honoring her memory. After all the back and forth, I decided to agree to a pick up date, gave my deposit and explained exactly what I wanted done on those pieces, I followed up making weekly visits to the shop while the work was being done and after a brief delay, which I didn't mind because I wanted my pieces to have their complete attention and didn't want any rush at all, my pieces were completed with the most beautiful finish (wood & color) and extreme attention to detail to all and everyone of my instructions. I couldn't be happier, my special project was a huge success and besides the brief delay, I am very grateful with Regency Design Group, because they understood how special those pieces were for me and how emotionally attached I am to them and treated them with expertise and respect.
