Dear [redacted],
class="Standard">We received your claim on Oct. 6th, that was dated 9/26/14. Our contract states that all claims must be made in writing within 10 days after delivery. (see #15 on front of contract) We received this claim almost two months after delivery. With that said you did note three items that were damaged at the completion of the move. Unfortunately, the 3 items listed would fall under your $500.00 dedcutible. (see back bottom of contract) Those were the only items noted when you signed stating all articles were received in good condition (see front of contract). Also, dirt on a mattress is considered normal wear and tear (see back of contract #2-D).
We do apologize for any mishaps and inconveniences that may have occurred during the moving process.
Sincerely,
Regency Moving

She never offered to pre-assess our job, which resulted in a disastrous move, as the packing and moving crews were grossly understaffed. The packers worked slowly, only completing about half of the job in 8 hours. The next day, the moving crew was astonished that they had to finish the packing before they could start moving. They were pleasant and hard working, but really overwhelmed, resulting in over $2,000 of damages to our furniture and belongings. After the move, [redacted] claimed that we had refused the free pre-assessment. [redacted], the owner, would not come to the phone. Both of them showed very little care for the customer. To top it off, they never paid us their portion of the insurance claim. This company’s treatment of their customers is inexcusable. I wish I had read the reviews before choosing this company. shewas limited to 60 cents per pound per article and a max of $50.00 per item. Wesent a letter explaining this to Ms. [redacted]. Review: 1. Movers at pick up location spent entirely too much time loading the furniture on the truck. They took 7 hours to load the truck with 3 men and then they could not load it all on the truck and I wound up moving several van loads of household goods myself. This cost $900+ 2. Was charged $690 for 5 hours (+1 hr travel) for putting items into storage. 5 hours to offload a truck when it only took 3 to offload at new location? 3. Movers delivered our household goods and took only 3 hours to offload but then submitted a bill for 9 hours labor ($1,150) stating that it took 6 hours to load the truck. Took almost as long to reload the truck as the initial load and the goods were already wrapped and packed?? 4. Was charged $350 for 21 days storage which equates to approx. $500 per day. Have email from company [redacted] that stated an estimate for storage at approx. $100 per month. 5 times the estimate is not approximately. Total cost of a local move came to more than $3,000. I moved from Maryland to Virginia in 2011 and that move cost less than $3,000 and they packed and unpacked my household goods and setup furniture which was not part of this move. Clearly, these charges are exorbitant and excessive.Desired Settlement: It is important that the general public be aware of this company's poor business practices.

Review: this moving company did not honor our insurance claim. The time period was not pointed out to us and we also called in about the claim asking questions after their time period had ended according to them and they didn't take the time to point this out knowing when our move took place and the date of our call to them regarding the insurance claim. They also stated in a letter to us that certain items are normal wear and tear and the item was damaged by them, not wear and tear. They also indicated that we did not write down all the damage on the day of delivery. There was no way to find all the damage on that one day. It took days of unpacking to find out what was damaged and the company doesn't want to honor our claim even thought we purchases the extra insurance coverage.Desired Settlement: We just want the claim honored and our property that was damaged by their staff compensated.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] Regency did not offer any resolution. They obviously do not want to take responsibility and do the right thing with handling a good customers and offering excellent customer service and satisfaction.

Regards,

We hired Regency Movers to move my mother-in-laws belongings from her house after it was sold. We really liked the employees the job they did was excellent. They were very careful with her stuff and really knew what they were doing. I have no complaints or problems with this company and I highly recommend them.

This company is the worst. It took the movers 11hrs to move literally one block from previous address. They didn't have to box anything, it was already boxed. The movers argued amongst themselves all day. It cost us almost 1400.00 to move and the only thing that was set up was the bed. By the time they left the apartment was a disaster. If you want to save your self some aggravation do not call this company.

Review: Regency Moving and Storage packed items for my move. Upon receiving my load, four items were broken that had been packed by Regency. I understand that I did not buy additional insurance however, their packing of at least one of the items caused the damage. They wrapped a $1200 chandelier in my fleece blanket without anything else to protect it. The item was destroyed in the move. I contacted Regency multiple times regarding their poor packing and they will not accept responsibility for the damage of the item.Desired Settlement: I would like them to pay some form of compensation for the chandelier that was ruined.
