applicants applied to our community on 5/13/The applicants placed a $holding deposit on a unit at Regency Park Apartments during the application process• The application was denied on 5/28/by our compliance (tax credit) departmentThe application was denied due to the applicants' failure to meet Low Income Housing Tax Credit requirementsThe applicants were notified of the denial by phoneThe applicants visited the community office on 5/28/2015; the reason for the denial was explained in detail by a leasing agent at that time• The holding deposit refund request was submitted by the community manager to our accounting department at our corporate office on 5/29/2015, one business day after the applicants were notified
of their denialOur leasing offices do not have the ability or authority to process checks on site• The holding deposit check refund in the amount of $was processed and mailed to the applicants on 5/29/• The assistant manager called the applicants and left a voice message on 5/29/stating the refund check had been processed and mailed that day• The applicants cashed the check on 6/3/The federal government's tax credit regulations are very specific and qualification is required for the program and to be able to rent at one of our communitiesThe holding deposit refund was processed in a timely manner and in accordance with our company's holding deposit policylf you have any questions concerning our response to complaint #*** you are welcome to contact me at any timeVery Truly Yours,
