Review: My Daughter, [redacted] entered into a lease agreement with Prairie Crest Apartments located at [redacted] in August of 2013. In March of 2014 [redacted] had several conversations with [redacted], clerical contact for Regency Property Management located at Prairie Crest Apartments regarding leaving her apartment at [redacted]. She informed [redacted] that she was to rent a duplex, at a more affordable price stating 4-1-14. [redacted] informed [redacted] that she could cancel her contract in April because she had a waiting list for tenants in Verona. On 4-1-14, [redacted] relocated to Belleville, WI as [redacted] had requested that she vacate by 4-15-14 as a new tenant was to occupy the apartment. On 3-31-14 we provided [redacted] with check 1489 for $889.00 with the understanding that when the tenant moved in on 4-15-14 we would get 1/2 the amount returned. That did not happen, so on 5-2-14 [redacted] informed [redacted] that she had to pay for the month of May. On 5-3-14 I mailed check 1498 for $884.00 as [redacted] insisted the check had to arrive by 5-5-14. I had confirmation that [redacted] received the check on 5-5-14. On 5-8-14 [redacted] demanded [redacted] send a money order and that it had to be received by 5-12-14 or [redacted] would receive a bad credit reference regarding her rental reputation as she could not accept the check she already had. I contacted [redacted] on 5-8-14 inquiring why she waited until 5-8-14 to inform [redacted] that she required a money order when she had received my check by 5-5-14. She informed me that was the rental agreement policy and forgot to inform [redacted] that she couldn't accept a check that she needed to have a money order in hand by 5-12-14 Or [redacted] would have her rental record/reputation tarnished. Since I was not getting the desired resolution from their clerical representative I contacted [redacted] who informed me that she didn't have to speak with me my name wasn't on the lease. [redacted] stated a document was provided.Desired Settlement: My resolution, since I was not able to have a civil/professional conversation with [redacted] or [redacted], is to receive check number 1489 for $884.00 returned to me via mail in Appleton, WI, I refuse to incur a further cost to cancel the check and don't really trust them not to cash it;confirmation, from a reputable individual of said organization stating that apartment 307 is indeed rented and return 1/2 the May amount to me. Confirmation that they won't tarnish [redacted]'s reputation.

I am writing to respond to the complaint filed by [redacted]. [redacted] was a tenant at Prairie Crest Apartments and signed a rental agreement. [redacted] found herself unable to honor the agreement and discussed the situation with the Property Manager of the community, [redacted] explained to [redacted] that she was obligated to fulfill the lease agreement she signed but that it was possible to sublet the apartment and offered to help her. It was also explained that any sublet would have to complete an application and meet the same requirements as [redacted] in order to be approved for the sublet.

[redacted] moved out of the apartment prior to a qualified sublet being found. It was fully explained that she was responsible for the rental agreement. [redacted] failed to pay the May rent on time or have a qualified sublet. Once rent is late and a notice is given our policy is to only accept money orders to ensure guaranteed payment. [redacted] was notified of this however, mailed a personal check instead. The check was not accepted or cashed and the policy was explained to her.

[redacted]’s apartment has since been sublet to another person on June 1, 2014 and her account with Regency Property Management is in good standing. No formal collection action was taken.

During my conversation with [redacted] I attempted to explain I could not discuss the details of [redacted]’s account or lease agreement as she is not a named person on the agreement due to privacy issues.

Review: I am a tenant and I would like to place a complain about Regency Property Management, Inc. for their management services. I cannot open my window and it is 35 F outside. By the law all the apartments should have a working window. I need to air my studio apartment which as one room, kitchen and a window and I do not have a working window. I called the after hours number and talked to someone whose name is [redacted] (not sure about pronunciation). She told me that the fact that I cannot open my window does not qualify for an emergency reasons. I told her that I need fresh air and I cannot breathe in. She said there is nothing she could do. I have asked her what solution she suggests, should I break the glass? she said the only suggestion she could offer me was to open the door which opens the hallway. I told her this is a health concern and I need a fresh air and hallway. I told her I will place a complaint because my concerns was not address and I was not provided the service I deserve as I already paid the rent. She said it is my right to place a complaint. She was not helpful and attentive to my health concerns or my concerns as a service recipient.Desired Settlement: Immediate fix of this problem and compensation for this inconvenience ! I may have to spend the entire day outside and may have to even spend the night in a hotel
