Hello Ms***, Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this claimDue to our privacy policy regarding member information, I will provide a general statement about our processes related to the complaint Account Statements (printed or online) are produced at month-end; these are not real-time transactionsOur free online, mobile and telephone banking provide real-time Balance and Available Balance, and a detailed account history: · Balance shows funds in the account in real-time as it is viewed, not including Pending Transactions made by the member (for example, electronic payments, checks, debit transactions)· Available Balance is the Balance less Pending Transactions, in real-timeMembers may also use check registers to account for pending transactionsMembers are responsible for monitoring their balances and transactions, and for maintaining balances sufficient to cover transactions incurred We have explained this to our member The assessed fees fall within the guidelines of our Account Agreement, and are clearly not due to Credit Union error Please let me know if you have further questions, and I will reply as soon as possible Thank you, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:It states that the balances have to do with pending transactionsIt does not explain how It is okay for them to charge an overdraft fee on a transaction that there was enough funds available forAccording to their account agreement, an overdraft fee is charged when a transaction is processed and there are no available funds forUsing that statement, how can there be an overdraft fee on transactions that there was enough funds for? It doesn't say anywhere that it depends on the time the transaction processesIt just states that there is an overdraft fee when there aren't sufficient funds.
