DRIVEWAY PAVING -Regional Paving removed and installed my driveway on 30/04/ In the months since the driveway is deterioratingWhenever it rains or when I hose the driveway the aggregate is coming loose and washing awayI can kick loose the aggregate with my foot or it will come loose when a car turns the wheelThis is happening even on areas of the driveway where there is no trafficInternet research revealed this issue is called "RAVELING" which means an on going separation or erosion of the aggregate particles due to having a poor mix of the binder to the aggregate creating a porous asphaltPoor compaction will also cause "RAVELING"I contacted the company representative on 31/08/about the issue and he said he would come later that dayHe was a no showI contacted company repagain on 1/09/and he said that he informed the office of the issue and someone will definitely call and look at the drivewayNot hearing from the company, I called late in the afternoon the next day and was connected straight to voicemail so I left a messageOn the 3/09/another representative called and said he would be here to look at drivewayThis representative said the only way to fix the Reveling would be to seal driveway and it would cost me to I informed him this is a warranty issue and the company is responsible to resolve this issueHe said that is not his department and I have to deal with the pavement departmentOn the 4th, 8th & 9th SeptI called Regional Paving and left several messages on their voicemailOn 10/09/we got a call from *** and said he will be here next week to look at the driveway and I'm to call late Monday morning 14th Septto set date and timeI called the phone number provided on the 14th & 15th got voicemail each time as well so I left a messageIt seems that Regional Paving does not stand behind their product or workmanshipThey say they buy their asphalt from a reputable supplier for the last 40yrsYet I have RavelingThey say they are licensed and bonded but my driveway was compacted with a tamperRegional Paving is stalling and does not want to correct this issue to the satisfaction of this costumer COMPANY RESPONSE - 17/09/- This issue was handled immediatelyAnd is a cosmetic issueI sent out our experts to inspect and address the issueCompaction more than adequateNor revelingThis is a cosmetic issue as stated in the large print on reverse of all contractsWe were willing to remedy with a sealer as there is nothing inferior with the drive other than cosmeticWe can still provide this servicethis is not warranty work but cosmeticYou were never ignored and always in contactI personally sent you our top peopleHow would they get there and been aware of I didn't address thisI personally came back to see you and the drive, you were not homeBut we made sure you were looked afterAsphalt is asphaltIt has stones in the mix to give it strength We have never had a problem with our supplier and stand firmHowever if you wish to pay for core testing and prove us wrong we will still honor our warranty but I doubt very much there will be a finding with the productThis once again is a cosmetic issueit's asphaltJust like the roads we drive and parking lots we Park onProper care and maintenance will give it many many years of good useSee my blog on Web site for proper care and explanationsCall us for sealer if desired before it's too late in the season REPLY TO COMPANY RESPONSE - 24/09/The expert the company sent to inspect & address the issue informed me the only way to stop the erosion would be to seal the drivewayHe had the proper type of sealer already loaded on the truck and he could do it nowI would have to payWhy would the company send an expert from the sealing deptfor my issue of asphalt Raveling instead of the paving or asphalt deptPlease explain why the company owner was torching a spot at the bottom of the driveway that would not compact during installation and then tell us if it got worse to call and they would fix this issueCould the asphalt be a poor mix and wouldn't compact with the tamperDid they know something then! Why did the Raveling start not only in that area but all over the driveway even in areas where there is no car traffic just foot trafficI don't believe this is a cosmetic issue but an issue with the mix of the asphalt or compaction or bothOn top of that, the customer has to pay in order to do a test to confirm issue and to pay to seal the driveway to stop the issueI will continue NOT to recommend Regional Paving to family, friends, co-workers, etcWe are only one home owner but word of mouth can travelThis is a very big expense for a home owner to undertake and to realize that you got taken by what you thought was a reputable company leaves a bad taste!

Our 10,sq ft commercial parking lot was completely redone by Regional PavingThey ripped out all old asphalt, regraded, stone compacted, sterilized for weeds and paved the entire lotAll work was done quickly and efficientlyWe are very pleased with the quality of service and professionalism that Regional Paving offers to the Niagara AreaI would confidently recommend this company for any commercial or residential paving needs that you may require

I called four paving contractors and Giovanni showed up from Regional Paving. Usually, if a contractor has a sense of humour-watch out. But, Regional understood the need, provided a detailed quote and professionally communicated the job from A to Z. Now we have a beautiful 200 foot driveway and two parking pads that looks like it will last 50 years!!! 15 inch excavation, quality material and a great team at Regional did it all.
