Regroup Partners - Fraud
I hired Regroup Partners in late June of 2023 to renegotiate a business debt. They had no success in doing so but collected $15,898.14. The only communication was limited and by email and I highly doubt more than a few hours were spent on this file. I asked for at least a partial refund and they no longer respond since termination of my agreement on or about 10/23/2023. The one offer submitted was rejected and stated no modification to the loan terms would be accepted so there was no point in continuing to pay them $3532.92 per month

Hair Salon Franchise Owner
I am delighted to share my positive experience with Regroup Partners after working with them for 19 months.

As a hair salon franchise company, we were struggling significantly with business debt, and Regroup Partners were able to restructure it all and save us a considerable amount of money. Their transparency and honesty were evident right from the first call, and we were impressed by their unwavering support during some tough times. Thanks to them, we were able to overcome the challenges and get out of the difficult position we found ourselves in while trying to grow our salons.
I am sincerely grateful to Regroup Partners for their exceptional service and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of financial assistance for their business.

Business Debt Issue
Due to Covid we were shut down. We had 2 Merchant Cash Advance loans we could not pay. The attorney for the MCA company filed a lawsuit against our company and myself. I was referred to Regroup by one of the salesman on my loan. Regroup took over my case, got us on track, stopped the legal issues with the lawyers suing us. We make 2 payments monthly, no more collection calls and we have saved more than 35% of our outstanding balance. One note to add, the MCA company was suing us for attorney fee's, Ben the counselor for Regroup got the attorney fee's squashed for us. I am happy with my service 6 months in. Ben asked me to provide a review for his service.

Michelina M.

Fraud company
They kept calling me 6 times in one day. I had to threaten to sue them to get them to stop. Luckily, we only hire lawyers and not junk like this. The government should outlaw companies like this.

This review is from a competitor not a client. Our office does not cold call clients. We do not have "junkies" in our offices. Our company is an open door policy, we do not employee anyone with addictions. Our office is one of a professional environment and one of providing solid solutions for business owners.

When I contacted Regroup Partners about my company's financial situation, I was highly skeptical that they could do anything about our debt. We had monthly lease payments, office supply credit card debt, gas card debt, and more totaling $9,000 per month in bills and it became too difficult to make these payments. I also had to get a merchant cash advance loan for $95,000 and paying it back is so painful and after the daily paybacks, it is costing me 2 employees per month that I could easily hire. Even though the cash advance funds helped me with immediate funding, it is actually putting my business growth on hold or even backwards financially until I pay this debt back. Short term it helped a lot, but after a month it actually made When Regroup Partners reviewed all our expenses and financial obligations, they were able to negotiate with my vendors and combine everything into 1 simple loan and saved me 39% of my debt obligations. I am extremely happy with the services they provided me, they really cared about me and my business. Now I have the flexibility and am totally stress free because I don't have to worry if I can make payroll or not every week. And putting these payments off until the next month could easily have ruined my credit even more! Thank you so much for all you did for my business! Thank you so much!

We at Regroup Partners specialize in the restructuring of debt for client's who are willing to help themselves. We make our program as economical as possible but when a client pays 3 times less into their Trust account, it is impossible to build the leverage to settle in a timely manner. If the client is not willing to cooperate and follow protocol we can not assist the individual in any capacity, therefore we request client to submit an intent to cancel letter whereas SAS Trust then processes the request, then issues the available balance of the Trust back to the client. If that client has any questions or concerns about any issue regarding the Trust account they could simply refer back to their contract and the SAS agreement form, in which the client SIGNED, to find the company contact information which is stated several times. We advise you contact them directly as we are a third party and we are not in control of those funds.

The team at Expedia Financial Consultants went above and beyond to make a terrible time in my life much easier. They were professional and patient with me. We were overwhelmed with MCAs and our business wasn't going to survive another month. Expedia helped me generate more cash flow so that business could continue without interruption. In a matter of months, I managed to pay off my debt and get business in better shape than before. I would highly recommend them!

The staff really understood my situation and was able to keep my lenders from going after everything. I got good funding from the owner and they helped build back my credit. They got me back in good standings with the lenders and I was able to reborrow. Good work.

This company charges upfront fees, not once did the company they were negotiating with on my behalf with receive a POA. I have filed a case with the Federal Trade Commission. This company is will rip you off! BEWARE! They have their day coming. I'm just sitting back to watch.

Regroup Partners Response • Sep 17, 2019

As you are aware, we assist in the restructuring of corporate business debt for those who are unable to satisfy their debts and sustain economically. In regards to this matter, you owe your creditors over $200,000 as well as the IRS in the amount of roughly over $200,000 for a combined debt load of over 400k. Our contract in which you agreed and signed, states our service fee is paid over the first 7 months of your program term. As soon as client executes our contract agreement, LOR and POA is automatically sent to all debtors enrolled into our program as that is our protocol. The disconnection in this case was that you were extremely irate and argumentative which is not conducive to the working relationship of a successful client in our program, therefore you were released from your agreement. After further review, our records show we executed proper due diligence and remained in compliance.

Customer Response • Sep 17, 2019

Completely fabricated story. I posses all documentation of all correspondence which in fact, shows the complete opposite. You must have my case confused with someone else, I owe the IRS absolute nothing and my debt is a mere $20,000 in business debt. This response clearly shows this businesses integrity and moral compass.

Regroup Partners Response • Sep 18, 2019

Thank you for your response. Obviously, this is a frivolous and false review due to the fact that your debt of only $20,000 does not meet our watermark as our minimum debt load requirement is $100,000. Thank you.

Customer Response • Sep 21, 2019

When clear overwhelming evidence of conduct is in my possession, this business can say what it wants, the evidence is everything.

Regroup Partners Response • Sep 24, 2019

Thank you for you response. After further investigation into this matter. Not only did you not make a single payment into your trust account for any settlement efforts. You failed to pay your retainer in full. With that being said, only LOR and POA were drafted and sent which is our initial protocol of due diligence. Furthermore, you failed to honor our program terms which means our legal counsel was not successful in obtaining pertinent legal documentation needed for settlement purposes. Feel free to contact our firm if you would like to resolve this matter as our staff is here to help past and present clients, not hinder them or their business endeavors. Thank you.

I have paid Expedia Financial Consultants over $6000 dollars out of the $41,724 dollars that they require me to pay over the next 12 months for them to negotiate my debt of $60k with two loan companies. Expedia Financial instructed me not to communicate with my lenders since they will represent my business as our POA. I was not able to keep up with Expedia Financials? monthly payment of $3242 so I was not able to succeed with their program. Since I failed in keeping up with Expedia's payment plan, I am now told that only $468 out of my money of over $6000 is refundable. Expedia did not inform either of my lenders that they were my POA so I did report this to the Florida Attorney General and as a result. Expedia Financial closed my case on 02/04/2019 since I complained to the Florida Attorney General. It was suggested by the Federal Trade Commission that I also contact the Oregon Attorney General about this matter.
Product_Or_Service: Debt Restructuring

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment Refund the full amount of my $6000 paid to them so that I can pay it directly to my lenders. None of my funds went to the creditors I owe and they kept all funds claiming that it went towards their expenses.

Regroup Partners Response • Mar 18, 2019

Client is trying to get back monies that are not owed to him. His contract clearly stated there was a non refundable retainer, and he made only 1 payment into his program. The 41K plus that he is saying we required him to pay was not a requirement at all but a combination of a percentage of what he owes to his lenders, (he owes a total to his lenders alone for his personal debt of $57,000) whom he didn't pay back and the cost of our program. If Mr. would have stayed in the program we would have saved him close to $25k The client also issued us an apology letter for blaming us for his financial hardships. Mr. also received free advice on his personal consumer debt which is also well over 100K and also in default. Mr. closed his account with the trust and received a refund of the funds he was entitled to.

The letter of apology that was sent to Expedia Financial after I complained to their referral source Second Wind can be disregarded. The owner of Expedia screamed at me and threaten our business because I made this complaint to Second Wind Consultants. I do have our conversation on a recorded message in case there is any question about this and am willing to share it if needed. *** stated that she would be willing to keep our case open and look for solutions and that is why I sent the apology letter. As one solution, she sent me a private lender that was willing to put a hard loan on our Home but the private person explained our home could be quickly repossessed if I missed any payments. That certainly wasn't an option. She also sent me an offer to get a loan by purchasing heavy equipment and I would get a rebate after my purchase. This was another ridiculous offer that wouldn't work, and it also stated I could not be a home base business for it to work. Attached is this offer. I would have to spend thousands (that I don't have) to get the rebate on something I don't need.
I wasn't the one that closed my account. The only refund I received was $468.00 out the total money I paid to Expedia. They took the rest of my personal funds plus what they call a "nonrefundable retainer". I was canceled by Expedia Financial on February 04th 2019 because of my original complaint to the Florida Attorney General. The message sent by Teri from Expedia stated:
Hello ***,
After very careful consideration and your complaint filed against our Company to the Attorney General, our Attorneys have advised us that you are high risk, and it is in our best interest to cease any and all communication with you, as you are no longer our client.

We wish you the best with your business and hope that you can find a solution that works well for your situation.

All the best

The above message proves that I am not the one that exited so that is a false statement by Expedia Financial that I was the one that closed my account. It is fortunate that I was not able to pay any more funds to this company because that would be more money lost and what they are doing is considered illegal. It is taking a while to work its way through the system, but the complaint I originally made through the Attorney General was forwarded to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and I was informed that because this appears to be Fraud, they forwarded it the Federal Trade Commission. Please note what it states on their web site concerning companies that take money for themselves before settling a claim. It is illegal. There is a link off the Dave Ramsey web site to the FTC ruling and it states,
"Any debt relief company that charges you before they actually settle or reduce your debt is in violation of the Federal Trade Commission.(3). www.daveramsey.com/blog/debt-consolidation-truth
"A company can charge you only a portion of its full fee for each debt it settles". Unfortunately, my homework was done after losing this money but I will continue to warn others and look for ways to recover the funds I lost from an illegal contract.

Again, we, Expedia Financial are not responsible for Mr. financial troubles. For the record, Second Wind DENIED assistance to Mr. due to his financial hardships and referred him to Expedia Financial to see if we could help him. Mr. was referred to us on 9/22/18 and by SIGNING his contract OF HIS OWN FREE WILL he AGREED to our terms and the amount of his retainer for $2850.00 that was broken into 3 payments for him at $950.00 to enroll $57K in debt. Being a businessman, you would think that Mr. would fully read any contract from a company that he is considering doing business with before signing, and we are not able to force him into doing anything. He was in constant contact with his salesperson and if he could not afford the 12 month program or the payment obligations to get our of business debt in 12 months (1 year) HE SHOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING BEFORE SIGNING IT. I have also attached his Lender contracts in which you can see the payment terms are completely ridiculous and no one in their clear mind would ever agree to! Per his contract his first trust payment of $1621.00 was due on 10/22, however Mr. did not have funds at that time so we adjusted the date for him to 11/5, even with the adjustment to the dates that payment was RETURNED as NSF ON 11/8. He did not re-draft again until 11/29, in which a PORTION of his payment went to the cost of his program, as outlined in black in white in his contract. As far as conversations, all of our calls are recorded as well and we did everything we could in an attempt to help this client, EVEN AFTER HE COMPLAINED TO SECOND WIND! which is why he then sent the apology letter. I will not allow Mr. to make us responsible for his poor money management skills in business and in his personal consumer debt. He was cancelled from our program due to NON PAYMENT and also to being a risk (which he has proved by this false and bogus claim) and to try to keep a client in a program they clearly cannot afford is unethical. Furthermore, Mr. only paid a $2850.00 retainer and 1 payment to his trust for $1621.00 and nowhere do these amounts total 6K and if Mr. had 6K he should have tried to pay his Lenders instead of looking for help to REDUCE the amount he LEGALLY OWES to BOTH of his Lenders. The bottom line is Mr. borrowed almost 100K in cash that he KNEW he was not going to be able to pay back, and because his credit and finances are so in the arrears he is know trying to do the same thing to us that he has done to his lenders, which is not accept responsibility for his debt. Expedia Financial is in no way doing anything fradulant business and the link that Mr. has provided is from a blogger . When it comes to the Federal Trade Commission and business debt, the following is stated in Section XXX(X): "The FDCPA applies only to the collection of debt incurred by a consumer primarily for personal, family, or household purposes. It does not apply to the collection of corporate debt or debt owed for business or agricultural purposes." We do not collect ALL fees before we settle debts, we collect a portion as well as building the clients trust account at the same time. No Debt relief Company would survive in business by paying off the clients debt and collecting our costs once all the debts are settled, if the client has put their business at risk to borrow money they cant afford, why would they bother to pay a company for services once the job is done? I have also attached a list of Mr. PERSONAL debt to give you an idea of how much debt his in actually in. In an email conversation dated 12/17 Mr. Thanked a member of my team (Teri) for providing him information that actually helped his situation as he was contemplating filing bankruptcy. I am attaching a series of emails where Mr. himself stated he could not pull the equity from his home due to his bad credit. We have done nothing wrong and do not owe Mr. anything.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I am not surprised by the response from Expedia Financial Consultants. I complained also to Second Wind Consultants for their referral to Expedia Financial since there are no positive reviews to be found online about this company. My troubles expanded after finding this company. They verbally claimed that they have helped hundreds of people but I am not even sure how that is possible since it appears they just started their business in late 2018. I have an active case open with the Federal Trade Commission so I will no longer respond to any statements made by Expedia Financial. I am hopeful after talking with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in Florida that there is protection in place and that after the FTC explores this matter then I will know where I stand. I am also submitting the contract I signed to a legal team in Florida concerning it's validity. I will not respond to any further comments by Expedia Financial since they made it clear where they stand on this matter. My purpose for filing this complaint with the Revdex.com is to help protect others that may be in debt and stressed out trying to stay in Business. I have also since discovered that for free the National Foundation for Credit Counseling can guide you on your debt or just google "Why you should avoid debt settlement companies" since I am having better success negotiating this on my own. Hopefully the Revdex.com will edit out my personal specific debt information that Expedia Financial wants to expose since hopefully Expedia Financial has a privacy policy in place for clients that turn to them.
