Reinland Auctioneers Reviews (2)

Review: Purchased 99 Dodge 1500 PU #[redacted], either consignment from SFCC or sold from SFCC to Reinland. This product was dangerous to drive him, and it was found to have a track bar that requires replacement, along with tie rods. The auto endangered three occupants and was obviously dangerous to drive. I have requested that Reinland disclosed information from SFCC who would be aware of such a danger. That is the main concern. Reinland put the public at risk. I expect an apology and to be made whole. I want to see this practice of endangering the public discontinued by anyone who obviously is aware of such a problem.Desired Settlement: Cease such dangerous sales by any parties involved. Make party whole. Change selling policy. Repair by owner and refund. Automobile is unsafe and insured by insurance company who will dislike it being such a hazard and danger. Provide consignee or seller's disclosures to the consumer. Apology.

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

List of Defects Exhibit No. 4 was never read or signed by myself. The original page was attached with defects on the backside and attached to the window of the truck; the backside was un-viewable. I had no idea that there was any information on the back of the page taped to the truck.

There was a quick closure of the sale.

I called several times to speak to someone and left messages. No one returned my call.

I did preview some items but there was no one available to show the vehicles. There was little conversation or assistance by the employees thus eliminating any disclosure of the vehicle. There were two people for the preview, and neither of us saw a vehicle driven by anyone. To this date, I have no knowledge of the preview parameters of the vehicles for sale.

There was a mention that Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) was the prior owner of the vehicle. . If SFCC was the owner or a public company, it indicates upkeep of the vehicle to ensure safety to employees and the public. After the purchase and finding the vehicle was impossible to steer on the road, I attempted to retrieve information from SFCC but was unable to do so.

A friend drove this vehicle home; I watched the truck from behind and was fearful that the driver was ill as the truck was all over the road and ultimately would have an accident . The driver improved as he continued the drive and familiarized himself with the problematic truck. There should not be a sale of an automobile that is unsafe on the road.

There is an implied warranty of merchantability which is a warranty implied by law that goods are reasonably fit for the general purpose for which they are sold. Merchantability forms part of the ordinary purpose of the goods.

May 14, 2014, the track bar was replaced and oil changed.

An estimate showed that tie rods require replacement, front axle, differential x 2, transfer case, and transmission. As far as I am concerned, the truck still has more work to be completed. The tie rods need completion, but I was advised, I would have more control with repairing the track bar first. I am still uncomfortable with the play in the wheel, but it is better than it was in the beginning.

Of course, a truck aged 1999 approximately 94,750 miles, requires some work. However, since it was advertised as a public utility truck, it is expected that the truck should function without any personal or public safety issues.

"The most common causes of steering looseness include worn tie rod ends, a worn idler arm or center link (on vehicles without rack and pinion steering), a worn steering gear or a worn steering rack.

Normally, your steering wheel should have no more than about a quarter inch of play. Any more means something is worn or loose and needs to be fixed.

WARNING: Don't put off having your steering looked at because a failure of a critical component could cause loss of steering control!

The inner and outer tie rod ends should have no perceptible looseness. Worn or loose tie rod ends are especially dangerous because if one pulls apart you'll lose steering control. Worn tie rod ends can also cause rapid tire wear." Internet 6/24/2014, [redacted]

Regards,

They don't list any information on their website on when they accept items, other than sometimes a deadline on getting items into their promotional brochure. I have tried twice in the last month and a half to drop items off and have been turned away both times. Quite frustrating when you take the time to load the items up and get there only to find out they won't take them at that time.
The second time I tried, someone who I assume was a boss or manager met me and they were not going to take any items for 2 more days. He seemed to become upset, swore during the conversation and responded, in my opinion, very unprofessionally. I was surprised at what I perceived to be a lack of basic customer service, especially from someone in management!
If they do sell your item, you won't get a check for for a while (seems like it was two weeks or more), which I think is kind of odd.
My recommendation: Save your frustration and time and sell on-line or just use one of the other customer-friendly local auction houses.
