Addison did a poor and incomplete job on my home and left a mess that I have to pay to fix. I think this is unfair and other consumers need to know.
I recently contracted Addison the owner of Relevant Painting to paint my home. I decided to go with him because of the good reviews online. However Addison did not properly paint my walls, I and anyone that comes by to visit can still signs of the old color popping through. He also abandoned the job earlier than quoted and simply told me he can't come back. So now I'm left with two bathrooms to figure out how to get painted or paint on my own. He quoted doing prep work on the walls prior to painting which was never done. His contract stated that he would do the caulking and paint all the trim which was not completed, he said that he would touch the ceiling where needed which wasn't done. I have his footprints all over my furniture and appliances I guess from where he stood on them to reach the high areas. I just had new floors laid and Addison does not protect the floors when he paints so I have paint speckles everywhere which I need to go back in resolve. Paint was left on my floor, furniture and clothes. He does not come prepared with the equipment he needs to do the job. I had to provide him with sandpaper, he wanted to use my spray painter for some areas and he even asked me for a caulking gun. I regret deciding to work with Addison on this project. My recommendation for anyone looking for a painter would be to look elsewhere.

Desired Outcome

I am looking to to be monetarily reimbursed to correct and replace the damage he created.

Hired Addison to Paint Home Exterior. Incomplete job completely unprofessional resulting in damage
I recently hired Addison to paint the exterior of my home 94yr old home as I was lead to believe he was a professional painter familiar w/ restoration. Why else would you carry that in your company name. The home my husband and I just purchased we were not yet moved into so it was vacant when the contractor stopped by to paint. I should have known better than to hire him when he provided a quote over the phone without seeing the property and again when he stopped by to prep the house and stated he didnt have the materials but asked if I would be willing to rental the ladders from the local home depot which I had agreed to. He said it would take 3 days to complete; would start on a Monday be finished by Wednesday. Worked perfect for me as I had gutters being installed that Thurs. He arrived to the house Sunday to 'Prep' the house. The only prep done was he power washed 3 sides of the house downstairs only. When we showed up to the property sunday to meet him (we were not yet moved in) we found his truck parked in my grass on top of our septic tank. We then asked him to move it explained why and addressed that no vehicles are to be parked in the grass. I supplied 10 gallons of exterior paint, 3 gallons of trim paint as well as two tubes of caulk. Monday arrives he calls and says there's a 20ft ladder in my garage and that should reach the peaks could he use that and I could save on the ladder rental. I say sure. No idea how he knew there was a ladder in the garage both doors had been lowered, mind you we're not at the home as I did not believe I would have to babysit painters. I was wrong. He called to say he couldnt get into the garage to get the ladder, I tell him the door on the right was broken and doesnt open he must use the one to the left and I hear nothing further about it. Monday night he called said work would be complete Tuesday but he needs full payment right then and there. My husband assumes Addison was being honest when he said I agreed to that and he pays him. Tuesday arrives and he abandons the job early. He called me 3xs but leaves no message or text that there was an issue. When I finally return the call 45mins later he tells me they're out of trim paint and he left for the day but would return Wed. I drive up to the property to check progress and am just appalled. He said he would caulk, we bought the caulk, it was never used. He claimed he prepped windows prior to painting, he did no such thing. He drove over my septic evident the truck was stuck, damaged my windows as they've been painted shut and wasted the material I paid and provided. He honestly told my husband all work was completed less a few windows. I have a whole side of my second story and chimney not complete. Spilled paint in the yard and open paint containers left to dry out. In addition he attempted to open my garage on the wrong side leaving the door hanging and not saying a word to us

Desired Outcome

I paid a total of 1711.50 for service that looks like a child performed. I am more than happy to allow Addison to maintain his deposit of 466.21 as he showed up for a day and painted however piss poor, however I wish a refund of the balance of 1245.29 as I must now pay for a septic inspection and a professional to fix his poor work.

Addison was referred by my realtor Nicole S and WOW was she right ! In less than a week Addison turned my home into "liquid Gold", transforming from DRAB to FAB...his ideas on color tone and approach left the home with a neutral warm and inviting along with calm that delivered a finished touch that we believe will sell our home. HIs "attention to detail" was amazing, doing it right the 1st time, and when I did the walk thorough with him to review the end result he commented the need to go back over and do additional touch ups I simply did not see...

This is the man to hire if you need it done right the 1st time and in a timely manner. Thank you Addison for making this transformation of our home that we believe will deliver SOLD results....
