We took over management of Autumn Creek Apartments on We received a call shortly thereafter from Ms [redacted] disputing the move out chargesDuring our conversation Ms [redacted] told me that she had never received a copy of her move out statement and was not aware of any outstanding charges until May 2018, when she was contacted by a collections agencyShe told me that she left the apartment in perfect condition and should not owe any moneyHowever, then she told me that she had been trying to get a hold of the office since she moved out and never got a responseAt that time I pulled her file and started to look through the documentation.? I found numerous emails between Ms [redacted] and the previous management staff discussing the move out charges in detail and Ms [redacted] asking for payment arrangementsI asked her about the emails and said that they must have been sent from her son, not herI then let her know that the emails came from her email address and were signed by herShe said that she must have forgotten? she was in contact with the previous managementShe admitted to me that she lived in the apartment for years and smoked in the apartment the entire timeI explained to her that the move out charges were mostly a result in smoke damage throughout the apartment.? Due to the documentation in her file, I am sure Ms [redacted] was aware of this debt and was notified immediately after move out.? Thank you,? ?
