misunderstanding, but the rest is just plain falseI would love to give a detailed response to his statements (which I started to 'write), but I thought better of it since Mr*** has already threatened legal action- (he told my wife when he was leaving after he came back in that he would be calling a lawyer)I called him later that day to clarify the situation and informed him that I would recheck his motor and if I found the problems he was experiencing were caused by a defect in the work we performed it would be taken care of at no chargeHowever if the problem resultedfrom running bad fuel or one of the other issues he was informed of and decline to have repaired, he would be chargedHe informed me that he was going to flush out the fuel tank himself and try it again, I told him to let me know the resultThat was the last I've heard from him.As for his requested outcome, a full refund, that is out of the questionI do not offer that as an option, I do stand behind my work and will always correct any problems resulting from mistakes or defects, but I don't do work and refund the charges (work for free!) unless it's a situation that I can't realistically correct In that case it would be at my discretionAs for overcharging for the work performed, I would ask what boseig that conclusion is made onWhat constitutes overcharging? As for competence; I have been a professional marine technician for 33+ years, have run my own business once before for five years before agreeing to go be a service manager for someone else, and have been in business here for over yearsIf I am so incompetent or whatever other disparaging things he might accuse me of, it seems very strange that I have more business than I can keep up with, and it continues to grow every yearI have had the occasional dissatisfied customer, but overall I think most have been satisfied, and I have many regular repeat customers.Again I would love to say much more but will have to refrain at this timeIf Mr*** would like to take legal action I will respond fully and swiftly, and will be happy to forward my full statement and the results of the case to you upon it's completion. I appreciate your desire to assist in reaching a resolution outside of the legal system, but since you can't guarantee it will stay out of the legal system I must refrain from saying too much. I am rejecting this response because:Even though this business has been in the county for several years, it is also the only one in this county.  This gives them a monopoly on marine repair.  Customers have to go to them or travel to another county for help.  I don't care how long someone is in business, if they can't run the business fairly and honestly, they don't need to be in business.Our boat has been resolved and fixed correctly now since we went to another county for assistance.  We will never do business with Reliable Marine again and we will let our friends and neighbors know about the unfairness and dishonesty we received from them.Since they overcharged and did not do the work that was asked of them and we paid for that work, I will definitely not recommend them to anyone.
