PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW!!
My home warranty company selected Reliable Mechanical Services to fix my heat pump that was no longer providing A/C to my ground floorThe technician, Jason (great guy by the way) came by the first time and replaced a capacitorIt still did not workNext, he suggested it was the condenser, but informed me the Freon in the unit would be $per poundMy warranty company only provides $dollars off per poundIt required nine poundsThe total would be $out of pocket with
Freon and partsThe technician also informed us that we would be refunded the $if that didn't fix the problem The tech came back and installed condenser, and charged it with Freon And I paid the $It still wasn't fixedHe told me they would have to order another part, and had to check with the warranty companyThe warranty company deemed it was worth a second opinionThe other A/C Company came and discovered the unit had a leak and all of the Freon was goneThey decided I needed an entirely new unit
I went back and requested the refund from Reliable Mechanical Services and asked them about the refund, and Jeff (Manager/Owner) told me I would have to contact the warranty company and discuss it with them I called the warranty company and complained, and they told me they have nothing to do with refundsI called Reliable Mechanical Services back and Jeff refused to refund my money saying that he paid for the Freon, and pretty much expressed it was my tough luckThat's just the way thing are, and expressed he would be out of $I'm sorry, I was the one out of $and my A/C still wasn't fixedAnd this was after his technician told me I would be refundedSo I called back the next day, and got in touch with a female worker, Shannon, who was able to get my money refundedShe was greatSo, in the end, she was able to get my money back
And I thought it was all over...but I was wrong
About a week later, Jeff (the owner/manager) calls me, and asks about what the other A/C company found and I told himHe then proceeds to ask me if I was the one who filed a complaint to the warranty companyI was stunned! He proceeded to let me know how it would hurt his business if there was a complaint against himI told him it was about him not refunding my money Again, he told me it usually is between the warranty company and the customerThat's when I got upset, and just stopped talkingAnd he expressed that it was such a kind act for them to refund my moneyNo, it's just good customer service to provide refunds when you can't fix problemsThat's just good business sense And he asked me to retract my complaint! What type of business owner does that? I felt this teetered on harassment and bullyingIt almost felt threateningSo, I in turn, called the warranty company back and filed another complaintAlso, I called my local police department so everything could be officially documentedMy advice is to please stay away from this guy and Reliable Mechanical ServicesHe does his best to not give your money back on jobs he can't completeAlso, he's not certified to install heat pumps in certain homesAnd then has the nerve to ask customers to take back a complaint if they're not happy with his businessWhat type of reputable business person does this? You would think he would want to know how to improve his business, not badger his former customers into retracting complaints
By the way, if it wouldn't have been for the wonderful woman Shannon who answered the phone that day, I don't if I would have ever got my money backSeems like she should be the one running the company instead of JeffAlso, seems like Jeff is the only problem at his company
I really hope he doesn't call me anymore after this review, because I will be call the authoritiesSeems this guy really needs to get his act together

This company has been more than accommodating to me, personally. They serviced my home in Indian Trail before I moved to Concord this year. [redacted] and Jason are wonderful! They take the time to explain everything to me (I don't speak HVAC- so it's difficult for me to understand what's going on!). When I didn't have heat this past winter, I called them - after hours - and they responded immediately! GREAT Service! I would recommend them to anyone!

I am beyond pleased with Reliable Mechanical Services--I was recommended to them by my home warranty company that I use on my listings (Real Estate agent). I was impressed with the work that xxxxx and xxxxx did for my clients but Monday my own personal gas furnace died:( I called xxxxx and xxxxx and they handled everything!!! I am so impressed!! They have a dedicated customer in me and I will recommend them to everyone I come in contact with in my Real Estate business!!!
