Review: The above company was hired to clean our chimney at the end of November. After the work was completed and $460 was paid, the smoke smell remains in our home. [redacted] of the company promised to come back several times to reclean the chimney, but has failed to show. Numerous phone calls are now unanswered by both him and his office. The smoke smell is so strong on wet days, that we cannot stay on the first floor of our home. We have small children and are concerned that they are breathing this smell. It is causing the adults to have burning eyes and sore throats. We didn't want to file this complaint, but we don't know how else to get [redacted] to come back to our home and finish the job he promised to finish.Desired Settlement: Please come to our home and finish properly cleaning the chimney. Thank you.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Reliable Roofing & Chimney Corporation regarding complaint ID [redacted].

In addition, another company came and told me that I didn't even need the top damper installed by Reliable Roofing & Chimney Corporation. I already had a frame for a proper lower damper in my chimney. They installed a door on the frame and charged me only $28. The smoke smell ceased immediately. I wish I had not given Reliable Roofing & Chimney Corporation almost $500 for something I didn't need and that didn't solve the problem.

Compliant id #[redacted] Yes I did a cleaning there but before doing cleaning I explained that he needs to do a chemical cleaning cause a regular cleaning will not take off 3rd degree Creosote. after doing full inspection showed him that his damper was broken and not shutting so he asked if that is why smell is coming in I said its not helping cause its not closing so the down draft was blowing the smell into house also but it will not go away completely until chemical cleaning was done. He only contracted me to do damper and regular cleaning. then called next day saying the smell is still there but not as bad so I explained to him I told him it would not till chemical cleaning was done. so he said he wanted me to come back and clean it again I said I would not be going there unless he contracted me to do chemical cleaning cause I could not waste my time. so he said no so I told him if he did not want me doing it have someone else but that was the only way it was going to be fixed.
