Review: Hello, my name is [redacted] I am writing in response to a bill from Reliance propane. During the month of December, our landlord gave us a gift of 30 gallons of prepaid propane from Reliance Propane. We have never had an account with this company but we did accept the gift and added 40 gallons prepaid. the company was prepaid for a total of 75 gallons and came to our home to fill it; we weren't at home. About 6 weeks later we received a bill from Reliance for an additional 9 gallons because they had overfilled our tank; that is what the rep for reliance propane told us. I felt this was wrong because we specifically prepaid for only 75 gallons. We also spoke to their manager who said they could come suck back out 9 gallons of propane, or we could pay the bill. Here is my concern...if they weren't capable of putting in the 75 gallons specified and prepaid...then might the same thing happen when they try removal. how can we be sure of what they are taking out? We are on a very limited income, like so many others, which is why we prepay for goods when we can. Said propane had already been used by the time they sent us a bill. My concern is that I feel they should have honored our original payment and request for exactly 75 gallons. I have no way of knowing if this isn't common practice for them...to fill tanks fuller than the customer paid for...and then bill that customer, thus making more money. An additional 30 $ is what they claim we have to pay...this could really add up to an additional and quite lucrative way for them to dishonestly make extra money. mm Thanks very much for your time. Respectfully, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I don't want anything from them...I simply do not want their mistake to effect my credit.

We apologize that you have been burdened with this, but we had no notice from the customer of this dispute.

As the customer has stated, 30 gallons of propane was ordered as a gift from their landlord and the customer prepaid for an additional 35 gallons totaling an order of 75 gallons. We delivered a total of 84 gallons. The customer was delivered an extra 9 gallons which was a mistake and not a common practice.

The delivery occurred on 12/18/14 and the customer was left a bill. The customer contacted us 2/6/14 after receiving our second statement. We offered to pump out the 9 gallons as an option that the customer refused. We reduced the price per gallon for the entire delivery, waived late charges and the customer agreed to make payment at that point. We have made numerous attempts by phone and in writing to contact the customer with no response. With this lack of response, our office was unaware of this customer’s dissatisfaction. This account went into our normal collection procedures.

At this point, we’ve all invested more time and effort than collecting this amount is worth. The balance of $24.75 will be reversed from their account and no collection procedures will be taken. Hopefully this will rectify the problem for this customer.
