The service Ren D.provided for us was awesome

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from Reliance Yanch Heating and Air Conditioning in October
Upon moving into a new home, I signed up for the Reliance Home Comfort and Maintenance Plan and scheduled a routine furnace cleaning to have a fresh start Technician "Ken" attended and proceeded to tell me that there was a major problem with my furnace: he said the heat exchanger was cracked and told me I was witnessing a "flame rollout" through the window of my furnace (that turned out to be my pilot light) and that carbon monoxide poisoning was imminent He was vehement that I required a new furnace immediately, and promptly made an appointment for the sales rep to visit
We decided to get a second and third opinion, and both external technicians confirmed that there was no crack in the heat exchanger, no current flame rollout and therefore no immediate danger Correspondence with Reliance management was frustrating as they claimed there was no harm done because the technician merely told me the heat exchanger was cracked instead of also writing it down in his report They alluded to Ken being a more junior technician, said what he told me was "hearsay" i.eI lied, misheard or somehow imagined his diagnosis on my own (!) and concluded that it was "poor communication", all the while denying any culpability for his misrepresentation of the truth They claimed that since the furnace is older and may need replaced soon, it was acceptable for the tech to make those statements - however saying it is broken and dangerous now vswill be in the future are two very different things with thousands of dollars of difference to the consumer based on the outcome
I fear that this sort of scare tactic is employed more than people know in an effort for staff to earn commission and for sales of new furnaces to rise Despite refunding the plan fee, Reliance remained unwilling to acknowledge their transgression, so I am putting this out there so others are forewarned
Get a second opinion! Research other companies

We have had an excellent experience with Reliance/Yanch service
1)We received an appointment confirmation by email
2) The technician called before the appointed time
3) The repair was done efficiently
4) The technician had slippers and a mat to protect our carpet
5) He vaccuumed and cleaned the entire area around the gas fireplace
6) He was friendly, the bill was fair, and we were able to pay on the spot
Kudos to DAN ! Great service like this is hard to find these days

Dan H. was the rep that did our geothermal service over the last couple of years. He is a very knowledgeable and pleasant to speak with. He called ahead, set up , laid carpets down and I never would of known he had been in and out with all his equipment. Also went over and above by leaving his card with his number and said if we had any geothermal questions to feel free to call him. Great service.

I was extremely pleased with Ryan G. He was very helpful and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend Reliance and especially Ryan.
