September 12, 2017Revdex.comViewridge Avenue #200San Diego, CA RE: RELIANT LAW CENTERTo whom it may concern:The Revdex.com sent me a complaint notification for a defunct company, Reliant Law Center regarding *** ***The complaint as explained below
should never have been sent to me in the first instance It was clearly a mistake Even though the complaint was sent by mistake, there was an initial response sent back to the Revdex.com on August 14thI had not become aware of the complaint until August For whatever reason, the Revdex.com did not recognize the response so I am sending this letter Please also understand that there have been a number of factors that have caused delay There were serious medical issues with an elderly family member, a previously scheduled trip outside of the United States and two hurricanes which caused us to focus on people affiliated with other businesses who were in serious trouble I had also requested your general counsel to send me copies of any complaints, but he never didThis further delayed any responseAlthough the complaint was about Reliant Law Center, to the extent there was any basis for a complaint which in my view there is not, the complaint targeted the wrong entity It should have been directed to *** *** who did the work and therefore is ultimately responsible for what transpired However, as explained below, there is even no basis for a complaint against *** *** either since no one did anything wrong and Ms*** received precisely what she contracted for and was advised of all of the risks both orally and in writing before she entered into the loan modification programMs*** appears to wrongly be under the impression she contracted for someone renegotiate her mortgage This was not the case The contract she signed in simple language explained it was for a loan modificationLoan modification is a specific term of art and relates to legislation enacted during the Obama administration which required certain banks to give certain consumers relief on their home mortgages In the contract Ms*** signed, the term loan modification was defined in the contract to include a loan restatement In fact, despite serious problems with dealing with her and her lender, Ms*** received a loan restatementAccordingly, the terms of the contract were fulfilled even if Ms*** did not like the ultimate outcomeMs*** therefore had no basis to file a complaint against anyoneMoreover, Ms*** also has to acknowledge that the ultimate decision maker on the terms of any modification is the lender As is well known, banks like *** *** and *** ** *** have been on the losing side of large class action lawsuits where they have mistreated consumers In this instance as well as many others involving others who seek to modify a home mortgage, the banks often sabotage any effort to obtain a modificationMs*** entered into a contract for loan modificationThe name on the contract was Reliant Law CenterOther than reviewing the file for suitability and the submission made to the a lender which a Reliant lawyer admitted in the state where Ms*** did flawlessly, all of the work was handled by a subcontractor, *** ***The contract specifically identified and allowed for sub-contractingNeither I nor Reliant Law Center has ever had any ownership in *** *** or any responsibility for *** ***Consequently, the complaint is clearly directed at the wrong partyMoreover, *** *** has an obligation for indemnification for its actions.*** *** properly did its job spending countless hours trying to procure approval of a loan modification It experienced issues dealing with the lender as referenced above as well as with Ms*** herself In the end, even though there was a loan restatement obtained in satisfaction of the contract obligations, and the obligations under the contract satisfied, everyone involved who provided services lost money because this was so labor intensive and so many issues with the lender and working with Ms***People could have given upThey did not and to their credit despite the economics deliveredMs*** was advised from the get go, her situation was more difficult than most and there was a strong likelihood she would not be granted any form of a modification by her lenderYet, she made the decision to move forward. After carefully reviewing the contract, it is clear that even though everyone lost money and the odds of obtaining a modification were very low, Ms*** received the benefit of her bargain receiving an offer of restatement and was treated appropriately in every respectAccordingly, the complaint is wrongly filed no only against the wrong party but the filing of any complaint is wrongI can understand that Ms*** may be unhappy, but she herself was responsible for the situation that lead her to contract for a loan modification and for her actions in the processAt the time Ms*** signed her contract, she was advised of all of the risks including the possibility of losing her home and the possibility that it may not be possible to achieve a modification or receive a modification in the form she wanted These warnings were not only made orally, but were also made in writing in the contractThe issues with dealing with lenders and with the failure of clients to cooperate are also prominently placed in the contract Likewise, the contract even has an obligation of good faith The filing of the complaint would not appear to be in good faithAgain, everything was carefully disclosed orally and in writing Reliant is a defunct company and has been effectively out of business for over a yearif there was a complaint against Reliant, it should have been sent much soonerReliant Law Center has not taken on any clients in more than a year and is essentially wound downVery soon it should be inactive with the Secretary of StateFor a claim to be submitted now is simply wrong.*** *** was also responsible for closing out all of the files and interfacing with all consumers In the entire time *** *** provided services, it diligently worked to provide consumers with high quality serviceIt had an outstanding recordThe complaint of Ms*** do not fit with the overall performance and makes no sense.I was a passive owner of Reliant Law Center and was trying to help out two lawyers who were in the process of getting admitted into the California BarThese two lawyers were responsible for the day to day operations including managing bank accounts and handled all of the business affairs without exceptionThe two lawyers are *** *** and *** *** Their e-mail addresses if you should require more information are respectively as follows: nima@***.com and ***@***.comMr*** and Mr*** were also the sole owners of *** *** Company who was the primary subcontractor who did all of the work excluding the suitability assessment and legal review of submissions.I was supposed to ultimately transfer the ownership of Reliant Law Center to these two gentlemen and completely step away They were running Reliant Law CenterMy experience made it easier to establish bank accounts and get the business startedMr*** and Mr*** decided they did not want to be in the business long term and opted to wind things down insteadIn the wind down process, Mr*** and Mr*** and *** *** made sure every person who had signed an agreement including Ms*** was processed and handled until their matter was completed All consumers including Ms*** were properly servedIn summary, after reviewing the facts, I see no basis for the complaintIf there was a complaint, it should have been filed against *** *** and not ReliantThe consumer received what was promised There are no more assets remaining in Reliant Law Center and it is no longer operational If Ms*** has further questions, she should contact *** ***I trust this matter is now closedSincerely,/*** ***/*** ***

We do not recommend Reliant Law Center. Due to our experience, all they did was push paper and they were never looking out for our best interest. They did not fight on our behalf with the bank in order to resolve our issue. They just accepted what the bank proposed and did not find solutions or answers. We know that there are no guaranties of the outcome, but they did not do one thing for us.
Besides an email stating that they left a message with so and so etc., we have no proof of anything that has been done to assist us. We have left several messages with our assigned representative to schedule a conference call and no response. We are very upset and disappointed and would not recommend Reliant Law Center to anyone.

To whom this may concern,Unfortunately this industry is heavily scrutinized and rightfully so, as homeowners are in a very distressful situation and require help and guidance in order to achieve a positive result. Thankfully we keep very detailed notes as to what we do on our back end in order to...

successfully reach a resolution for our clients. Notes for [redacted]:September 19: called and spoke to borrower requesting all documents.Sept. 22: received some documents, borrower is informed that there are missing documents and that we need them in order to move forward. Oct. 3: received final documentsOct. 17: client has been informed that there is a clear lack of communication on her partOct. 24: follow up call with lender (we do this periodically to make sure nothing has changed as far as the borrower's status and insure there is no sales date pending)Oct. 27: spoke to bank of am[redacted] again to verify details because of the transfer of borrowers loan to [redacted]Oct. 31: Borrower made partial payment to us for past due balanceNov. 3: client partial payment was returned from the bank (check bounced)Nov. 11: continuing to follow up with borrower with no response, new/updated borrower's authorization is needed because of transfer of loan to [redacted]Nov. 22: called borrower again to request updated docs included new Loan Number because of Loan transfer Nov. 30: spoke with borrower ([redacted])December: client is informed that there is a major lack of communication on their part and that we need payment. Dec. 21: requested new updated documents from borrower for [redacted] Dec. 29: followed up with borrower regarding docsJan. 11: followed up with borrower, still have not received docsJan 19: followed up with [redacted] to insure borrower loan has not fallen into a ‘sales date’ status, was informed by Wendy from [redacted] that they still have not received updated BA form (which was requested from borrower many times)Jan 20: Docs still not received Jan 20-27: contacted borrower on multiple occasions Jan 27: received updated BA from borrowerJan 30: spoke with [redacted] from [redacted] they stated the BA was received and would be uploaded within 72 hoursFeb 8: Spoke with [redacted] from [redacted] - file in review This is a brief synopsis of what transpired on our end. It is extremely difficult at times to explain to a distressed homeowner the amount of time and efforts it takes in order to prepare all updated documents. Unfortunately lenders are constantly requesting new and updated documents as things “expire” in their eyes, this is why it is very urgent that borrowers stay in constant contact with us in order to get documents as needed. We do everything in our power to stay in touch with lenders/services in order to make sure borrower's loss mitigation efforts are resolved.I am extremely sorry that [redacted] feels that she did not reach an amicable solution with our services, however I can insure you much work was done on our end including attorney review and oversight. We will not be able to issue her a refund at this time. Warmest regards
