Correct, I did read it and as I said, other roofers said, and your supervisor thoughtIt was NOT the skylight leakingLets NOT forget the skylight you admitted leaked due to poor installation. You have no idea how much water came in through the roofs it multiple placesPuddles on the floor - pooling upLeaking to the crawl space below. The mold that may have spawned up. Terrible conditions for my son who has asthmaThe damage it did to my ceilings, floors, paintI was assured by your supervisor all of this would get fixedI trusted it was not a game & I had his wordI'll get back to youI have my attorney reviewing the situation

In response: There was no note left in the door therefore I had no idea any of your people have been to my homeI do see that you secured the siding, the way it should have been in the first placeThanksI would have preferred you fixed the leaking roof before you secured the siding though since that is the issueSix weeks ago your foreman stood on my roof and sprayed water directly on the roof were it meets the houseWe both witnessed water rapidly leaking thru the area where the roof meets the house NOT thru the sidingHe tried adjusting the old flashing and added a couple tubes of caulking all over the place but that did not helpDuring initial installation there was no effort by the installation crew to re-flash or apply any barrier at the junction where the house and roof meetUse of IKO or ice dam barriers are in the proposalI specifically mentioned the leak as a main reason for the roofs installationIt appears that information never reached the laborersThey simply shingled up to the original 20year old flashingI’ve been patiently dealing with Express's stall tactics and now denials of workmanship responsibility for monthsIn the meantime I’ve had to pay $for professional pest control because of carpenter ant invasion as well as an unknown amount of potential sheathing damage from moisture to the side of the house in questionHow hard can it be for a sizeable operation that averages a roof or two a day to fix this problem correctly and neatly with the results I requested ?

to read extremely detailed estimate from the work we're performing,warrantees of what is covered and not coveredAs indicated on the message we received was complaints about the skylightsFirst of all we did not install the skylights these are to -year-old skylights that are leaking not the roof but from the old skylightsWe have written on our page estimate that our customer signed that we do not warranty old skylights.The original skylights on this roof to years old even if customer was to purchased brand-new skylights The manufacture of the skylights say for instance *** which in my opinion is the best skylight on the market will give the homeowner a year leak proof warrantyBut as noticed by the complaint he did not have money for new skylights so they were not replaced As far as the warranty for years that he does mention that is not on the estimate at all but there is a Limited warranty from *** *** on The estimate for materials and labor but that does not include old to 30-year-old skylights.he also mentions that we said these were defective skylights these are not the defective skylights these are old skylights that actually have water between the glass also condensation

I had received an email saying this case was closed by the Revdex.com however the contractor did not address the problem at handI am confused as to why the case was closed when I replied that was NOT satisfied with the businesses response. We went out there several times after the job was completed and explain to the customer that the water was coming in through the siding his response was The company he had hired to do the siding did not do a very good jobThis complaint has nothing to do with the new roof system we put down The
water is coming through the sidingThe first day after the complaint was made to the Revdex.com we were out there the next day working on his siding which had nothing to do with that job we did for the roof and clipped his siding back in and worked on that at no charge to himWe also left a note in his door saying we were working at his house

Yes, I read the estimate & where it said skylights are not covered under warrantee. When I saw that I said. No problem. My skylights are NOT leaking… I was not asked to install new skylights. I was not told the skylights would be an issue. The 2 skylights out of 3 only started to leak after the new roof was installed. How ironic. Furthermore, other roofers from the area came out to inspect the areas in question. They said it’s clear that during the install – the installers messed up. They had to plug the area around the skylight. The skylight itself is not leaking. You also admitted there was an install issue with the skylight on the 2nd floor. You said they found a nail under one of the tabs and that caused the leak. I haven’t been compensated for that leak either. While your guys tried to find the leak around the skylight for 9 months, he told me. Don’t worry. [redacted] will take care of this for you. You’re a good customer. Oh and a repeat customer. This is the second roof I had installed by Express Roofing & the first roof on the other house leaked as well. (no skylights) But I worked with you. Your guys repaired the leak & I fixed the ceiling. I was reassured this would get resolved. I was asked to get estimates for you to review. I did that and when you saw the numbers. You said – nope sorry – not my issue… Additionally my roof leaked again in a different spot (not near a skylight). So, clearly there is an issue with the installation.

We have not heard back from the customer after we fixed the siding. If there is still a problem we need to know so we can go back out and correct whatever the problem is.
