This email is being written in response to complaint #[redacted].   The key provided to us by the [redacted] was tagged immediately with the address[redacted], therefore the key was not mistaken for another property on our part. The key did not fit the locks on the home. We did attempt to call...

the [redacted], however as they stated in their complaint the phone number given to us has been disconnected.  The only way to gain access to the home was to change the locks.  I have the original key and the locks that were removed from the home should the [redacted] want the key returned to them.  Mrs. [redacted] expressed she would like the key in case it was the key to their new home which they had mistakenly given to us.  In addition, there were keys left under the garage remotes on the kitchen counter which were different from the one provided to us by the [redacted].  We were not told there were keys left in the home, these were discovered after the locks has been changed.
In closing we do not have a “master” key for any of our homes.  We hope this explanation resolves the issue.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
There are several reasons I reject the response.  First of all in their response there are several false statements. Mrs [redacted] did not admit we gave them the wrong key. That statement is simply not true. At the time when we turned in the key we did in fact tell them that extra keys and the garage door openers were on the kitchen counter, which is exactly where they were when we moved in. We were told that was fine. I know several people that rent properties, from apartments to houses to business property and every one of them have a master key to all of the property they rent. I find it hard to believe they do not have extra keys to any of the property they are in charge of managing.  [redacted] has never been in any conversations we have had about the key issue. I do not believe I have ever meet her or had any conversation with her. She was not there and has no right twisting the comments around to suit her needs. When we rented the house we were in the process of moving from Kansas City to Kingman. We had tried to purchase a house but we were outbid and did not get the house we wanted to purchase. We had to be out of our house by the end of September so I made a mistake that I know I should not have done. I chose to rent a house sight unseen. When we signed the lease we were told about the former tenant and that they had ruined the carpet and that new carpet would be installed before we moved in.  We have pictures of how bad the carpet is. When we arrived at the house the carpet was still a mess. When we asked we were told that they had decided not to change the carpet after all. I did not complain because I had made the mistake of signing the lease sight unseen. At the time I knew that was the wrong thing to do but I did think that by renting through a management company we would be treated better than if we had rented through other options. Obviously I was wrong about that too. We rented for 6 month. We paid our rent on time and gave them more than 30 days notice as to when we would be moving out. We were notified that we were being charged $25.00 for cleaning, $75.00 for yard work, $125.00 for keys and $10.00 for changing a bedroom door key. We went to their office and of course [redacted] was not there. We were given a refund for the $10.00 charge to change the bedroom key. I asked to see a receipt for the work that was done and I was told they did not have a receipt yet but when they received one I could see it. How do you know how much to charge for work that you cannot even prove was completed. I am sure that since we asked they probably do now have a receipt. It has been proven to me that at best they are completely unethical and that their word means nothing I do not believe I have any reason to believe anything they say. Add that to the fact that I am 100% positive I gave them the same key that they gave us when we rented the property I reject the response.
