Rembrandt Construction, Inc. Reviews (3)

My wife of 15 years surprised me with a new kitchen island this past week for my birthday. As an avid cook I never have enough space and although I like the butcher block look of the add-in islands it did not fit our kitchen so she made a few calls and found Rembrandt Countertops, a local company that was able to take a pre-made base unit and add granite to the top so that is matched much closer in my kitchen. Now I can chop and cook to my hearts content and it is all thanks to my lovely wife and the staff at Rembrandt.

My 87 year old mother in law lives with us and twice she has almost fallen trying to step into the tub/shower. Something had to be done immediately. I looked at kits on line and at Home Depot and thought that my son and I could get this done on our own. We figured we could do it in a weekend and spend about $2000 on the kit, pan and door. But when looking closer at the three panel kits I started to have some concern about doing all this and then having leaks and resultant mold in the wall. So I bit the bullet and hired a professional.

I did my research on Angie's List and other places. I talked to about six companies, viewed their info on their websites and received bids from three. Amazingly they were all within 10% of each other so it came down to gut feelings. One of the companies had a small kiosk in [redacted] and thought that they would be completely vetted by [redacted]. But doing my own research while I did not find anything derogatory about them they did not have a contractors license in their name by were operating under the license of another company. So I would be paying one company but if anything went wrong I would have to go after the other company for restitution? I am not a lawyer but this just didn't sound right to me. The other company was some what brusk and really didn't want to spend time talking with us about options. So we went with Rembrandt and I cannot be happier. Russ, co-owner and an assistant worked for a week getting it done.

The wall panels were custom made as was the pan and has a granite look to it but is more like Corian. After the tub and surround were out, Russ had to move the drain which was buried in the concrete slab. This took most of a day to jack hammer it out and then put a new one in. When any work was being done that was dusty they had the shop-vac going so no dust got into the house. After each days work the bathroom was cleaned and ready for use.

BTW we run two businesses out of our house and they were very respectful of making noise while we were on the phone. Being in the house while they were working I would pop my head in to check on their progress and sometimes Russ would be working through an unforeseen problem. You never know what you are going to find when you open a wall but he always came up with solutions.

Russ also put in 2x6 blocking in the wall for grab bars and a fold down teak seat. He made careful measurements of where the blocking was so that he would be sure to hit it when installing the grab bars.

The new sliding doors were installed today and everything is wonderful.

Russ and the rest of the crew from Rembrandt Baths were exceptional and we are already talking to them about redoing the master bath and new counter tops in the kitchen. I am so glad I did not try to tackle this myself, it's a bigger job then you think. Give them a call you will not be disappointed.

I wanted to let everyone know what a great guy Howard is. We had our counters installed over 2 years ago but when one of our cooks decided to stand on the counter causing it to crack at the seam Howard sent one of this guys in to take care of it under warranty! Wow that was more than we expected but it seems every time I work with Rembrandt Construction they wow me. Thanks again to Howard and the whole staff for their great customer service.
