on the truck but told her we could get her one, if that's what she wanted. She stated that she wanted exactly the kind she already had. We returned the next day with the Honeywell Programmable Thermostat like the one she already had. After installing the thermostat, we asked her what program she wanted us to set. She said she didn't want the thermostat programmed and to put it in the hold position so she could move it up and down as needed. ( She had her old thermostat in the hold position as well.) We advised her that if she wasn't going to program the thermostat, we could take the new one off and replace the programmable thermostat with a less expensive thermostat on the wall. However, she said she wanted to keep that Honeywell programmable thermostat because she may want to program it later for future usage. Therefore, we gave the customer what she wanted. She was aware that the programmable thermostat was more expensive that a regular digital thermostat. We only charged her for one hour service call, even though it involved two trips to her home. He son called several weeks later with a question about the invoice. He was not happy about her having a programmable thermostat on the wall. We explained to him that the thermostat she already had was a Honeywell Programmable thermostat and she requested the new thermostat to be the same as her old one. He wouldn't listen to what we were trying to tell him. We charged her for 1 hour service call, 1 thermostat that she specifically requested, and the required labor tax.
