The complaint is untrueShe omits that the fee represented handling both a criminal matter and an employment issue. The fee was very reasonable. My investigation and communications with the prosecutor resulted in the DA dismissing the charges against
her, and she was able to keep her job. On September 27, 2016, I assisted her with an employment issue. On November 11, 2016, at 3:20p.m., the client asked me to lend her money, as shown by the text as follows: I don't want to sound desperate but is there anyway that I could get half of the funds I paid you so that I can pay bills, I can have the for you in January before the next court date. Remainder of text omitted to avoid revealing her place of employment. On November 11, 2016, at 3:p.m., I responded: I understand that State Bar Rules of Texas prohibit a lawyer from lending money to clients. Lending money to a client is prohibited by State Bar Rule The client responded to the text acknowledging she understood that she was asking to borrow money from me, and not requesting a refund
