Sold with a Good MotorSorry We do not offer Refunds

Notwithstanding the as is designation on this automobile we had reconditioned, rebuilt, replaced and refurbished this one owner extremely Low mileage collector classic car with all it needed that we knew of, including new cltch, pressure plate and throwout bearing, new thermostat, new convertible soft top, new tires and more to the total of almost $ The customer wanted the car and because we had performed all the services we could do on it to make it like it was when he test drove , inspected and purchased it, we sold it to him for the $Price he negotiated us down toThis is not a new car by any stretch of the term so given that we felt that he got a very good car for a very good price People that own Cars like these I have seen spend many hundreds and sometimes thousands as we did to restore them and not always recoup that investment as we see hereIf you want a new car you need to buy one, if you buy a car you can t tell me you expect it to be brand new too The customer never contacted me after the days after he bought it asking for anythingI did contact him to get my collector classic plate back and I didThank youHaving spent what I've done on it I feel I've done everything I can to be a responsible seller and now it's up to the customer to continue the restoration to have himself a cute ,clean, rust free sports car which he can be proud of

No refund then can they pay to fix the engine or at least pay half? They said they pay 3k plus for tune up how the timing belt broke so they lying and on the ad said traction control when the traction control not work so the advertising

On this type of specialty automobile the customer was made aware at time of purchase and also said he had previously owned one like it before that as modified as it was that emissions was not going to conform. The timing belt slipped according to the customer's mechanic. ( no receipts provided by him), however timing belts on the 2011 Subaru Impreza according to the manufacturer's specs aren't due until 105,000. This car had 58k miles on it at time of sale. Due diligence and responsible consumer protection was exercised in this transaction. Warranty was provided at no extra charge to insure customer's satisfaction as requested by him at time of delivery. The automobile was functioning properly when he test drove it and bought it and for days and miles afterwards. He is not being truthful about his actions and I'm sorry about that but I cannot cover repairs that weren't due to any condition existing at the time we sold it. Therefore it his his fault and his responsibility to maintain his car as necessary. Having provided the necessary items for the car to function properly which it did at the time of sale we are not required to provide receipts along with the car.

Timing Belt slip can happen at any time to any car. Unpredictable. Timing Belt Services on Subaru aren't due until @ 100k miles. This car had 58k miles on it when sold. Customer stated he had one like this before and knew about them. Whether he was listening or not I told him it was a highly modified performance vehicle and had Thousands of $$$ of upgrades on it, which is why he liked it so much. As I said we drove it and it was not a car with any mechanical problems when he drove it and bought it. I am very sorry for his troubles but I cannot help him if it is not perfect. He paid half of what a new one equipped equally costs and got a Warranty included at that @ $4000.discounted price he paid. There is nothing I can do.

I am rejecting this response because:  That response is stating that all that work was done, but I am being told by a neutral third party mechanic that there are serious mechanical issues with the car.  As an FYI, the mechanic also stated that no work should be done on the car as it is not worth it.  It is not like he was trying to procure more business from me.  I understand that the owner of the dealership did some work on the car, which makes it even more suspect that he would not be aware of the nature of the condition of the engine.  Had I known that the engine was in that condition I would never have purchased the car.
Sincerely,

I don't know what to do any more give me some advice because clearly you can see he dishonest and make up excuses. If the put 3k plus to do tune up timing belt should be new and everything should be the way it should but I have 3 different auto shop saying the same thing and one auto shop said this car is not safe to drive due to gas line assemble all wrong and safety feature not work due to traction control and I'm willing to provided the auto shop numbers and all the text from the owner [redacted] if u guy need. Will u recommend me hire an attorney for this?

Notwithstanding the as is designation on this 1979 automobile we had reconditioned, rebuilt, replaced and refurbished this one owner extremely Low mileage collector classic car with all it needed that we knew of, including new cltch, pressure plate and throwout bearing, new thermostat, new convertible...

soft top, new  tires and more to the total of almost $6000.  The customer wanted the car and because we had performed all the services we could do on it to make it like it was when he test drove , inspected and purchased it, we sold it to him for the $4350. Price he negotiated us down to. This is not a new car by any stretch of the term so given that we felt that he got a very good car for a very good price.  People that own Cars like these I have seen spend many hundreds and sometimes thousands as we did to restore them and not always recoup that investment as we see here. If you want a new car you need to buy one, if you buy a 1979 car you can t tell me you expect it to be brand new too.  The customer never contacted me after the days after he bought it asking for anything. I did contact him to get my collector classic plate back and I did. Thank you. Having spent what I've done on it I feel I've done everything I can to be a  responsible seller and now it's up to the customer to continue the restoration to have himself a cute ,clean, rust free sports car which he can be proud of.

I categorically reject any implications as to the condition of the engine. It drove for me the whole time we had it and all the work that was done had no bearing on the motor because it did not need the work the customer states here. I had no prior knowledge of any defects in the engine as of the time we sold the car. Absolutely Not.  A 1979 [redacted] which has a [redacted] Book Value in the condition this one was in of $8000+ but to  according to the customer's 3rd Party Mechanic may not be worth the $6000 we had in it. That's why we sold it for the $4350. to accommodate his offer and acceptance in the negotiating process but not because of any hidden reasons or agenda.  We have been in business here for 8 1/2 Years selling if not perfect Used Cars, serviceable autos as old as 1959 which people buy to fix up which is what we would expect with a 1979 English Automobile.

I am rejecting this response because:  I paid asking price for the car.  I did not negotiate nor haggle to that price.  I know that the owner did pay to have the car worked on, but I was not aware of how much was paid.  I would like to see receipts detailing the claimed amount the owner of the dealership put on the car ($6,000).  But none of this is the point.  The owner of the dealership is using a red herring to distract from the principal issue.  He told me prior to the purchase of the car that it was in sound mechanical condition.  I am being told that it is far from it and I will speak to the mechanic to have him provide to me, in writing, a detailed list of why the car is not in sound mechanical condition.  As to the owner claiming he was unaware of said issues is a little difficult to fathom as he appeared, during the time I was at his establishment, quite knowledgeable about engines and what not.  If need be I will take the car to another mechanic and get a second opinion, in writing.  My point is that I was sold a defective item, even though I was told it was not defective.  I understand completely the concept of "as is", but had I known the true condition of the car I would not have bought it.  Firs,t the argument of the owner of the dealership was that I knew what I was getting into, now the claim is that the owner of the dealership put a lot of money into the car prior to sale and that he had no knowledge of the severity of the poor condition of the engine.  My response to that is, if all that work was done, why was the issue with the condition of the engine never found?
Sincerely,

Thank you.h[redacted]and [redacted] These are links to one of the many [redacted]s Available for sale on [redacted] Motor News showing the possible Value as compared to the one had paid $4350. for. The facts as he stated as to his mechanic's opinion of the Value of the car he bought are just an opinion. The one he bought here was A 1 owner, Original paint, NEW clutch, NEW Tires and NEW Convertible Top. ( All Receipts Available) I believe his expectations to be unrealistic, I sold him a car that I made serviceable through hard long work and expense. It worked until the day I sold it to him.  [redacted]Remington West Co LLC
