Sat the 19 I found this company on Home Adviser, com. I'm looking to have my roof replaced so I called the 800 hundred number and talked to a Bernard. Even though he was in Maryland he told me he had a local rep in the area. I live in central Virginia. So we set the meeting up for Tuesday the 21st at 10:30 am. Monday he called me back to confirm the date and time for the sales rep to show up. He asked for my wife to join us. I told him that my wife works and I will be making the dissension as to who gets the job. He told me it was against his company policy not to include the wife of the sales meeting. He told me he would check with management and call me back within the hour. Needless to say he never did. I called later that day and nobody would pick up.

So I got a hold of him this morning and he told me nobody will show up today because my wife will not be there. So I thanked him for not informing of the cancellation and told I was submitting a not so flattering review. After seeing the reviews here and other sites they will not be coming on my property.

Review: I made contact with the company at the [redacted] county fair. I signed up to win a free basement remodel. Within a few days this company started calling my cell phone and not leaving messages. When I called them they told me they had no clue who in their company had called me and could not help me. It happened a number of times so I asked that I be removed from their call list. That was six (6) requests ago. Yes I have requested to be removed from their system 6 times and yet I keep getting calls. I am on the do not call list and since I have asked them to stop and they keep calling, I dont owe them money and I dont have a business relationship with them they are violating the do not call law at this point. I dont know what else to do at this point. Please help me.Desired Settlement: I would like this business to stop its deceptive practices in order to lure in customers and then harrass them.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I had been told 3 times before that I was removed from their call list. Without some kind of written proof or communication and explination as to why this company continued to harrass me I cannot accept what was before and most likely is now a lie. This situation is much like the boy who cried wolf. If they want me to believe they will not violate federal law continuously they need to prove it to me in a way that is not the same method they gave me in the first 6 attempts. It is the responsibility of the company to maintain their records accurately and comply with federal law before legal actions or messages from the Revdex.com become involved. Perhaps train employees to leave messages on answering machines or create a call log of outgoing calls so that sales people can be identified so that we as consumers who are being called are not so disenfranchised with the company that we refuse to work with them. Its just bad buisness to keep calling and not identified oneself and then when asked by the complaining consumer to have a manager or the owner make contact with them to make sure this harrassment is stopped to completely ignore them. How about this, if I dont recieve another call from you all ever again I will consider this matter settled but at this time, because this company simply lies to hide behind violations of the national do not call list I cannot accept this response because I view it as simply another lie until such time has passed that proves this response to be genuine.

Review: I entered a contest in late March to win a free [redacted] Basement remodel. Several days later I received a phone call from a Remodel USA salesman offering to do a quote for a Basement Remodel, I told him that I could not afford to have any work done and did not want a quote. He continued to try to convince me to get the quote and I finally had to hang up on him. Soon after that I began getting phone calls from Remodel USA (###-###-####), the phone will only ring two or three times and then the person hangs up. I went online (remodelusa.com) and found that this company has numerous customer complaints similar to mine. I've started keeping track of these calls, the last two calls were on 4/17 @ 10:51am and 4/19 @ 10:57am. I've been on the Do Not Call list for years but no one seems to check it.Desired Settlement: I want these phone calls to stop and this company to stop harassing me and other customers.

Review: Remodel USA, Inc. in [redacted], Maryland is relentless in their pursuit of new business, to the point where they make so many calls to my home, it is borderline harassment. On at least two occasions, they have called my home four times during the day. I have called and asked them three times to stop with their phone calls, and it should be quite apparent to them that I do not want their business. On two occasions, they assured me that my number would be removed from their call list. They call my home at least once a day, and they have for at least 2-3 months. Fortunately, I haven't received any notifications concerning unauthorized inquiries to my credit reports, which many have complained about already, but I suppose I would also ask for them to refrain from even thinking about that.Desired Settlement: I am not looking for apologies, I just do not want them to continue calling me. I do not want their business, and based on my experiences with them, probably never will.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

However, since I first filed the complaint, Remodel USA has called my home at least four times, with the most recent call on 27 September 2013. From this point on, I will keeping a watchful eye on who calls my home, and I will document each and every time Remodel USA calls my home on those times that they may have a momentary lapse in better judgment and "accidentally" call my home. If I am home when they call, I will answer the phone to let them know what I doing. In other words, I will build my case against them for a potential lawsuit. Unfortunately, I just don't trust them.

As I stated in my original complaint: I've asked them three times on my own to remove me from their call list. Twice they said they would. What was the end result there? They ignored me, and forced me to file a formal complaint with you folks at the Revdex.com. Hopefully this is resolved, but I have my doubts. As an added cautionary measure, I have saved my own copy of their response to this complaint.

Regards,

March 9, 2015 - Although the finished project looks good (minus three outstanding issues), I had to put in much more effort than I should have. There was poor communication among all of the employees: from sales rep to project manager to installer. No design plan or layout was done. I had asked for pictures of the fixtures I had chosen, but nothing was ever sent to me. The medicine cabinet I had chosen was discontinued, but no one told me until a different medicine cabinet showed up. How could they have ordered it and not told me until the product showed up? The bathroom sink faucet I had selected was a single faucet. What showed up and how the granite had been cut, was for separate hot and cold. Again, they made this mistake early on if the granite was cut wrong. I wanted a vanity with drawers or storage. They never consulted me about specific details and ordered one without any drawers. The installer lied to me and said that a replacement vanity (with drawers) had been ordered, and that it would take two weeks to show up. He said he hoped to be the one that installs the replacement one since he will know how to tear out the current one. The existing vanity he just installed would have to come out, so he said he didn't put the finishing touches on it (no kick plate was installed or caulking on the backsplash). I can't tell what else is missing (reinforcement? caulk?). When I explained all this to the project manager, he said that no replacement had been or will be ordered. Besides, the installer had no authority to order a new one anyway. The project manager asked whether I would be happy if they resolved the vanity storage issue and installed the kick plate. I said I would be happy. He told me early last week that he would call later in the week with a solution. Today is Monday of the following week and I still have not heard from him. To me credibility goes rapidly downhill when you overpromise and under deliver. Too much effort on my part with this company. I'm sure another company would have done just as good quality of an install as I have but without all the poor coordination, communication, and lack of attention to detail.
Updated! April 14, 2015. After contacting the project manager many times in the past month and a half, all I've gotten is "hey, buddy, we haven't forgotten about you". Seriously?!! No kick plate was ordered for a month after the installer left, the caulking is still not done, AND it's taken them almost two months to figure out a storage solution for the cabinet (which will not be removed)??! I am p[redacted]. No action. Only talk, talk, talk. The only reason for 2 stars and not 1, is that the almost finished bathroom looks/works nice.

Review: tub broke, canT find a rep of co to fix it. called company just get music

blower on jets quit blowing, tried trouble shooting, tried to call rep in area, they are no longer doing work for safe step. can!t get through to home office, tried a million times, phone email, all I get is music and attempts to sell me another tub. this is not the deal Pat Boone advertises in the adsDesired Settlement: First of all, I would like someone with a beating heart(human) to call me. Second of all I would like for whoever is still affiliated w/these people to come to my home, like yesterday and fix my tub(warranity said they would)

Review: I received a phone call from Remodel USA inquiring about window replacement. I expressed that I had one window that needed to be replaced. I also indicated that I may want to replace the gutters around the house. They wanted to come out and look at it. My appointment was for Tuesday, 3/19/2013. [redacted] came out, looked at the window and the gutters. He was to get back to me. I have not heard anything from him since meeting him at my home. I signed nothing giving them permission to pull a hard copy of my credit report. I have "Credit Secure" with [redacted], and was notified that there were inquiries into my credit. I went on line and noticed that "Remodeling USA Inc has requested a hard copy of my credit report. Why? There was no reason for this whatsoever! I have contacted the CEO, [redacted], SEVERAL TIMES to have this changed from a hard copy inquiry to a soft copy inquiry. Honestly, there should not be ANY INQUIRY as I have not hired them to do any work for me. There was nothing signed by me nor any indication that I was ready to work with them.

I am very upset that this company would automatically pull a credit report on me for no reason - as I had NOT agreed to do anything with them!!

I want them to change the hard copy inquiry to a soft copy inquiry. To Date, 4/3/13, this has not been done. I have requested this several times!Desired Settlement: Remove the credit report inquiry from my credit report.

Review: The Remodel USA salesman did a presentation in my home and quoted us an outrageous amount of money for a sliding door ($11,000).

The next day a representative of Remodel USA called to say they could get the price down to $3500 ( a number I stated would be the maximum

I would pay for a sliding glass door during my "consultation" with the salesman as it related to a crazy payment plan he was suggesting).

I told Remodel USA telemarketers and "managers" several times to stop calling my house that I would never buy a product from them ever, but they keep calling.Desired Settlement: I want them to stop calling and I think the company should be investigated and have to pay a fine for harassment and wasting my (and who knows how many other people's) time with their questionable sales practices.

Review: My basement flooded this morning. Remodel USA installed an Owens-Corning snap wall system in my basement in January 2013. The did the entire electrical re-wiring in the basement. I had to call them back twice after installation for electrical problems, once for a humming, buzzing sound coming from two receptacles (which they replaced) and once because they had installed an outside light fixture in the basement stairwell which is against code. Six months ago I had a flooding in the back, unfinished section of the basement. [redacted]. came out and discovered that both sump pumps had to be reset. They questioned if during the electrical work if Remodel USA electricians had reset the outlets when they finished the wiring. I called USA Remodel and reported this incidence. Today, when I went into the basement , the entire basement had been flooded. The wall-to-wall carpeting is ruined (soaked through the padding and has to be pulled up), the doors to the sump pump closets are warped and will have to be replaced, the door to the furnance room is also water-damaged and will need to be replaced,as well as various pictures, records, photo albums, comforters too much to name. I had a master electrician check and once again he found the sump pump outlets out. He checked and the circuit breaker had tripped. USA Remodel put BOTH of the sump pumps on the same circuit breaker! What sense does that make? The second sump pump is a BACK-UP to the first. By putting it on the same circuit breaker negated any hope that I had to prevent a catastrophe like this from occurring. I have filed a homeowner's claim (which may or may not be honored due to the circumstances) and intend to file a civil lawsuit against USA Remodel/Owens-Corning.Desired Settlement: I want USA Remodel to reimburse me for having another electrical line installed for the second sump pump. This should have been done by them initially. I also want them to compensate me for any expenses that my homeowner's insurance will not cover, such as replacing the carpet which is less than 7 months old. I want a representative from USA Remodel to call me asap. They can find time to call me constantly seeking to provide additional services so they can call me to settle this complaint. Thank you.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: It does not address the matter at hand. The complaint was not in reference to the repeated calls from Remodel USA - that was just an aside. The complaint was concerning the electrical work performed by USA Remodel and its subcontractor. The sump pumps in my basement were wired to the same circuit breaker. the theory is that both sump pumps came on at the same time and caused the circuit to trip thus rendering both sump pumps inoperable., The result was my basement was flooded. I had the basement waterproofed and added the additional pump to stave off this very situation. It made no sense to me then and it makes no sense to me now why both pumps would be put on the same circuit breaker, which represents a single point of failure. I have been contacted by representatives of Remodel USA and am awaiting a written confirmation of remedies that they have offered. Once I receive that official confirmation I will be willing to close this case satisfactorily.

Review: Older retired couple on fixed income insisted they did not want the product. Couple repeatedly told sales associate that they could not afford product on their income. Sales associate used high pressure and scare tactics until finally the husband agreed. After more consideration , the couple asked to be released from the contract, as they could not afford this product. There was no contract information, and when company finally called, it was to discuss delivery. When couple asked that product not be delivered, the communication was not forwarded and product was delivered anyway. Couple wants out of contract; company refuses.Desired Settlement: Couple just wants out of contract.

Review: On April 27, 2013, Design Consultant [redacted] came and gave me a presentation on having my basement remodeled by [redacted]. At the end of the sales consultation, I agreed to proceed on seeing if I could obtain financing through the company to have my basement remodeled. **. [redacted] was a very convincing and upbeat sales person who basically told me to lock in on the great deal I was getting I needed to act on it quickly. I was told in order to look into financing I had to sign the contract, in which I did and a projected date to do the basement was sometime in August. An installation appointment was also conducted for measurement purposes. I was contacted by [redacted] with their financing department a day later and told I was approved with a percentage rate and a payment I could not afford (which I expressed). I told **. [redacted] I wanted to look into my own bank and she encouraged that (so did **. [redacted]). I expressed my concerns for the 3 day cancellation clause on the contact (I was going to ride to their location and cancel) and if I could not get a loan, in which she told me not to worry about it. My bank ([redacted]) denied me my loan. I brought it to the attention of **. [redacted] and she had **. [redacted] contact me to inform me that even though I was denied a loan from my bank, I was still liable for a fee because of the contract (approximately 30%). I explained to him how **. [redacted] told me not to worry about the 3 days, but he stated he would have his attorneys call me. I explained to him that I was to be a showcase home and give a written testimony about their service (the contract gave me a discount for this permission), but because of them not allowing me to get out of the contract due to my denied loan, I would be unable to give them a good testimony about my experience. He immediately had **. [redacted] meet with me on 7/19 to make things "good". I was still not allowed out of the contract and told custom building materials had already been ordered for my project (even though no loan had been established). I was also told by **. [redacted] that he had been told an electrical permit had been pulled for my residence (he was on the phone with the project installer and I also overhead him say that he could not get into my house at that time for whatever he was asked that for). I contacted [redacted] County Permits and spoke with **. [redacted] (###-###-####), who stated that no permits have been pulled for my residence. **. [redacted] stated that even though I had been denied by my bank, I still had the approval by their financing department and that I basically had to pay for the building materials, go back to my bank and find out why I had been denied and ask for a loan, or go to court for a breach of contract. I also contact [redacted] Headquarters in Ohio to see if in fact my building materials have been ordered, considering **. [redacted] stated he was told an electrical permit had been pulled and it had not as of 7/19. **. [redacted] also stated that he did not care if I gave the company a bad testimonial (because I had agreed to be a showcase home and was given a discount for the use of pictures and video footage of my residence and an open house), which I find hard to believe he had said that. There is also one spot on the contract that I did not initial agreeing that I read and understood the terms and condition set forth in the paragraph. I did not know I had a right to consult an attorney before making the decision to sign the contract because I was under the impression that if I didn't sign the contract then they could not proceed to see if I would be approved for financing and I would not get the great deal they were presenting before me.Desired Settlement: I could not get a loan from my bank (a denial letter sent by [redacted] did not give a specific reason, but gave a list of general reasons) and the company could not give me a loan I could afford (in which I had expressed my concerns and they sympathetically understood). I just want the contract to be null and void without having to pay for the building materials or any legal fees. Their initial appearance made me feel comfortable, in which they gained my trust (i.e. not having to worry about coming down to the office to cancel the contract due to the 3 day cancellation, very friendly and making the sales pitch very good) In exchange, I will never speak of their company again.

Respectfully requested,

[redacted]. [redacted]

Review: We have been harassed by numerous phone calls, and pressured to make appointments, of which the company then called to report they were having "car trouble" twice. This company also pulled my credit report without my permission. I never gave them any information outside of name and address to schedule an appointment, and was notified by my credit monitoring agency that this company pulled my report 2 times!! This has caused my credit score to decrease and caused stress on our family.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter to my credit reporting agency to have them remove the inquiry, since I did not authorize this. I would also like them prosecuted for using my information without my permission.

Review: One week after signing the contract and prior to the Contractor expending any funds (i.e. produce engineering drawings, apply for building permits, order materials, schedule employees etc.) I received a lay-off notice from my employer. As a result I am unable to qualify for or obtain financing. The Contractor is unwilling to delay the project, however, the Contractor has refused to return all monies paid by the Buyer as the contract states. In fact the Contractor has been even less apathetic to the situation by threatening to sue for 30% of the total order value. Meanwhile, an inspection of the prospective work site has revealed damage to the existing foundation that needs repair and is causing more and more water damage as time goes on. This repair could be made with the money owed to the Buyer from the Contractor. Instead the Contractor is trying to use this time sensitive issue as leverage to get more money out of a despirate, hard working, honest citizen.Desired Settlement: The Contractor to pay back in full, the deposit to the Buyer within the next week.
