Poor service, zero integrity and slow.
In July 2000 my wife and I signed a contract for a complete renovation of our kitchen and mud-room.

When the salesmen started their spiel, the first thing we told them was that we wanted to maximize cabinet space. When it came install time, they did the exact opposite.

Early in the install stage, we called to ask how long should we expect this to take. The receptionist told us 2 weeks. We asked "are you sure?" She replied yes!

They started tear-down in late September 2000. However the trouble started with the guy who did the official measurements. The sales team bragged on this guy saying he's the best there is. In actuality, he could barely do 3rd grade math.

We never got a chance to see any plans that resulted from the official measurements.

We were doing a complete remodel, new appliances, new flooring, new lighting.

The lead installer, on-site boss was named Drew.

The tear down took over a week, when they removed the dishwasher, it was found to be leaking, and floorboards needed replacing. They replaced the rotten floorboards, but refused to pull up the remaining linoleum, leaving the floor lumpy. Often times Drew would volunteer to work overnight, but we needed our sleep, so we had to refuse.

Note: Drew was working 2 jobs at the same time, ours in Newport News, and another in Virginia Beach. Plus he also had many medical appointments. Drew would promise to work all day at our place, but then wouldn't arrive until 2 pm, then have to leave at 4 pm for a medical appointment.

Because of this, we were without appliances, but a microwave for 6 weeks.

We had to force them to make the kitchen usable by Thanksgiving. Because we were hosting a party. There was still a bunch of details to finish.

When they laid the new tile, they left old linoleum in spots, so the floor is sort of lumpy.

When they installed the dishwasher, they scratched the control panel really bad. Drew said he was going to send his friend the appliance repair man to fix it, but the guy never showed up to the appointment. When Drew was asked about it, he replied, probably because I never paid him for the last job. That has never been fixed, even now.

Their quality assurance department called us in February 2021, to ask us how we liked our new kitchen and mud-room. We told the lady that they aren't totally finished yet. That was our last contact with Remodel USA. The lady never called us back.

When they were installing the kitchen sink, it was 8 inches offset from the center of the window. Totally unacceptable.

When the sales team told us about the cabinets in the corners, they described them as "easy-reach". I asked if they were lazy Susan's? They said no, that we would see, they would explain it. When the installer came, he put 8 inch spacers on the back of the corner cabinets. We were livid with anger. We called the company and said this was totally unacceptable. They said the contract says easy reach cabinets. We had assumed they wouldn't be that stupid, since we prefaced the sales call with "maximize cabinet space."

When it came to cabinets near door jams, we told them to extend the cabinets all the way to the door jam. They said they weren't capable of doing that, so there is w places where the cabinets are 6 inches from the door jam.

The mud-room was converted from a laundry room. The machines were moved to the garage by a previous owner. We requested that a large utility sink be installed where the laundry machines used to be. They found the smallest sink on the market, when they installed it, it wouldn't drain properly. They couldn't figure out why. We had to call in a different plumber who traced the pipe and found the line had a double p-trap, which neither plumber could repair. The sink is still unusable.

Please Read - Awful and expensive experience
We were quoted a price, interest rate, and wrote a deposit for 1000 dollars. Once we didn't qualify for the rate we rescinded the contract immediately. They told us that the finance manager would call us and we were fine with that but in the meantime they cashed our 1000 dollars check that we had written on the 4.9% interest rate, (stealing) and eventually gave us two options
1. Pay 30% of the 23,000 contract for materials (which we were told were backordered). They were not out a penny.
or
2. Get job done regardless of our desire to get other quotes.

We are having to take them to court for the 1000 dollars. The salesman was not honest with us and basically wanted money for no work.
Will tell everyone I know to keep them from falling into their trap. God Bless

Follow up repairs needed on kitchen cabinets
I had my kitchen cabinets replaced by Remodel, USA in February, 2022. A couple of weeks later, I noticed that one of the cabinet drawers was coming apart at the seam (that had been stapled). I called the company (in Maryland, where I am located) and the receptionist was very kind and gave me the cell phone number of my Project Manager, Jim. I called and left him messages twice with my return phone number. To date, he has not returned my calls. I then began calling the 800 number listed for the company in Maryland. The voicemail message comes on each time I call (within normal business hours), and I leave voicemail messages (4 times). No one has returned any of my calls and it is now May, 2022. I need to determine if they are still in business and how I can have the repairs made! I am beyond angry at this point!

2/25/ Dear [redacted] , I am responding to the letter that we received at Remodel USA identified as ID # [redacted] We have removed this customer's name from any calling lists that we use** [redacted] signed up to receive a free estimate of our products but apparently she has changed her mindPlease consider this matter satisfied Warm Regards,

The past few years my wife and I both have been receiving phone calls from Remodel USA on our mobile phones claiming that they have spoken to us recently on various things in the past to quote such as new roof or new windows etc.. The funny thing is that every time we speak to them we inform them that we actually work in the same industry and have used our own resources to remodel our home but yet they still seem to call us after continually asking Remodel USA to remove our numbers off their list.
