customers file and this is what it says we quoted him 90.00 for the service call and advised him on top of that once its diagnosed there will be a labor charge.  We replaced spark switchs  and cleand orfice burner, we were there 15 minutes. We gave him the price then on the spot  of 90.00 plus labor -the customer had an option of turning the technician down from doing the work- at that moment ---he did not turn him down and  agreed on the repair and the one the price . He claimed after the job was done to give him labor free.   [redacted]

Review: I called [redacted] to ask for the name of a repair service in my area to fix the igniter on the stove model KLSC308LSSO. I told them that we had ordered the part but that I wasn't comfortable trying the repair myself. I was given the name of [redacted] Appliance Repair and their number ###-###-####. I called there and explained to [redacted] the nature of the problem, the fact that we already had the part, and if the part was right, all we would need is for it to be installed. She said that was fine, and made an appointment for someone to come by yesterday. I asked the cost and was told there is a $90 service charge no matter what, but that the time spent would be folded into that $90. If the work proved to be more complicated the charge would be higher. This was all agreeable to me.When the repair person came in, the first thing he said to my wife, before beginning any work or looking at the stove, was that this job would cost more, first $130, but what he ultimately charged was $120. At that point she let him continue to do the work. The job itself took 10 minutes, he was in our house for around 15 minutes. When I got home I called [redacted] to ask that the charge be reduced to $90 as this job was exactly what I told them it might be. [redacted] insisted that they were justified in charging the amount because the labor is not free, I couldn't do the job myself, and other companies would have charged us even more. Getting nowhere with her I asked to speak to the manager. Another woman came on the phone and continued the same defense, saying that since the repair person had announced the price increase and my wife agreed, they were totally justified. Had the job taken just 5 minutes it would have been different, but 10 minutes meant they would have to increase the charges. I asked for her name, she said I should call her Supervisor. When I asked why she would not give her name she hung up. I have registered this complaint with Kitchen Aid and told them recommending [redacted] would reflect badly on themDesired Settlement: They should refund $30 + 8.375% tax.
