I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowI was not offered a resolution Instead I was given a recap of the conversation I've already had with the academy and then urged to take more of my time to come to the academy to discuss it further When I discussed it with [redacted] at the academy, she told me I couldn't get out of the contract, that once the contract is signed, it's in the hands of [redacted] I spoke with [redacted] , and they told me I can't get out of the contract, several times, via email and over the phone I don't want to waste time and gas coming to the academy to have the same conversation I've already had on numerous occasions Essentially, this second contract is for a gym [redacted] ship which hasn't even begun yet I understand if there's a penalty for early termination, but to hold me responsible for over $is unfair Regards, [redacted]

The staff at RAM were very helpful and accommodating (I am out of shape and cannot do some of the technical moves others can)They went at my own pace and were very encouraging It is a family friendly environment and they really care about their clients/studentsI am so glad they are local and reasonably priced

account hold for a month while you worked out that issue because [redacted] stated then that he wanted to continue the training until Black Belt. The way that our program is designed allows the capable student to move into a intermediate level  if they are willing to make the commitment to the training. This evaluation is done on an individual level and [redacted] was showing the ability and commitment to start the intermediate classes. The Black Belt Program allows the student to attend classes everyday if they would like in order to develop the student and give them the most out of their time here. However, the BBP is NOT required. If a student (or guardian) does not elect to enter into an agreement it does not effect the original agreement. It would not auto renew, it would simply end. The BBP options were presented to you when you and [redacted] met with [redacted] and we also allowed [redacted] the ability to try the classes for a couple weeks without enrolling to see if he wanted to make that longer commitment. Commitment is a vital part of this type of training and we definitely did not want him to do something he wasn't ready for or didn't want to do. That is the reason we wanted him to be sure before you enrolled. We also loaned him protective gear and provided him with a mouth guard. He expressed that he enjoyed it and after a few weeks you and him came to the decision to sign him up for the longer commitment. We deeply care about every student here. The students are our lifeblood. [redacted] was a wonderful addition to the class and I really feel like the training helped him in many ways. We strive to be as transparent as possible on the enrollment process. As I previously stated, we care about every student here at RAM. It is truly disappointing to see [redacted] stop training as it seemed that he really wanted to continue per our very last conversation here at the Academy. We did what we discussed and froze your agreement to allow you time to work out the transportation issue and would be willing to help in any other way we can. I f you have time, I would like to have you meet with [redacted] here at the school or over the phone if that is more convenient. We definitely want to try to come to a solution. Review: My son wanted to take a class in Martial Arts and he had found the Renaissance Academy online. We went down and talked with the Academy, signed a contract for [redacted]ship for one year. A few months after he started, they told him he was doing really well and asked him if he'd be interested in trying for the masters class and black belt training. The black belt training costs more and requires a longer contract. I didn't want to commit to it because it was already a struggle to make the payments plus the more advance class requires the purchase of gear. The Academy kept asking him to move forward with the black belt training, to the point where I was under the impression that he couldn't continue in the beginners class. I felt pressured to sign another contract, this one for two more years after the first contract was finished. Now my son no longer has transportation to the class and he's stopped going. I have two more payments left on the first contract, then t he next one starts for two more years and I'm obligated for over $3800. I spoke with the Academy and with the company that handles their payments-[redacted]. They both say there is no way to get out of the second contract, even if I pay an early termination penalty. My feeling is that once the kids have been coming for a few weeks, they pull them aside, flatter them with how great they're doing, and then try to upsell them to the black belt training.Desired Settlement: I just want to get out of the second contract. They're not losing any money by letting us out of the contract. We've not used any goods or services.
