Complaint:[redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: The company is and was lying to me from the beginning. When I signed the first contract  with the Company, they told me they are a certified solar installer's for the state ([redacted]). Guess what, they are not certified with [redacted] but the way they get around it, they say there partner is certified.  In there response the also said the state shut down for June and July 2014. That is a lie, the state shut down for only two weeks in June. According to the state ([redacted]) the state refund to the company hasn't been released yet because  the solar system was not wired correctly and had to be fixed on November 15, 2014. Wow I paid Renewable Energy a check to start project in April 2015 and it took until November to fix system and get it corrected and then the state would approve rebate. I am so sick of the lies and bt with this company, I'm going to pay the money I owe them just so I don't have to be subjected to more lies. No home improvement project should take almost a year to finish. I built my house in a year. This company is just using the Federal and State rebates( taxpayer's money) to suck people into bad contracts that only protect the company not the customer. I usually do my homework on company's like this and I didn't so this is some what, my fault .
This company is not a Solar company they are a marketing company that subs out all of there work. Please go onto the state web site and pick a company on CEFIA list. I was the dummy that didn't ,so don't be like me.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] lied. My husband and myself were there when he took our electric bill and told us that he needed to see how much we use for the year. To determine how many panels we woul need,,I never said I couldn't afford more like they are telling you. I told him that I only want the panels if they will eliminate my bill completely. He came back telling us both that 12 panels would cover the electric bill and a little extra. So I went ahead with the project. Why would I spend over 17k on solar panels that would only cover 25% of my bill. Ask your self would you any one do that? I've been in touch with [redacted] mostly, and [redacted] about my bills being so high and wondering if they were even working. [redacted] came out and said they were and then told me later that they we're not covering the bill only 25%, which I just found out. When I confronted [redacted] who sold them to me, he changed the whole story around and lied to me. Please help me to resolve this issue.   I would've never bought any solar panels if I would've known this company would do people dirty like that. [redacted] even talked me and my husband out of renting solar panels so that was more beneficial to buy them out right. I don't even have enough room on my roof for them to add anymore and they knew that they can't put them on the front or the side of my house they told me that. So if they knew I needed more knowing that I don't have enough roof to do that why would they sell them to me.
Sincerely,

We have provided [redacted] with what she purchased a [redacted] system. It preforms to all expectations of a [redacted] System. We received
no correspondence from [redacted] prior to this that it wasn’t what she
wanted. If [redacted] would like us to add to her system, to generate...

more
electricity we would be glad to assist her in this matter.
We contacted [redacted], the person who
submitted the contract for a [redacted] system and he says this is what [redacted]
would and could afford at the time. He denies that he told her that it would
cover her entire electric bill and that it would cover only a portion of the
electric bill.
We value [redacted] as a customer and would like to help if
we can. The system works perfectly and we do believe a larger system would be
beneficial to [redacted] but there would be an additional cost, which we would
make as reasonable as possible.

This is in response
to Mr. [redacted]’s complaint. The contract was resigned under our partner company
to participate with the state incentive program. Due to the switch from one
partnership to a new partnership we...

had to resign the contracts under the new partnership.
Unfortunately Mr.[redacted] and other
contracts had to be resigned. When everything was corrected we submitted for
the state approval. The state did not process any installs for the months of
June and July. Renewable Energy CT kept in contact with all of the contracts
the state shut down. We forwarded news articles, press releases and any emails
that pertained to their particular install. As soon as the state gave the
approval email to start installations we started. Mr. [redacted] received the same
email we were waiting for from the state. The claim that there were numerous
problems is from the perspective of a nonprofessional stand point. All Installations
have to be modified at the site depending on the circumstances; every home is
different. The installation was supervised by the CEO of the company and during
mid install Mr. [redacted] asked for additional hardware that we provided at a huge
discount. The CEO even drove to New York to pick up the hardware so not to
create any delay and to prevent additional costs for shipping. The purchase of
the additional hardware that Mr. [redacted] insisted on created a delay because we
had to resubmit paperwork to the proper authorities for the change made to the
system. The system passed the local inspection and the inspection from his
power company. Failing the state inspection doesn’t prevent the system from
being operational and the corrections are being resolved.

Regarding the desired settlement, Renewable Energy CT will gladly pay
the three months electric bill if Mr. [redacted] pays the difference on the additional
hardware that was purchased and given to him at a large discount. The
difference in hardware is $1,250.00. This doesn’t include the man hours and
extra expenses for us to go and pick up his additional equipment ourselves. A
service we have not provided for any other customer. Renewable Energy CT has
been more than generous to Mr.[redacted] and he had no right to deduct his electric
bills off the contract price.

Review: I signed the first contract in February/March of 2014 for solar panel installation. While on vacation in April, the company delivered the solar panels then requested a check for $24,000 out of $35,000. This money was to cover the start process and materials. The work was scheduled to be completed May 24, 2014. In May, a salesman came to the house and had me resign a different contract with [redacted]. This seemed odd as he asked me to "rip up" the first contract. He told me that [redacted] was its partner in the company. In this new agreement, the work was to begin on June 15, 2014 and be completed by June 28, 2014. The work was not started until August and the system was not up and running until September. There were numerous problems during the installation. The system also failed inspections by the state of Connecticut in which the electrician had to return to rewire.Desired Settlement: I do not feel I should have to pay the electric bills for June through August of 2014 as this job was to have been completed by June. Had the system been installed in the time agreed upon, I would not have had electric bills for June through August of 2014.

Review: I was inquiring about solar panels with a man called [redacted] that works with renewable energy back in Nov 2014. He came to my home to discus with me and my husband about renting solar panels vs buying. He talking us out of renting and to buy. So I explained to him at that time that I only wanted panels to eliminate our electric bill, other wise it would not be worth it for us. He in the process of everything said that he had to take our electric bill which he did to find out our usage for the past year to determine how many panels that we would need to cover the entire bill. He came back and told me after whomever went over that last years prior of electricity usage said that we would need 12 panels and [redacted] then told us that it would cover our electricity usage and a little extra. I at that time went ahead with the project which took months to go through. Later in 2015 after I finally got everything done and installed correctly, looked at my bills which were getting higher called a man named [redacted] that works for the company several times to come look at why I have bills and higher ones at that. He then checked to see if the panels were working properly ect and looked at my bills to find out that the panels that I paid over [redacted] for only were going to cover 25% of our usage. At that time I called [redacted] and he told me that he never told me that the panels would cover the bill and that he never looked at the year prior of bill usage and that he went off of what I told him which was a lie because I did not know what usage that we used for the prior year, also [redacted] told me that it is there responsibility to look at the prior year so that they can determine how many panels a house would need. So [redacted] lied to be about everything and I did not find out until it was to late. Now I am out of over [redacted] and the panels are doing barely anything for my electric bill. Who in there right mind would pay over [redacted] to have only 25% of there bill covered? I was misrepresented and feel like [redacted] did a Bait and Switch, talked me and my husband out of leasing the panels and now is lying about the whole thing. I have paid more that the original money on the panels from the start date. Includes the 3,100.00 that I gave to renewable energy on 12/22/2014, paid 100.00 to [redacted] on 12/15/14 for the hook up, the rest was paid to admirals bank toward the loan 12/25/14 150.00, 2/11/15 150.00, 2/18/15 150.00, 3/13/15 132.18, 3/25/15 150.00, 4/16/15 I paid them off [redacted]Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is that the company take back there solar panels, fix my roof if needed under the panels if they have done any damage and to be refunded all money from date of sale, as I recently on 4/16/205 paid the entire loan off with admirals bank. And that [redacted] be reprimanded so that this does not happen to another family that put there trust and faith into a company and its employee that made the sale.

Review: Renewable Energy ([redacted])

This company is not a certified solar-installer for the state of **. Still, it entered into a contract with me while it wrongly informed me that I was eligible for a rebate of $8,750 from the state of ** if I were to have solar panels installed. After reviewing our electric bill, they suggested a particular solar panel model that would cost us $23,200. We agreed on signing off the rebate money to the installer and that left us with a balance of $14,450. All of that money was paid except for $1,200 that was to be paid not only after the replacement of the faulty L-Gate meter but also after the quality State Inspection. The state never inspected the solar panels and also never recognized the rebate application. Not to mention the fact that the installation process took months and that the final product fails to supply 50% of the daily energy for my property. The contractor, [redacted], and Renewable Energy under the name, [redacted] filed a Mechanics Lien for $12,500 against my property at [redacted].Desired Settlement: I want these solar panels removed and the installation damage to the roof to be repaired. Also, I want the lien claim removed from my property and my money spent on this project and any legal costs due to the lien claim to be reimbursed.
