Renewal by Andersen has been in contact with the homeowner and is working to determine a solution to the problem

Renewal by Andersen has contacted the customer and is working on resolution Thank you

Renewal by Andersen apologizes for the customer's frustration We have been in contact with the homeowner since 12/30/ A proposed solution has been provided and we are waiting for the homeowner to determine if it is acceptable

Last December, we ordered ~$7,of windows and doors to be installed (to match the last three sets we have received from Renewal by Anderson) After the "measurer came out, we never heard back from scheduling so we called After several calls, our salesperson (Justin Z) contacted saying they could make the window door combination because it was too big That was incorrect, as we had the same width window/window combination installed previously by them in our front room They sent another, "more experienced" measurer out and AGAIN, we received no response After a few more calls, we were told that the door window combination could only be made if we agree to a separate combination or a smaller setThat was not agreed to, nor was it acceptable After several more calls, we found out they could make the combination as order, full size, they just didn't WANT to because it would be more expensive than they estimated originally

Renewal by Andersen has contacted the homeowner and we are working with them on a solution for their needs

Renewal by Andersen did provide the option of enlarging the openings in the homeowner's house and installing windows that meet new construction egress requirements at an additional cost If the concern is being able to safely evacuate the room in case of an emergency that is the best solution The homeowner originally did not want to pursue that option as it drastically changed the appearance of the home The windows currently installed in the homeowners house were sold and installed within building code for replacement situations There are no known issues with the windows or the installation Renewal by Andersen will continue to honor the warranty on the windows that were installed. If the homeowner would like to get a quote for enlarging the openings in his home and installing windows that meet new construction egress requirements please contact me and we can arrange for a sales consultant to meet with the homeowners to walk through that process.Thank you

Renewal by Andersen sold and installed a product that met code requirements for replacement applications Mr [redacted] expressed concern about safety after installation given that the hardware mechanism on the new windows do not open the sash as far as his old windows The safest solution based on new construction code requirements is to create a larger opening in the bedrooms and install windows that meet new construction egress requirements Mr [redacted] would like to retain the look of the home and did not want to proceed with that option The building official recommended Glider's as potential option, thus we worked with the building official to get an exception approval to replace the awnings with Gliders The Glider windows would change the look of the home, thus Mr [redacted] did not like that solution eitherIn summary Renewal by Andersen has demonstrated good faith by working with Mr [redacted] and the building officials to identify a couple of alternatives including (1) replacing the awnings with Glider Windows, which was recommended by the building official or (2) creating larger openings in the bedroom's and installing windows that meet egress requirements for new construction applications, which is the safest alternative Renewal by Andersen cannot provide any other alternatives to meet Mr [redacted] 's requests

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 12, 2015/10/06) */

I have repeatedly asked for Renewal by Anderson to remove me from their email list without successI am tired of seeing them and having to delete themThem have not honored my many requests

On 02/2017, Renewal By Andersen proceeded with the replacement of windows in my home in bedrooms: bedroom has one only one window (awning replaced by awning), another has (awning to awning), and the 3rd bedroom has (double-hung and awning, both replaced to the like)
After replacement, I noticed that the new awning windows open far more restrictively than the ones we had before, therefore causing a safety hazard in case of fire (impossible to escape through the window)
I have been in extensive discussion with the company since then (available if needed), and we are at a dead-end: the company does not have (and does not seem to want to create) an opening mechanism to allow further opening; the company offers a sliding window as replacement, which is not the style I want; when proposing installing a casement on the side, the company mentioned that though possible, that might put stress on the mechanism (and therefore cause warranty issues); when mentioning a mechanism (p

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The rusted hardware(s) have not been repaired or replaced
The postponed installation has raised $of additional costs to my family, which include days off from work and hiring contractors to clean the working area after the installer left my home

A site visit was conducted by our Service Manager on 11/24/During this visit, we agreed to replace the hinges on units of concernDue the cold fall/winter weather, the homeowner has opted to hold off on this hinge replacement until springWe will be following up with the customer to schedule a service visit in the spring of 2015, after the weather warms up

The service/attention we received from the moment we stepped into the Anderson Window building at the MN State Fair has been over the topThey greeted us, listened to us & then walked us to a Customer Service Rep to set up a home appointmentThe next day a gal called confirming our appointment and said Kelly would be callingKelly called as expected and met us at our home the following SaturdayKelly was knowledgable about the product, she wasn't pushy and again listened to all our concerns -we instantly felt she cared about us & our projectWe signed that day! We made a few changes, which caused our project to be delayed until this past weekKelly responded timely in all conversations, she gave us time to think and didn't rush usShe wanted to make sure we were satisfied with our decisionsTravis and Vasiliy were awesome installers! Each day I came home if it wasn't for the new windows and their trucks in the driveway, I wouldn't have known there were thereThey were careful and cleaned up beautifully! They walked us through what had been done each day plus the plan for the nextThey made sure we were happy with their work, asked questions and even sent a picture of the new opening the day the patio door was installedBut they didn't send a picture of the installed patio door because they wanted to see my expression first hand when I walked in the doorThey truly know what customer service is and how to make customers feel appreciated and their ideas valuedI have, and will continue, to recommend Renewal by Anderson to anyone looking for replacing/updating their windowsThank you to all who made this experience top notch!

In the spring of I had all windows in my home replaced by Renewal by AndersenI went with the company from referral as well as what I've heard about their serviceThe investment in replacing our windows was a hefty investment for my householdThey came out and gave an estimate and the sales representative was kind and responsiveMy calls were returned almost immediately and everything went very wellWe had a large picture window replaced in my living room with a bay window, an expensive and beautiful windowAll went well until the winter of that year 2015/January We noticed a condensation issue on the window and a few of the other windows that were installedWe promptly called the company after seeing this (what we were advised to do) and a service manager came out and took a lookHe recommended having a crew come out and take a look at the windows, not just the bay window, to see if there was an installation issueRenewal by Andersen did the installationWe had th

Renewal by Andersen installed new windows in our home in DecThey were punctual, polite, and provided quality installationWhen they arrived each day, they made sure to take the time to meet & greet our German Shepherd, enabling him to calm downThey made use of lots of tarps & even vacuumed up each day when they were done workingThe day after the job was completed, we realized that a handle wasn't installed on one windowWe called & the handle was put on two days laterThe following week the stainer came in to stain the interior wood trim & she managed to match the trim in the rest of the houseThe windows are beautiful! The whole process, from meeting with the salesman, the window installation, and finally staining the trim, was a very pleasant experience and we'd recommend Renewal By Andersen to anyone considering replacing windows!

Had a problem with our sliding patio doors Technician from Anderson came out to look at the problem, said it should not have happenedI did have to make a couple calls back to the company, but they eventually did take care of the doors that had a separation of the lamination, and replaced both doorsThis service was above and beyond our expectations and we are very pleased with their response....and our new doors!!

I am rejecting this response because:Hello,We rejected the option of enlarging the opening due to the cost that we would have to incur to create the opening when we had already spent so much money purchasing these windows, and that simpler options seemed to be available at that time in our various exchanges with RenewalByAndersen. We do not accept the reasoning from RenewalByAndersen[Due to character limitation in the response, the whole answer cannot be reproduced in herePlease refer to the attachment]

We had a very positive experience with Renewal by Andersen! We had a new entry door and bay window installed Our salesperson, Brian ***, the crew and the gentleman who did the staining on the bay window were very professional and respectful in every way regarding their work and our home!

We have had to call Andersen about five times with problems with the windows and installation Today is the last straw There was a heavy rain, and water poured in through the living room window and down into the basement I don't want to deal with them any longer
