Scratched window
After my new double window was installed, I was told by the installer that there was a scratch in the glass between the 2 glass panels. He told me that it would be replaced. I waited nearly 4 months to get this window. Now I'm still waiting for the replacement after 3 more weeks. It was their mistake not mine. The window was paid in full.
I called them and they wanted me to send them a picture of the scratch. That was the installers job, not mine.
I'm still awaiting a call from them as to when I will get the replacement. Installers were GREAT, but their customer service department leaves a lot to be desired. Once they get your money, they could care less about you!
By no means would I recommend Renewal by Anderson. I think you can do better elsewhere. You would think they would correct their mistake ASAP to avoid negative feedback. Not so, they took the money and ran.
Still waiting a call back from them, which I now doubt that I will get.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Shop elsewhere.

Please be warned that Renewal by Anderson uses extreme high-pressure sales tactics that would make a used-car salesman blush.
I found them so unethical in their behavior that I would never buy a product from them, ever. It makes me question their entire company. If they are truly as great as they say, then why would they resort to cheap, strong-arming to get you buy their goods and services?
Please be aware that when you ask them to come to your home for a *free* estimate, you will be expected to sign a contract at the very end of the sales pitch.
After a 90-minute tour of your home, complete with measurements, the salesman sat at our table and started writing up our contract. Before we agreed on anything. Before we had a chance to work out financing. Before we had a chance to ask questions and before we even got the final figure after the 30% sales promotion. Right then and there, it all starts happening, the wheels of the deal start grinding before you even have a chance to breath.
If you waver at all in signing, they bad-mouth the competition and then the gloves come off -- the emotional pressure and arm-twisting really gets going. The bad-mouthing about vinyl! Honestly, enough Anderson. Anderson uses some kind of engineered wood composite, yet act like they've reinvented wood. The upshot is that it's still some modified, chemically altered material.
Our salesman went into a sales pitch that we would only receive the full 30% off -- only if we signed NOW. Otherwise, if you want to think about any of it even for a night, you will only get 10% off. If you want to think about even after he leaves, forget about it. We are talking about outrageously over-priced windows in the tens of thousands of dollars in the first place.
When you make your appointment, they, of course, do not tell you that the 30% sales promotion is only valid 'today' (since both partners are required at appointments and since the only time that usually can happen is at night that means sometime that evening, while salesman is sitting there). But they will have had plenty of chances to inform you/prepare you of this ahead of time, but chose not to. The number of texts and calls we received to 'confirm' our appointment and ensure we were both there numbered close to a half a dozen. They manipulate you from beginning to end.
Please do NOT sign their contract! They justify their prices by saying there are lifetime warranties. But it is questionable whether these are truly lifetime warranties (or just 10 years, 20 years. Who knows for sure given their spiel and the pace you are made to make a decision? You can read other reviews and bloggers online questioning their 'warranties' and whether they include both the product AND installation).
If you do sign this contract, please know that you have three full business days to rescind the contract. If you have any doubts at all, pull the plug and run away as fast as you can. Trust me, you can find windows just as beautiful and made of fine materials for lower than what they charge.
Thankfully, we did NOT sign but their behavior was so appalling that I feel compelled to warn as many people as I can about this. I actually called the President for Central NJ office, Larry L[redacted], to complain. I have a tape recording of him admitting to me on the phone that yes, this is how they do things but they don't mean to make anyone feel bad, they are just trying to use incentives to get people to buy from them! They honestly see nothing unethical or manipulative about their behavior. I'm sure sharks swimming in the ocean don't view themselves as predators either.
