Renninger's Promotions

Review: I received a postcard from Renninger's Promotion advertising a 3-day antique show at various locations, including [redacted]. The card stated the shows ran on April 25 thru April 27. The show on Friday, April 26 went from 8 AM to 5 PM. I traveled 1 1/2 hrs to get to the show & arrived at 2:30. They charged me their entry fee, but about 1/2 the exhibitors had already left, and at least half of the remaining exhibitors were packing to leave. I asked 6 of the dealers what time the show ended at they all said Renninger's Promotion management told them they could leave at 4 PM. I complained to the office they advertised the show ran to 5 PM, and because I thought I had 2 1/2 to see the show I was willing to travel 1 1/2 hrs to get there. They said many dealers like to leave early so they always let them go at 4 PM. I said they can't advertize to the public that the show runs to 5 PM and yet tell their exhibitors they can leave at 4 PM. I said it was deceptive advertizing. The place was a grave yard by 4 PM. I said a bank can't advertize it's open to 5 PM and then let their tellers leave at 4 PM just because they like to go home early. They said it was a different type of business. I said they're management and they can control how they run a business without deceiving the public. They just didn't care.Desired Settlement: Refund my entry fee and change their management practice so exhibitors stay until the advertized show ending times, or change their advertizing to let the public know that many, if not the great majority, of the exhibitors leave early. The place was a grave yard by 4 PM.
