Reno Cycle House & Motorsports Reviews (2)

Verbally contracted to pay $150.00 to have my motorcycle forks resealed with Reno Cycle House over phone, on May 30th, 2014. To have work completed within business day on June 2nd. Brought forks in from 100 miles away 9 am ON June 2nd. Shop did not do the work that day. Agreed to pick up 4, then 5, then 8 days later. 8 days later came in and picked up "completed" forks. This is when I first talked to (met) [redacted] the owner of the shop. Evidently, I had previously been communicating and contracting with the head? mechanic. So [redacted] gave me the "finished" forks. When I went to pay for work. He said that he "really" needed payment in cash! Red flag! Had only $120.00 in cash so payed that and the $30.00 extra on credit card. Shop owner [redacted] was supposed to denote cash payment on back of receipt but didn't! Took the forms home to find that they weren't rebuilt (old cracked dust seals obviously showed themselves as unrebuilt forks (shop office was dark). Called shop back and informed [redacted] from my 100 miles away. He said to bring them back in to be rebuilt on same day. Returned forks but no can do. Come back on Tuesday to pick up. Monday night [redacted] calls and says not only that he cannot have forks ready the next day but that he will not be working on them anytime in the near future; that his shop was backed up. I had dealt with [redacted] and shop pleasantly up to this point. However Tuesday I went to the shop to get back my forks and to get a refund and told him if not I would call in the police for theft of property and money. [redacted] refused both. I called 911. Police arrived. Made him give back my parts, give me a filled out shop estimate form showing that he received payment from me. But [redacted] would not refund my money stating that he didn't have it . That he was trying to make his shop rental payment . stating that the shop policy was no refund of cash. Oh, that's why he wanted cash so much! I asked the police if they had seen a "no cash refund" notice in the office. They replied yes. I don't believe it was posted, or not posted well, back when I payed, but possibly was posted when he knew the police were enroute. I believe that the shop mechanic is a good man and honest but his boss [redacted] is both a crook and a conman. I filed a police report and have the option of taking him to small claims courtOrder_Number: invoice [redacted]Desired SettlementFull refund

I brought my motorcycle (Honda cb360) to the shop 2 months ago to have a charging issue looked at, after two weeks of no communication I called to be told that my carbs could use a cleaning, I gave the go ahead to do the work and was asked to pay cash as the CC machine was down. I road my bike home only to find out that the carbs were totally messed up and the bike still didn't charge. I then brought the bike back to the shop, was told that the mechanic was fired and that my bike would be fixed. A week later I was told I needed to pay 300 more dollars for a new stator. Another two weeks passed going back and forth with the owner of when it will be fixed. They said it would be finished by the end of the day so I went to the shop only to find my bike outside, dirty and my electrical torn apart. I personally connected the wires, charged the battery and put the seats back on. While doing this I noticed that my bike had been dropped, scratched, and the brake handle replaced with another that didn't even engage the brake. To top it off, my new air pods were "missing" and my gas tank empty. When contacted today the owner admitted to everything but says my only option is to bring it back in or take him to small clams court. I should also mention that there was another customer waiting when I was and he had the exact same experience... He was waiting for repairs, was asked to pay more money and his bike was never touched.Product_Or_Service: RepairDesired SettlementI would like my money back (as it was for parts that were never installed and for repairs that were never done) and I would like the scratches buffed out, the brake handle replaced (with factory made ones like were on the bike) and my air filters found or replace with equal quality ones.
