Reno Locksmith Reviews (3)

My fianc had called to get a quote on how much it would be to re-key our locks at our home. He received a quote for around 140 to 160 so he scheduled an appointment for that day. I had taken off work early to be there when they re-keyed our house. Before they started I had asked how much each door would cost, they said around 25 to 26 dollars a lock plus a little for labor. They proceeded to do our doors, one of the men was training the other. When everything was said and done he then told me the total came out to be 281.58 I was surprised at the amount because we got quoted 140 to 160 even before they came to our home. If I would have known it was going to cost almost three hundred dollars I would of never had them come out as the other quotes we received were just a bit higher than theirs. I feel like I was taken advantage of and very angry as a customer. They should have broken down everything for us as a customer before they started the job. They had hidden fees and charged us outrageously for three doors just to be re-keyed. If it was going to be more then what they had quoted then they should have told us before even starting the work.Product_Or_Service: re-keyOrder_Number: n/aAccount_Number: n/aDesired SettlementI would like it to be settled by them giving me the price they had quoted over the phone and if it was going to be more to have told us before even starting the job.

I needed a locksmith to open a single residential door. I was told the service fee would be $35 and the price to open the door would start at $20. Took the technician ~15 minutes to open the door. They then tried to charge me $250. After I called their boss, he agreed to reduce the cost to $185. This still seems like highway robbery and incredibly deceptive.Product_Or_Service: Unlock of a residenial door with dead boltDesired SettlementConsidering I was quoted $50, I would consider anything under $100 dollars to be reasonable for 15 minutes of work + drive time.

After locking my keys in my car I called around to shop locksmith prices. Reno Locksmith told me that they would charge a $35 service fee, and around $19.99 depending on the specifics of the transaction. The locksmith arrived and had me fill out and sign a form that included my drivers license and contact information. I had signed the form not realizing that this would be my receipt, and was surprised to see that the service had cost me $175 for about ten minutes of work. Normally I am happy to pay full price for a service, but in this case I felt that I had been taken advantage of. Even at this point i'm not angry with the service, but did feel disappointed in the way the transaction was handled. The next day I decided to call the company back in order to gather some details and hopefully ease my mind. As a consumer I knew it was my responsibility to be knowledgeable about the products and pricing, but I felt that by calling back I could straighten some facts out. I asked the gentleman the same question about pricing that I had asked the day before, and was given the same answer. I then asked more specifically about pricing based on a detailed description of the service. the gentleman who i'm assuming is the owner "[redacted]" became extremely short with me and told me not to call HIS BUSINESS demanding information. In short I feel cheated and personally disrespected by this business. I can't believe that a small business would treat a local customer this way after providing less than satisfactory service of his product.Product_Or_Service: locksmith serviceDesired SettlementIf a refund of my services was possible due to disrespect or lack of proper price notification then I am all for it. the locksmith failed to give me a price before having me sign the agreement. I felt that I was simply signing a release of the personal information I had provided to him. he altered a signed agreement.
