Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I have not changed my mind about doing my own work, and would still like very much for the ability to do it.  What I need need is either the parts or the money to buy the parts.  I also need the money to replace the camping equipment, lights and a reasonable wage to compensate me for my work.  My concern is that other than this note on the Revdex.com, I have had no communication from Reno's in more than 5 weeks, and have now been waiting more than 14 weeks since the incident occured to be compensated.  This time frame is completly unreasonable, especially with a lack of communication.  November 2 when I last spoke to Reno's I was told my parts would be delivered to my home in about a week.  That didn't happen and there has been no attempt to contact me to explain why not.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: My Car was towed Mercedes dealer for service by Reno's Towing. After "dumping" my car at Mercedes [redacted] (as stated by Service Dept at Mercedes). I found that two pair of expensive sunglasses were missing from my vehicle and my MP3 player, My audio jacks that are attached to vehicle were attempted to be snatched from glove box. [redacted] supervisor was very rude when told of the complaint and blamed me for having flat tires and needing my car towed in the first place. NEVER USE THIS SG COMPANY !!!

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2013/07/22) */

Reno's Auto Body was dispatched to a call on 7/6/2013 at 3:30am to service Mrs. [redacted] vehicle. As my driver greeted her, she immediately asked & assumed we carry tires for a E550 [redacted] Benz and would change it on location. Meanwhile, my driver notices how highly intoxicated she was and explained to her politely that we were sent their to tow her vehicle to the nearest Mercedes dealership, not to change tires...as my driver proceeded with the tow, he asked her if she needed anything out of the vehicle before loading it onto the flatbed.(while noting that she had sunglasses on her head at 330am finding it strange being so late in the evening but not surprising being so intoxicated at that time). She proceeded to get whatever she needed in her vehicle. After she was done, my driver loaded her vehicle on the flatbed all the while she was watching. They reached the Mercedes dealership, Unloading the vehicle(not dumping)all the while Mrs [redacted] watching, and asking her one more time if she needed anything else in the vehicle before dropping the key in the drop box. Reno's even extended our courtesy to give Mrs. [redacted] a ride home(to Windsor, from Hartford). The next day, she rudely calls the owner [redacted], swearing and accusing us of stealing her 2 pairs of sun-glasses & MP3 player out of her vehicle(which seems impossible when she was watching my driver load and unload her vehicle all the while). So [redacted] had enough of the disrespecting over the phone and hung up. Apparently she wasn't happy and send someone from her garbage company (Jamaica Ash & Rubbish) to threaten us in person (which we have 3 witnesses)at our facility on Franklin Ave. We feel at this time we did not "steal" her sun-glasses & MP3 player and treated her with the utmost respect and went out of our way to give her a ride home(when she was very intoxicated that evening). We're a reputable company and pride ourselves on customer service. If there are anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me ([redacted]) at anytime (XXX)XXX-XXXX.

Sincerely,

President/Owner

Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2013/07/23) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

I called for a tow from [redacted] roadside at 12:11 am. with two uniformed officers with me for two hours until their shift ended. First company did not have a flatbed and then Reno's Towing was called and accepted the job. I did not receive a tow until 4:40am and arrived home at 5:20am, so unless the officers and I drank at the scene for 4 HOURS as I waited for a flat bed I do not know how intoxication is possible. Classless to enough suggest might I add.

[redacted] from New Country Mercedes Hartford CT. can attest that my vehicle was DUMPED on a side angle with the Doors Unlocked and the Sunroof COMPLETELY OPEN at the time of delivery, [redacted] service men had to tow my brand new vehicle into their service department with their own equipment. I am a Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of New York and I Do Not Own any garbage company with personnel that "threatened" his disreputable business housed in the middle of the seediest neighborhood I've ever been in. Mr. [redacted] has watched one too many Mob movies.

No profanity was used towards him or any one in his employment. He HUNG UP on me after questioning his practice because he did not want to assume responsibility. PERIOD

I appreciated the ride home from the tow man that evening, I should have called a limousine as that ride cost me $700 for replacing my things.

DO NOT USE THIS SHADY COMPANY !!!

Hartford Police Officers agreed that this was not an isolated issue and they have received complaints of missing items before. Lesson Learned. Moving on.

Business Response /* (-10, 10, 2013/08/13) */

Reno's is standing by what was replied to the consumer on 7/22/13. We responded to this call in the allotted time that the ETA was given. Signature/Allstate Roadside is well aware of this issue and is also standing behind Reno's. [redacted] (not [redacted]) at New Country Mercedes can attest that Ms. [redacted]'s vehicle was not "dumped" and windows were not left open, when it was properely dropped. Again, as Mr. Vassallo stated that he didn't feel it was necessary to use profanity over the phone and ended the conversation. Classless Indeed. As regarding the allegation of items missing and this not being an isolated incident with Hartford Police, is completely incorrect. Reno's has been towing for the City of Hartford(Hartford Police) for over 12yrs and has never had an incident till now. Again, if there is anything else we can awnser, please feel free to contact us. Thank you.
