I am rejecting this response because they are still refusing to provide a thorough accounting of the $22,000+ that they have been paid, while demanding additional money in "overages" for a job they didn't completeWe had to pay a plumber separately to finish the hot water heater install, among other things, which is what they are claiming is still owed them in the lienWe find it incredibly deceitful to attempt to claim "overages" on a job that was never completed to begin with, as well as demanding payment for something that was never touched by the company, and left uninstalled when they walked away. Attached are two text messages from *** ***, discussing how he is picking up materials from *** *** for the jobWhere are the receipts from these trips? We want itemized invoices and receipts to account for the money that has been paid to the companyFailure to provide these documents for the work done at our property is unacceptable, as part of being a Contractor should include keeping meticulous records of all monies spent during a project. If *** *** felt he was working in a "hostile" environment, we were not made aware until after *** terminated the contractThere was no contact with *** *** regarding the issues *** was supposedly having, until the rant response received via the Revdex.comIn fact, *** *** was not presented as the owner of the business until after *** *** emailed to terminate the contract*** *** presented himself as the owner, telling us he was helping his wife "get into the business", and we worked almost exclusively with him, except for the first inspection where *** *** was present, and a couple of text exchanges with *** ***, of which no mention is made that she is the owner, and *** is simply "her contractor"The level of deceit from this company has left us incredulous, and we will do what we can to ensure no other homeowners become victims of this type of bait-and-switch.We are not pleased with how this business is choosing to handle this matter, and we will be taking steps to have the spurious lien removed from our property, as well as recoup funds that were paid to the company for a job that was not completed

Yes the statement is true that the [redacted]' did Hire Renovations By Design to finish their basement into a master suite. HOWEVER, They BOTH signed the Estimate that is ALSO a VALID LEGAL contract (I have attached a copy of the signed estimate/ contract) as well as writing the first check payment...

info and initialing next to it. The We started work after receiving a down payment. We did receive additional payments during the work process. The entire process was difficult here is a list of why; we would agree on a time to start working, show up and no one would be home, the locks would be locked so we couldn't get in to work, they would leave a lock-box empty with no key or they'd leave a key in the lock box but not leave the correct lock unlock so we could not get in to work we would call multiple times to figure out why we couldn't get in to work (We have Witnesses to this). There was also the instance of Mrs. [redacted] being belligerent and yelling at the contractor about a rug he accidentally stepped on. During the Drywall and texture phase All of the [redacted] (INCLUDING THEIR CHILDREN) were informed to keep the basement door closed while work was in progress so the dust and mess would not get all over the rest of the house. The contractor went to leave and could not get out of the basement due to the [redacted] placing a rubber mat of some kind, in front of the door preventing the contractor from opening the door and once it was opened and my contractor was able to get out of the basement Mrs. [redacted] yelled at him [redacted] (this was also after they had already been informed to leave the door closed multiple times but their children kept opening it). When the contractor repeated what she said Mr. [redacted] said he was going to sue for "swearing". I advised the contractor not to go back due to the site being Hostile to work in NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO DEAL WITH SOMEONE YELLING PROFANITIES AT THEM FOR WORKING AND ALREADY BEING WARNED!!!! I sent the [redacted] the cost of the overages they Owed due to work that was done but not paid for (that is also attached and itemized for what the overages are) The [redacted] paid for work that HAD BEEN completed I am not charging for the rest of the work that needs to be done, only charged for overages and changes that were made and NOT paid for! The [redacted] paid for a contracting services NOT MATERIALS FROM US they paid all their materials costs so We DO NOT provide full itemized lists for any costs we pay for as it is NOT in the contract. I placed a Mechanic's Lien On the [redacted] for the OVERAGES NOT PAID FOR and nothing else and IT WILL NOT BE REMOVED UNTIL IT IS PAID FOR!!!! there is NO refund for any of they services that the [redacted] already paid for they paid us to do a job and we did it even enduring their hostilities! Once I had sent the letter of intent to file the lien MRS [redacted] had contacted a number of our Vendors as well as our insurance provider trying to cause trouble and get information she is NOT ENTITLED to also filing a FALSE CLAIM with the insurance saying we damaged her property and then to call and harassing my direct insurance agent after Mrs. [redacted] was informed she couldn't make a claim if no damage had been done (and there was no damage done by us) and changed her story multiple times so she could file a claim. Mrs. [redacted] Has also slandered us on our social media page spilling more false claims (a screen shot also attached) I had to report the post to Facebook for harassment so I could get it removed as it is inappropriate I know she is upset about us not coming back to finish the rest of the work but I WILL NOT PUT ANYONE in that hostile household again, and I know all she is trying to do is make us look bad and cause as much trouble as she can. I should press charges for harassment against the [redacted] but all I want is the money they owe for the changes and overages we did and they did NOT pay for.  I must say I have NEVER MET ANYONE so difficult and someone so hateful to spread such horrible lies about someone. I have only pulled my contractor out of a hostile situation and informed them of the overages they still owe for and they have done nothing but harass us, our vendors, and insurance, and do nothing but cause trouble. if you need statements from anyone who the [redacted] harassed They will be more then happy to provide their testimonials to help MY case.[redacted] President/ OwnerRenovations By Design
