Rent-A-Wreck of Myrtle Beach Reviews (1)

The service department at the manufacturer of my car, Suzuki, recommended that I get my timing chains replaced. They quoted us $2200. A friend recommended C&G Auto Service. We took our car to C&G on 2/29/12 to have the 2 to 3 day job done. Our car was ready on Friday March 9th, six days after it was supposed to be done. No one from C&G called me to let me know of a delay, I had to call them for a status update. We were informed at the time of pick up that there was sludge in by engine and it would burn itself out which meant there would be smoke coming from the tail pipe. Assuming that the owner of the service shop knows more about mechanics than I do, I went on my way after paying $1685 for the repair. We drove the car over the weekend and the smoke never let up, it got worse. On Monday morning, March 12th we took it back to C&G because we were concerned about the smoke. The owner told us to leave it with him overnight. On the 13th, we called for status and were told he needed another day. On the 14th we picked it up and were charged $71.31 for an oil change and an engine flush. That weekend, the antifreeze hose that carries the antifreeze was leaking. They replaced the hose. The next day we had to go back to C&G because the antifreeze had started to leak again. The clamp was left loose. At that visit, I asked about the vibration on my engine. The harmonic balancer was causing the engine to vibrate. A reputable auto repair shop confirmed that the harmonic balancer was either bad or not put on correctly. The owner of C&G said it was normal but eventually changed the harmonic balancer. After driving the car for a few days, there was a clicking noise. Upon checking the oil, there was NO oil in my car. The owner of C&G told me it was normal for 5 quarts of oil to burn or leak out in just a few days. The owner of C&G suggested getting a lawyer was a good idea.
