Rentz came out to my house for a diagnosis of my A/C problem. they said they filed it with my insurance company. After a few days I called to find out the status and the lady on the phone told me the insurance company rejected the coverage. I said fine but I still want to repair the issue. She said they wont do it. When I asked her why they wont, she yelled at me and said " no COD." I have no idea what that means and before I could ask what she meant she hung up on me. I called them back and it went into voice mail. I asked them to please call me back and explain the reason for randomly choosing to not do this work and I really don't want to call another company to come out. they never called back. I am out of $100 initial diagnosis fee and now have to engage another company and pay again.

We have a home warranty and they must have a contract with Rentz Residental Service. Unfortunately, for us they are the first contractor sent by our Home Warranty Company. We have had 4 instances where we’ve need to use the warranty. Each time we hate has a TERRIBLE experience with Rentz. The office personnel is incredibly rude and dishonest. The first time someone came out they never ever used a tool to assess our situation and immediately said our issue was not covered and left. (The men that arrived were equally rude and unprofessional). I called the home warranty and asked for a second opinion. Another contractor came out and fixed the issue - all under warranty. This is the same experience I’ve had with Rentz each time. It almost like they collect the fee from the warranty company and don’t want to do any work. I would NEVER recommend this company for anything. So sad that this is what customer service has come to these days.

I was scheduled for service with Rentz on my HVAC this afternoonThis was the third time in days that Rentz had sent a tech to fix my broken HVACThey were dispatched by [redacted] , with whom I have a home warranty The first visits were without incident, and both techs were very professional and politeToday's visit was not the same at allA man named Joseph came to my door, asked to come in and what the problem wasI explained that my air was blowing, but no heating or coolingHe proceeded to turn on the unit, and went outside to inspect the unit2-minutes later, he came back in and asked about the location of my air handlerI indicated that I wasn't sure, and he said that it was most likely in the atticThis was a surprise to me, as the previous techs had not needed to access my attic We walked to the garage to access the pull down for the atticThere were some boxes underneath that needed to be removed, so I said that it would take a couple of minute

I had Rentz Residential Services come out last year because my AC was not blowing cold air After a complete inspection, it was determined that my old unit (approxyrs old) was on it's last legs Because of having to find parts to fit my unit , which was no longer being produced, it did take a couple of days to fix, but was completed much sooner than I anticipated Both technicians that came out were polite and professional, they called when on the way, and arrived when stated they would The unit is still functioning without any problems

I actually put off calling my warranty company about my ac because of prior contractor experienceBut I was pleasantly surprised by the service I received from the young man from RentzHe found my problem (fan motor), had part on truck, fixed it, and was doneNo additional money requested for outrageous “code” upgrades, etcHappy customer!

Rentz was the most unreliable company I have EVER worked with I honestly dont know how they are able to remain open Not only did they not fix my air conditioner, I spent three whole days waiting at home to hear from them with a 9-window One of those days was a no showTheir policy is that they will come anytime between 9-and call minutes prior (not always the case) if you do not get their call they cancel your appointment within minutesThey also have poor customer service and I would never recommend themIn fact I would highly NOT recommend them if you would like your air fixed and keep your sanity

I have a gaseous fume intermittently coming from my ventsInitial service request was submitted at the beginning of MarchThe contractor came out without the proper tools to address this issueI was told they would follow up, but never received a callAfter calling back in, the contractor returned and inspected the AC unit stating he didn't find any mechanical or wiring issuesHe did smell the fumes and advised he would follow up with First American and Rentz (contractor) because he suspected it was the duct work and they couldn't service thatAGAIN, I receive no follow upWhen I login to FA website the service request is closed! I contact them and attempt to reopen the requestI could not reopen the request online, so I create a new one for the same issueA few days pass and I hear nothing from them so I go online to check the status and the request has been removedI create a new on

I have used Rentz residential twice and both times have been a wonderful experienceThe technicians were professionalMy AC was fixed in a timely manner with no follow up neededI have recommended this company to numerous friends who also had positive experiences

I highly recommend Rentz for your HVAC needs I needed a HVAC repair at my home in June and they were on time, friendly, and had my systems running during their first visit

I read several of the other reviews before agreeing to use this company to service our home through First American Home WarrantyI had my doubt that it could be this bad, until I actually received their services (or lack there of)Our air went out on a Friday and they were contracted to come out MondayAs many have said, they will not give you a timeYou have to take off the entire day, and they will call you minutes priorMonday the techarrived at He said a leak test would need to be scheduledThat couldn't be done until FridayI take off the entire day of work again FridayNo one has shown at about 1400, so I call to verify with Cindy that I was still scheduledShe said yesrolls around and no one has comeI finally get a call from Cindy saying that no one would be coming out todayNo apology, not anythingShe said we can try to get you in on Saturday but again said she could not give me a time meaning I'd have to sit around all day Saturday, and pray that they show upI instructed her that I would find a different company and she immediately hung up on meThe correct solution to this issue would have been to apology and schedule something immediately for Saturday morningThat's not Cindy for youShe is your typical highly rude, entitled, customer service agent except there customer service doesn't existsI have no doubt that had we received their services, we would have run into the same issues others haveSo in a weeks time, our air still does not work, and I've wasted two days of workThese guys should not be in businessIf you aren't contracted to use this company through your warranty or even if you are, call immediately to get scheduled with another contractorI made the mistake of not believing the reviews

Rentz came out and made their diagnosisA/C needs to be cleaned before we can tell if it needs freon One week later American Home Shield informs us that Rentz has changed their diagnosis and there were no issues Not sure how an A/C professional changes their opinion without coming back out a second time Very shadyAnd we are still at degrees inside Now a second company is coming is coming out
