Reox Automotive Reviews (1)

Would not trust this place to even change my oil after this experience. My girlfriend trusted a family friend at City Auto with her 2003 VW Jetta but apparently City Auto's trust was misplaced. They had the work done at Reox Automotive and the results were improper installation and horrendous customer service.

The Jetta was delivered to Reox with an engine diagnosis as well as the parts for the repair. Both were 100% accurate and nothing more was needed. The part was in perfect condition. They charged $60 for an engine diagnostic. Yes, you read that correctly. $60 for a guy to plug a box into the dash and read a printout (which Auto Zone did for free prior and was provided to the shop). That's not even the worst of it. Shortly after the repair was complete we noticed there was still a small amount of coolant around the area where the repair occurred. We thought nothing of it and passed it off as residue from the previous issue. Eventually it reached the point where there were once again coolant spots in the garage the size of a half dollar or better. At this point, I stepped in. I have a family mechanic that has done all work on all my vehicles for years and is the best. He immediately concluded the issue lied with the part Reox installed. Upon dis-assembly he found that the thermostat housing they had installed had a gasket that butted to the intake. He found that the gasket was not seated at all correctly but was pinched between the housing/intake and with time worsened with heat/pressure. He patched it up and not a drop since.

I contacted the shop and requested they rectify the issue with a refund of the diagnostic and housing remove/replace. The manager at the time (Todd) stated there was nothing they could do and we would just have to move on. I found this unacceptable. I let him know my thoughts on that resolution and he continued to say there was nothing to be done. I stated I would resolve the issue elsewhere if they wouldn't. He stated the owner of Reox would be in touch with me to try and resolve the issue. I advised that if I didn't hear from the owner by the end of the 2nd business day that I would report to the Revdex.com. I never heard from the owner, so I filed.

The case was closed in their favor with the same dance-around-the-issue answers they provided me. They state that because the car was not brought back to them to fix, they will won't be resolving the issue. Who in their right mind would trust a shop with such blatant disregard for quality to ever fix a repair that they completely botched in the first place!?!?

This shop is corrupt, dishonest, and inadequate to perform any repairs on vehicles. They will improperly install your parts, overcharge with no reason, and refuse to man up and cooperate when they are in the wrong.
