I asked repairsmith to find out whats wrong with my car 5/25/20 technician said the anti theft system was the problem and he couldn't read the compute
I havent recieved anything to give to any mechanics to show what the diagnosis was as was promised. I have made attempts by phone to speak to someone about a refund as well and yet to hear about the diagnosis or a call back as stated by the receptionist on the phone yesterday 6/18/20 who said a representative would contact me by the the end of the day and I would recieve the diagnosis via email. I am stil waiting. Also after inquiring about what repair smith claimed was the problem
a PCM I was told the correct abbreviation should be an ECM module needs to be replaced. I want a refund because I haven't recieved anything to support the diagnosis and need to have an Acura specialist properly diagnose the car

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund or to have it thoroughly diagnosed

Did not receive the service I paid for. I was told I would receive a refund and have not heard anything back from the company.
I had an appointment with repair Smith on April 17th 2020. A service technician arrived and look over the vehicle. The vehicle would not start and he attempted to start it with no success. That is why I called them for their expertise. After spending sometime on the vehicle he told me I could try changing the spark plugs or the coil wires. That was not a diagnosis of what the problem was and how he could fix it. I was told they would reach out to me and let me know what it would take to fix the vehicle. No one reached out to me. I eventually called repair Smith and requested a refund and was told I would receive a refund. That was over three weeks ago with no communication or refund insight.

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund in the amount of

I called for service and received an appointment for 12/20/19. Tech came out to my house stated the issue with car was ignition cylinder for my 2008 Volkswagen Eos. He started the cost as $125 for the diagnosis which would go towards the total cost. He indicates the part was a little over $100 and labor was $125 per hour. As he was working he stopped and indicates there was a screw in the steering wheel he didn't have a tool for and would need to contact a locksmith. He then indicates he could not complete the job that day and his office would contact me when a locksmith was located. He also indicates the total cost would be around $400 since he needed to get a locksmith. I paid him the $125 which states is going towards the total cost and they should be in contact within the next couple of days and that they are closed on Sunday and would be closed for Christmas, which left the option for the next day Saturday or Monday or Tuesday. I did not here from them. On Saturday afternoon contacted the tech who states they were still looking for a locksmith. Well how hard is that'?? Monday and Tuesday no call. Tuesday 12/24/19 I called to see what was going on and the guy on the phone states we found a locksmith and we can give you the number. I asked why should I call? He stated ? We don't know how much of a priority it is for you to get your car done so instead of waiting for us you can call them yourself. I then asked about the $125 I paid and that I prefer for it to go towards the total cost. He then made me an appointment for 8am on 12/26/19. On 12/26/19 8am came and went, no call and no show. I call the office 3 times and they did not pick up until the 4th call at 8;35 am and I was told then we can't find your information. After being placed on hold they find my info and set another appointment for 12/26/19 at 3pm. I get a call from them stating the price has changed to $800.The Tech claimed the part was $525, I called the Volkswagen dealer the part cost was $165 not $525 which is on my invoice
Product_Or_Service: Repair ignition cylinder

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I would like the bill adjusted to reflect a true break down of the charges. There is no way the part cost 525 and the invoice which was not receive until the next day does not break down anything does not even show what the locksmith did or any of his fees. Just shows the part cost 525 and labor as 275. The tech was unprofessional and even refused to give my keys to check it for myself until I paid. As if I was not standing there with cash in hand visible and that I had not already paid $125

RepairSmith Response • Feb 19, 2020

When *** called us that her key would not work in her ignition, we explained that we would have to send someone out to do a diagnosis but based on when she explained it was most likely an ignition lock cylinder. And gave her a price of $125 for the diagnosis, that would be applied towards the labor of any approved repair. When the Tech started working on her car, he realized that her vehicle needed tools that we didn't have. He told her we needed a locksmith to come out to do the work, and this would be an additional cost, as we don't have a locksmith on staff. Due to the holiday it took longer than usual to find a locksmith. While I understand that we may have drop the ball in communicating to her that this was taking longer than expected, we did communicate that the cost would depend on what the locksmith charged.

The locksmith provided the part and charged us for it. After doing some research I see that the numbers on the invoice were reversed and that we mischarged the labor cost as parts and parts as labor. We have refunded the difference in sales tax because of this error $31.88. The labor cost was $525.00, and the part cost was $275.00. These prices are reflective of what the Locksmith charged us plus a 10% (well below our normal) markup as the middleman.
