Horrible Experience
If I could give you a minus O, I would. Had a salesperson named David Mullens come to our home on 7/11/23. Drew up a contract and we paid 1400 dollars to do repiping on our old pipes for copper. Work to done on 9/13/23. The outsourced contractor arrived with help on 9/13/23. About a half hour later or so, some guy was in basement talking to the contractor. I asked who he was and he said his name is Ed and is from the California office and he's in town for two weeks. I thought it was rude and very unprofessional for this person to come into my house, unannounced and with no credentials. While the contractors' was laying down plastic, I asked the contractor and Ed, "where's the permit?". We checked the contract and David circled that we get the permit. But on your business contract paperwork, it's printed that the contractor gets the permit. First my husband went to my towns city hall to get the permit but stated the contractor has to get it. My husband went back to our city hall with the contractor and paperwork could not be filled because the contractor had no credentials on him. My husband called David and he arrived at our home and we did a "Change Order" stating that Repipe would get the Permit. As of today, the contractor nor has Repipe filled for a Permit in my city. Repipe has not filed for permit here since 2021. I have reached out to David via email and received an response on 9/20/23. Nothing has been done since then. I checked one last time with my city on 10/2/23, still no permit. This has been a terrible experience working with company. I just want my deposit refunded, quickly. I guess contracts are useless, they only serve those who draw them up and can manipulate them to their purpose.

We needed to repipe our house due to the copper pipes that were noisy, the hot water was slow, the water pressure was poor and we kept getting leaks. The repipe team that came to my house was great it was a team of 3 guys and the first thing they did was to put drop clothes every where they walked and worked. the amount of holes in the walls was at a minimum. They replaced all the piping from where the water comes into the house with Pex. The time it takes to get hot water to the kitchen( the furthest from the water heater) is greatly reduce. The crew that did the sheet rock repair was amazing,( I was worried about how all these holes would be covered) did a great job you can't tell there was anything ever done in the walls!

Thank you for leaving a review. We're thrilled you had such an excellent repipe experience!

Repipe Specialists were professional, punctual, and successful in solving our piping needs. Our beginning interaction with Don assured us that we chose the right company to update our home infrastructure, and Dimitar and his crew followed up with excellent workmanship. Would definitely recommend!!

We found out we had polybutylene pipes when we had a very bad leak. We were so reluctant to go through what we saw as the miserable process of repiping our house. But it had to be done and we couldn't have picked a better company. They kept us informed at every step, were always considerate of the home owner, and were FAST! We were afraid the disruption would last weeks but they finished the repipe in less than a day and a half and the dry wall repair in about 2 days. And through it all the crews were pleasant and just nice people! Now that it's been repainted, it honestly is 'like it never even happened'!

I needed to repipe my house due to the copper pipes under the concrete slab where leaking. The repipe team that came to my house was great it was a team 4 guys and the first thing they did was to put drop clothes every where they walked and worked. the amount of holes in the walls was at a minimum. The job was scheduled for 1 day and everything was completed in about 5 hours they replaced all the piping from where the water comes into the house running copper from outside the house and once in the attic they ran Pex. they also wrapped all the hot water line in the attic and in the walls. the time it takes to get hot water to the kitchen( the furthest from the water heater) is greatly reduce. This complaint relates to contract and customer service issues. On May 15,2019, I had my home re-piped due to a water leak.
On May 15,2019, I had a complete re-pipe of my residence due to a water leak. Every since the re-pipe I hear the pipes making noise all doing the day and night. I have called their office a few times to have someone come out to see if their was a problem with the installation because several neighbors in my area have also had re-pipes and they don't encounter the noise I have been experiencing.

I was told that I had to pay $165.00 fee for someone to come out. My contract with them states that I have a lifetime warranty on their product. It appears that the installation was probably faulty from the beginning and now they don't want to come out and check the problem. Because of this problem and them not coming out to check to see if I have leaks or other issues they will have to pay for any remediation work etc., They need to stand up to their contract and check their work product according to their lifetime warrant. I wonder if this is their business model when working with seniors. They need to see what the problem is and correct it before it gets costly.

Desired Outcome

This company needs to stand up to their warranty and contract and check the noise in the pipes in my attic. I had a termite inspection and the termite inspector stated I did not have and kind of rodents or insects in my attic. Something is going on with the installation of my re-pipe. Poor customer service. The mere that that they want to charge me $165.00 for them to come out. REALLY!

Our repiping job was done in May 2019, as the consumer has stated. The first report we had about pipe noises was in October. Typically, one can hear water running through piping from time to time and when the temperature of the piping changes, one can hear a sort of popping sound as the pipes expand or contract. When the consumer contacted us again on 2/3, I emailed her with the information about pipes expanding/ contracting. She replied that she wanted someone to come out to check them and mentioned that none of her neighbors have this issue. Obviously, we can't comment on what kind of piping or construction the neighbors have, so one thing has little to do with the other. We advised the consumer that we can send a tech to check out the report, but would need to collect in advance a service call deposit of $165. It surprises me that she has an issue with this as it's clearly spelled out on the Warranty (attached, highlighted). The consumer is apparently misunderstanding this. We only keep the deposit if there's nothing warranty-related or warranty-covered that can be found. If there is a warranty-covered issue, we take care of it and refund the service call deposit. The consumer mentions in her "Desired Resolution" that she's had a termite inspector state that there are no rodents or insects in her attic. But she has had woodwork replaced there by her insurance company last year. It's possible that the new joists or trusses could be settling and causing noises that are misunderstood to be the piping. It is because of this issue that the consumer had with the joists or trusses last year that I requested a signed waiver from her acknowledging that we are not responsible for the condition of her home or construction or woodwork in the attic, etc. We're happy to honor the warranty and send out a technician once the service call deposit is collected and a waiver signed.

Would definitely recommend Repipe Specialists. Everyone was courteous , on time and respectful of us and our home. All work was explained and completed in one day except for drywall patches which had to wait for final inspection

Thank you so much for leaving a review! We're thrilled you had such an excellent repipe experience!

Repipe was excellent from the very first time I met John Oscarson through installation, drywall and clean up. They even came back to fix a faucet they had installed. The crews were all fantastic and even matched the existing drywall where they made holes in the walls. I had three different estimates from three different companies and went with Repipe Specialist, John was very thorough in explaining to me in detail how things would be done and what I could expect through the process. I had had several leaks and my insurance company wasn't real happy with another leak and suggested this might be the best way to fix the leaks permanently. I am so very happy I did this and we had a very good experience throughout the whole process!

After spending a lot of money to have out hours repiped I was required $125.00 in advance, to have a Technician come out and look at the hot water heater, they installed, to see why it is leaking. Their company POLICY

I am writing this to tell everyone my experience with your company. We have been in our mobile home for 38 years and we had almost no water pressure! We are both retired. So the idea of repiping the house was to say at least very scary! I called a number of plumbers some of them as soon as I said mobile home they said no, and the ones that did mobile homes the estimates were shocking. Being on social security money is tight. I saw your ad in the Sunday paper so I checked out your web site. I was very impressed. So I called and first thing I said was do you do mobile homes when I heard Yes we do. I said can I get an appointment for an estimate. They sent me an email telling me John Oscarson would be coming out to give me an estimate. John was very professional went over everything showing me what needed to be done when he gave me the estimate I was in shock it was the lowest of any other plumbers and when he said the job would take one day Maybe two. I told him sign me up. He told me they will call and set the day the work could be done. The next day Telma called we talked and set the date. Monday the 24th. Monday at 7:50 two trucks and four men arrived they unloaded the truck in the drive way while I walked thru the house with the foremen two other men covered all the floors and they started the work. I cannot find the words to say how professional and courteous and considerate the crew was! they worked diligently, without a break all the time being careful of walls floors and furniture. When they were done the foremen did a walk thru with me while the others were cleaning up when they left the house looked like no one was ever there. Anyone thinking about having their house repiped "Don't waste your time calling any other plumbers! Call Repipe Specialists you will get the best price and their work will be done professional neat, painless and without any problems!" Just a note the complete job was done in one day!
I will recommend Repipe Specialists to everyone. they are the best.

Thank you so much for sharing your repipe experience! We are so thrilled you had such a successful repipe!

Job was done well beyond anything I expected. Staff was great, and patching was so good l cannot find where the cuts were made.

Bill *** from Just Plumbing managed the crew for our Repipe Specialist project. He did a walk through, gave us the details of the job and managed the crew for the pulling of the Pex Pipe on the first day. The second day the crew worked on it's own and did a great job hooking up all the Pex joints. This was a well - oiled operation with a well-trained crew. It was an amazing process completed in two days of work. The crew also did a nice job on the new Delta valves for both showers and left the remaining tile in good shape afterwards. They were careful not to cause damage to wood floors, vanities etc. and were impeccable in their clean-up after they were finished. We just had our inspection and it passed *** flying colors. We highly recommend this crew if you find it necessary to replace your old copper.

Repipe Specialists is a great company. Not only was it affordable, the team was great. Everyone, the consultant who went over my options, the receptionist, who kept me in contact when the plumbing crew would arrive, the plumbers who worked with my schedule and the crew who finished my drywall (the texture was spot on) I could not ask for a better experience. Very happy customer.

Well worth it, will not buy another home till it's repiped. You do not want the head aches you will get from water damage, or insurance costs.

Installers Negligence: Major water damage caused by the abandoned copper water pipes not being drained and capped.

In May/June 2018, Repipe Specialists completed our install/inspection/dry wall patch repairs. At the end of June, while our house was being painted and we were out of the country our first water leak/damage occurred. The leak was next to our toilet downstairs. Being that we were out of the country, the painter called a plumber to fixed the leak. Apparently, the Repipe Specialists' installers failed to cap the copper line that they had abandoned and it was dripping water into the wall. The second leak came in July. The leak was under our kitchen sink. I contacted Repipe Specialists and was put in contact with Robert. It turns out Repipe Specialists' installers also failed to cap the copper line that they had abandoned under the kitchen sink. They told us to let the cabinet dry out and that they would be back to repair the drywall that was ripped out to cap the copper line. 5 months later and the dry wall still has not been fixed. Then in November, we found a third leak. When replacing our stove there was standing water and mold behind the refrigerator, cabinets, stove, and the inside of the cabinets are saturated. It turns out Repipe Specialists' installers also failed to cap the copper line that they had abandoned for the water to the refrigerator. At this point, we began dealing with ***, their VP of operations. She arranged for Envirocheck, a mold company, to come out and do a mold test. Then she sent out a person to try and dry everything out using a humidifier for four days. Unfortunately, that did not work and the dry wall and insides of the cabinets are still soaked. We had to contact *** to let her know that the humidifier did not work. She didn't respond to us for 7 days. Finally, after several phone calls, emails, and finally contacting the Repipe Specialists' sales representative, she sent an email that she was sending out another company to perform a moisture test and evaluate the damage. The company who conducted the moisture test told us that our kitchen cabinets would have to be torn out and the dry wall would have to be gutted down to the studs to ensure that all of the mold is removed properly. Needless to say, this is not an inexpensive task. Repipe Specialists' owner Mike *** decided that they would rather have us file a claim through our home owners insurance company and have our insurance company subrogate Repipe Specialists. My questions is why should we have to pay and $*** deductible and have our insurance rates go up because of a claim that is clearly Repipe Specialists' installers negligence?

Desired Outcome

Repair kitchen by removing all mold, replacing inside of cabinets, patching dry wall, and repaint what was already repainted in July by a contracted painter.

I am very familiar with the consumer's issue and concerns and had sent out technicians a number of times to inspect and investigate the cause/s of the problem and to repair any plumbing or patching required. I then paid for the specialized inspection based on consumer's concern about possible mold. The results were positive and the recommended handlings were invasive and extensive and would involve multiple contractors. We are a repiping company and to find, hire, and coordinate these outside contractors would take an extraordinary amount of time. In the best interest of the consumer, I advised that this type of occurrence usually goes through the homeowner's insurance. The insurance company has a machine in place, essentially, that could get all restoration and repairs done A to Z in a very timely fashion. If they determined that we were responsible for the issue, they would subrogate with our insurance company. As additional data, our company stood by our warranty and allowed the consumer full coverage even though we were not fully paid, having had to send the account to a Collections Agency who took 30% in fees.

We felt that they were very trustworthy considerate and skillful. Explanation of all work was through. after installation I was able to contact the team lead plumber and my concerns were answered immediately. This reassured me that the follow up would continue as adverised

Thank you so much for leaving a review! We're thrilled you had such a great repipe experience!

We have contracted on 8-30-18 with REPIPE Specialists (***) for repiping of the whole house upon which CROWN Plumbing & Construction (***) was subcontracted to do the project. They started working 9-10-18 but up to this day 9-25-18, the job is not done. This morning, we called and their office called back that they will have to send people to work after 3:00 pm. They don't have enough number of staff to do the work or they get too many delays because of concurrent other house projects they need to finish which is not FAIR for us. The long duration of inconvenience, suffering, discomfort and unhealthy environment are what we are much concerned about., not to mention the errors/accidents/ breakage they have caused along the process some of which are : Cutting the telephone line, water leaks on chandelier, and on ceilings of formal dining room, break in the bathtub and messing up with the AC system (newly-installed September 2018) etc. The secretary of their office has messed up schedules for inspection to happen prolonging the wait, thereby delaying the work. As an aftermath, the duration of the entirety of the repiping is very long that have caused us to suffer so much. This was totally opposite of what they advertise as efficient and quick service. Our special needs child who has poor respiratory defense has become sick for several days due to dust/dirt and heat, no matter how much we try to air out the house,a dn sanitize. I even have to cover all holes/cuts on the walls by myself because they left them open and exposed while waiting for the Inspector. Our son had missed school and my wife have to be absent from work/missed committee meetings to take care of him. I have been with the plumbing company for phone calls disturbing my work flow in the office. It had caused us so much physical suffering, emotional stress and medical burden. This needs to be corrected .
Product_Or_Service: Repiping

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) We want the repiping project to be done efficiently and on time. The company and the subcontractor company need to be TRUE to what they advertise. They need to have a full staff to finish the job right. This needs to be CORRECTED. We have never experienced so much inconvenience and suffering most especially HEALTH-wise.

Repipe Specialists Response • Oct 08, 2018

We remedied the consumer's dissatisfaction and he has told us that he is happy now.

Customer Response • Oct 12, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
To say that I am happy is perhaps the worst word they could use in this instance. I am just relieved that this is finally over and we can move forward with our lives as a family. It took them 14 business days to do the job, contrary to what was said during the sales part that it will be a matter of days, 3-5 days. That's considering the fact that I have to make several calls each day to make them come to work. Most of the things contained in their fliers were not fulfilled in this case. It was stated that there will always be a supervisor every day but it did not happen everyday. They send like 2-3 people to do the job and they are being pulled out to do another project somewhere leading to that very long delay. I noticed a very deliberate act to delay this project as they do not have enough people to do this big project. They make many excuses, like during the Inspection from the City, they claimed that their secretary made a mistake in scheduling my house and that it was another property got scheduled instead. They hire per diem workers(patchers) who can only come after 3:30 pm after they are done with their full time jobs. Having very few workers and starting late led to staying over mostly after 8 pm just to do the job for the day. They are not true to their words(as written in their fliers), once they get you to sign the contract, they turn you over to another subcontractor who does not fulfill what is written in the fliers. They should be made accountable to whatever they promise and advertise. My only hope for this complaint is that they make tangible corrective actions so that other future customers may not suffer the way that we did during the conduct of this project.
