Review: As our garbage was picked up today (5/18), they also decided to take the garbage can with it as well. When I called to let them know, they put me on hold and called the truck. They said they took the can (55 gallon) because it was over their service limit size (32 gallon), and had been out three times before, and given us a warning. It was never out that many times, we never received any warnings, but that is beyond the point. They refuse to give it back to us, but will replace it with a 32 gallon can. That doesn't do me any good. I need that 55 gallon to run stuff to the recycling center, and it's [redacted] gallon can that I paid for myself, at WalMart. The only reason it was out (and no, we were not aware of the size limit, but apparently the landlord should have been) was so we didn't just throw random stuff out into the street, and it was contained after our spring cleaning. And really, the reasonable course of action would have been to just leave it there, and not empty it. Not steal it from us, which, is what they did. I will take legal action if not resolved/replaced/returned, as I didn't pay cash for my own can in order to have it taken from us because they "don't like what size it is". Again, it could have been left behind and just not emptied.Desired Settlement: Replacement, as in, bring mine back or replace it with the right size container that I paid for, not the one YOU want to give me.

Regards,

Review: I moved to a new house in April 2014. In early May I went to cancel my service for the old house since I had tenants now in it. When I called to cancel the service I had recently received the invoice for the next 3 months. The lady on the phone with Republic cancelled my service and told me not to pay the current invoice and that I would receive a prorated invoice. I have not received any invoice, phone call, or email (no contact info changed in move) until a Final Notice dated 7/30/14 which I received in mid August after returning from a trip and was paid on 8/18/14. Then on August 21, 2014 I received a collection notice saying it had been sent to collections. All of my contact information was verified when I cancelled service and the first contact of any type was received in mid August.Desired Settlement: I want the collection removed and want to see any credit reporting on this that was done removed.

Response:

Hello,

In researching this account, there indeed was some confusion on our end. We apologize for the poor communication and any inconvenience this may have caused.

Your account hasn't been sent to collections and is in good standing with our company.

Should you require anything else, please call me at [redacted] and ask for [redacted]. I will be more than happy to take care of anything that is needed.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Respectfully,

Consumer

Review: Allied Waste, now called Republic Services, sends out bills once every three months. Due to the quarterly nature of their billing it is very easy to forget about their bill and incur late charges and disconnects which result in disconnect fee's, reconnect fee's, and re-delivery fee's for garbage containers they have confiscated. We have asked several times for them to notify us by phone prior to any disconnection and have kept all of our contact information with them current. [redacted], the customer service agent in the Missoula office, has been incredibly rude and has informed us repeatedly that "We don't have to give you a disconnect notice, if we do it's a courtesy" in response to our repeated requests to receive disconnect notices and concerns that we continue to be disconnected without notice. They have recently disconnected our garbage service once again with no notice of disconnect. They now want us to pay a ridiculous amount of fee's, plus a deposit in order to resume the garbage service we were never notified was going to be disconnected.Desired Settlement: It is inappropriate for Republic Services(Allied Waste) to continue to disconnect our services without first notifying us of a pending disconnection. A phone call, A note on the door, even an email would be acceptable. A reasonable resolution would be for Republic services to waive their fee's and allow us to resume garbage service by paying the past due balance, which we are more than willing to pay.

Review: Last Fall I bagged my leaves and was charged $7 for overage. This Fall I was charged $108 for the same amount of leaves. I spoke to my neighbors who put out bags as well and was told they were charged NO overage at all. I contacted [redacted] via the website and her response was rude and unprofessional. She said that I had more than 3 times the amount of leaves I had out and also I was being charged $17.25 per load rather than the $7 in the past. She has always been very rude to me when I called to request service or an explanation of my bill. Last Summer my can was taken by mistake and she called me a liar on the phone. Literally as we spoke the trailer came back around and returned. Not only did she not apologize for calling me a liar but she said it was never really gone. I live in a household with 6 other people and they all looked out and saw it gone. I cannot believe she is who you would choose to represent your company and provide "customer service".Desired Settlement: I want my bill corrected. I did not have 12 can refills. I had 4. I would like my bill to reflect that. Even at that expense I am paying over $30 to have 12 bags of leaves taken which is ridiculous. The $17.25 expense should also be corrected. I understand if I had that many bags of household trash it would weigh more but these were bags of dried leaves with little to no weight at all.

Response:

[redacted],

My name is [redacted] (Division Manager) resposible for the Bozeman Division. I have spoken with [redacted] with regards to the charges as well as her concerns around the customer service she had recieved. We agreed to move forward and maintain our relationship as it pertains to her trash service. There has been an error at some stage in the process from collection through to billing that I have taken responsibility for.
